The pockets are key. Very soft.

Typical LL Bean, thick, soft flannel. Washed several times and just gets softer without pilling or loosing vibrance of colors. Size wise: I am 5'6" and the medium, after washing, falls just above my ankles. It is more than twice my width and falls off my shoulder, so "roomy" is an understatement. Disappointed in the oversized because it has POCKETS so hanging out on a lazy morning would have been fun, cell phone in pocket playing music or podcasts while I pudder around, but I look ridiculous and have to keep pulling the shoulder up.

Very cozy , very soft and comfy

I just received the Dress Bean Freeport plaid gown in petite and ran it through perma-press wash/dry cycles. It came out very soft and fluffy, not the stiff scratchy flannel that sometimes appears. There was very little shrinkage, if any. The gown features some nice details; I like the neat non-bulky neckline, and the gown has tucks on both the front and the back. The tucks are pretty and help the bodice fit better while allowing fuller fabric below. I also like the deep side pockets. The fit is as expected for casual sleepwear through the shoulders and bust, but is very generous elsewhere. The length and sleeve length are generous and the wrists are large. (At this price a second cuff button would have been nice for those of us with smaller wrists.) ........ Please especially note that the bottom part of this gown is huge! I think the reason is that the tucks of course require extra fabric, and the designer kept the full width of the fabric below the tucks, flaring it out even more below the pockets. The plaid on the side view of the model shows this. If you are looking for a somewhat straight-fit gown, this isn't it. However, for a winter flannel nightgown I don't think it will bother me; just mentioning this in case it might matter to you. . ....... Pricey sleepwear item even with a promo code, but this is my Christmas splurge, and I can't wait to wear it on a cold night. My main concern was the sometimes iffy quality of flannel but so far I am pleased with the fabric. ...... I also have last year's below-knee length Scotch flannel gown which doesn't have the extra fabric (width) toward the bottom. (I really like the tucks on this one, though.) I'll try to upload photos and hope they don't flip. ....... LLB, please consider offering both styles/lengths of Scotch flannel gowns next year, and please offer us ladies more of those beautiful plaids that are currently available only for the men, especially for the Scotch shirts. Some lighter color plaids would be nice, too.

This is a well made, warm, thick flannel night gown. My last flannel night gown from LLBean lasted 20 years. So happy to be able to order another one and expect many years of wear. Very comfortable, soft with pretty details. LLBean does it again. Highly satisfied!

Wanted something to wear that would keep the chill away and this is it! Good fit, washes well, soft and comfortable for those chilly, winter nights.

I have a nightgown wardrobe of about every color of LL Bean's previous nightgowns. Decided to go ahead and try the new plaid version - and am I glad I did!!! It is SO soft. The fit is great. The pockets are a perfect addition - well-placed and big enough. It's a nice weight - not as heavy, perhaps, as earlier versions, but just right for my heated, New England home. Couldn't be happier!

I was hesitant to buy a plaid night gown, but this one is great! It is super soft and warm and just the right weight. I'm short and the petite is about 3" from the floor. I'm so happy with this gown that I may buy another one this winter.

This is my second nitegown like this. Other one is a light blue stipe. Have washed and worn it many times. So decided I needed another one in a different color

This gown is generously sized and very, very warm. I'm 5'6" and this nightgown touches my heels; it's very roomy. My usual size is 22/24 and this gown fits more generously than the 3X flannel pajama sets that I also own, which "just fit me." I have plans to buy a few more of this nightgown in the different patterns offered. I have washed it on cold cycle in the washer and have tumble-dried in on permanent press and it did not shrink much - still roomy. Expect some of the flannel fluff to be shed when it's washed and dried; I wash it along with my LL Bean pajama sets. When tumble dried, it comes out extremely fluffy and cuddly. I love this nightgown and it has exceeded my expectations. It is luxuriously warm.

Has everything I was looking for except a collar to turn up against the cold Maine winters. But hey, it has pockets, it has coziness. It's a pleasure to put on at bedtime. I hope you'll branch out to other fabrics, besides the plaids. Pretty colors, maybe. Thanks!

I LOVE flannel nightgowns in the fall & winter. This one is especially comfortable and warm. It's nice and long (to the top of my foot. I'm 5'3), I like my a little large for ease of sleep and sitting, and an extra perk - pockets!! It has lovely details like pintuck on the bodice and button, not elastic, sleeves. Will definitely purchase another to wear when one is in the laundry. I did purchase on a special with $10 off. But would pay full price for it. Had shipped free to my local store.

I bought this gown in 4 fabric designs about a decade ago. I'm right handed and my right elbows are just now failing/ripped. I bought a fifth as a Christmas gift for a girlfriend. She loves hers too. I bought two gowns this year each having white in the plaid. I liked the lighter colors I bought before. I've ordered a third gown in spit of the dark plaids. I love the comfort and I'm very pleased you added pockets. Hope the fabric holds up as well as my old gowns.

Washes and dries even softer. So cozy for a cold night but still breathes so you don't become overheated. Worth the price.

This gown is soft, cozy, and warm. The flannel is wonderful. It is quite roomy. I thought about exchanging it for a smaller size, but decided to see if it would shrink in the wash. It did, but just a bit. Sleeves are now about an inch shorter. Gown is still pretty roomy but looks better now. Love it.

There is a lot of fabric with this gown but it's doesn't seem to get twisted at night. The flannel is very soft. I really like the gown.

This flannel nightgown is soft, warm and very comfortable, especially on a cold winter's night.

I have purchased LL Bean flannel gowns in the past but this one is so much softer. I haven't worn it yet, but can't wait for a cold MI night to snuggle up in. I ordered a misses because I like a longer gown, but probably should have ordered a petite as the sleeves are a little long. Runs true to size.

These flannel plus sized nightgowns have no equal!!!! I have been wearing them for years. I bought two five years ago and they are in near perfect condition after many washings, This year I bought two more and they are beautiful and have pockets --very useful to carry Kleenex and other small items. If they add additional colors, I will order more next year.

This cozy flannel nightgown has POCKETS!!!! I was so disappointed when the vintage nightgown was discontinued. I wore that for years as a comfy robe and it was time to replace. I skeptically ordered one of the plaid flannel nightgowns and was so pleased with everything about it. The quality is great, typical LL Bean. The flannel is soft and thick, the neckline is exactly what i wanted and the pleating on the bodice is cute. I know it's a granny gown but at least it has no ruffles and lace. After opening my order, I shook out the nightgown, took off the tags and laundered it. It washed beautifully and much to my extreme delight, upon removing it from the dryer I found the nightgown has pockets. Pockets!! I love pockets! This will be my new robe and I might have to order another one.

I ordered this same nightgown several years ago in an XL and it fit perfectly. This one however seems to be at least 1 size larger; I didn't want the wait to return and exchange for a smaller size, so will be shortening the length by at least 3 inches. Will just live with the rest of the "roominess". Perhaps the manufacturers have enlarged their patterns? Other than the fit, it is such a warm, comfortable nightgown; like wearing a soft blanket to bed!

Soft and warm, brilliant colors...these nightgowns are the gold standard for night time comfort. Wash and dry well. I buy a size up so there's extra fabric instead of a robe. I might add I have five!
