Order a larger size than you usually wear, as the shirt is skimpy. It is also shorter than my older Bean shirts. I probably will not buy any more flannel shirts from Bean as they have shortened them, no collar buttons and often -no pocket. All of these features are important to me and should be in a flannel shirt.

In previous years these were fantastic-long & roomy, so much so that you could layer it. I had all the available colors in petite sizes and lived in them throughout the cold months. This year was a disappointment. The petites are too short in torso area and w-a-y to form fitting for my likeness. I'm glad I still have my old ones as they still are much better.

The material is of good quality, but the cut is subpar. The collar cut is a bit skimpy, compromising the fold - not giving a true fold that is flattering. The fit is too straight-cut to look good on a lot of people

I've worn LLB fleece lined flannels for probably 20 years now. This new one with snaps has issues. I love the pockets and other style changes. But the first one I got came apart at the cuff seam after about a month. Exchanged that for a new one, and then bought another one, same color. One of them just lost a snap in the washer. I guess I should consider myself lucky. Some people are losing multiple snaps.
For $79, this shirt shouldn't be coming apart. And it should actually be made of flannel, not this very light cotton.

I ordered an XS and it fit like a large! So much upsizing happening so that us small women cannot find clothes that fit anymore. If you're not a size 6 or smaller, then this shirt will probably fit fine. If you are on the smaller side, then forget about ordering this shirt unless you don't mind it being boxy and big.

I have a men's version of this that my husband ordered many years ago. It is too big, so last year I jumped at the chance to order this in women's size and beautiful colors. The men's version is still going strong and looks about the same. The women's version showed visible signs of wear in SIX MONTHS in the elbows and sides where the arms rub against the body. In a year there were holes in the elbows, cuffs and inside sleeves. The cotton you are using is thin and doesn't wear well. I reordered two just like the ones I wore out, because they are comfortable and look good. They have not improved, and one of them came with a big hole in the pocket where the seam was missed entirely!! Doesn't anyone inspect these garments?
I am used to quality products from LL Bean, built to stand up to the elements, and I know you will want to know about this, so you can fix it.
Here's the bigger problem: Why are mens clothing always better made and more comfortable than women's? Not just LL Bean, either. Women work just as hard, or harder, for their money. We deserve more respect than this!

The fabric and pattern (Bright Sapphire) and fit are great, but after only a few months I had to return this shirt because one of the cuff snaps pulled into the shirt and stopped working. A button can be replaced but a snap cannot. LL Bean should use buttons instead of snaps wherever possible.

This is an attractive shirt, with lovely colors. However, it was hard to use the snaps, especially the top one, since I couldn't watch what I was doing. I'm usually okay with snaps. Maybe they would work better on a shirt with less bulky material.
I bought a 2x, and it was too large.

The thinnest material I have ever seen on the outside. I thought it was going to rip apart trying to unbutton it to try on I was scared to keep it and wear it. Sent back right away.

I returned this shirt. The fabric was not flannel. It was a very thin fabric with no nap on it at all. Plaid does not equal flannel.

Flannel material not very heavy. Without fleece lining would not be very warm. The back half of the snaps along front of shirt pulling loose from fabric, one completely and others starting to do the same. This happened within first six months of wearing this shirt. Might be a good idea to get rid of the snaps on this shirt and replace with buttons or make it with a better quality fabric, even better reinforcement along where the snaps are placed! Definitely expected better quality in an item priced at $79.00!!! Will be returning this item! LLBean does not sell the level of quality products that they did in the past as their prices rise. I don't mind paying more for something if the quality is worth it, but this item is not! So very disappointing!

I would have bought two or three if it had side/hand pockets. Why is women's clothing still designed with no or tiny pockets?
I own the collared version of this shirt and absolutely LOVE it! Two Chest pockets, two hand pockets, fleece lined collar and cuffs. Perfection!!!

I bought 4 in the past 2 years. I love the warmth, but the fabric over the fleece is FLIMSY, both in cotton and flannel. After a couple of wearings and washings, the outer fabric on 3 of the shirts started to tear and shred around the 2nd button/snap from the bottom. I now don't button the 2 bottom buttons/snaps on the shirts any more. The shirts do NOT fit tightly on the bottom. The fabric is just flimsy.

For what it is, it's okay, definitely not worth the steep price. I ordered my usual size (XL) in the Strawberry color (true to size). Who oh why can't LL Bean make women's fleece lined flannel as good as the men's of the same label? My husband wears his hooded fleece lined flannel daily (he's always cold) and they are a true flannel on the outside, fleece on the inside. Women's fleece lined flannel are NOT flannel on the outside, they are a thin cottony material that washes up terrible. I have washed mine one time, with like colors, in cold, and the button placket is all messed up now. I'm not ironing a flannel shirt. As for the color, it's muted, not a true red or pinkish red. Not pretty. So, I'm left with a jacked up, thin material shirt that really isn't worth the price, even with a few coupons. Bummer.

Since I was ordering from LLBean, I never thought to check where the product was made. I was extremely disappointed when the product arrived, and I discovered it was made in China.
I ordered this for my 106 yr old mom (who's height and weight are in review 5'0", 106 lb). This was slightly tight across her belly when she sits. It's ok for a jacket, but I had hoped she could wear it as a shirt to keep her warm.

The old LL Bean signature "flannel", was thick and durable, lasting a lifetime. This so-called flannel is, well, not flannel! Putting a plaid pattern on a shirt doesn't make it flannel... It's also boxy and frumpy, and not worth $79. I'm giving it 2 stars only because it's super soft and comfortable, but the description is misleading. I'm a Mainer and loyal Bean shopper my whole life and quality on several clothing items seems to be going down down downnnn. Please, LL Bean, stop skimping on quality and bring back a fleece lined REAL FLANNEL shirt!

Several other reviews pointed out that this isn't a flannel shirt and they were absolutely right: there isn't a stitch of flannel to be found on this so-called flannel shirt. The fleece is okay but the thin cotton (not flannel) outer layer is flimsy, and doesn't have the same heft as the fleece. This makes the shirt look rumpled and shapeless, like the cotton can't hold the insulating material in place. That was disappointing, but also the color is much more drab in person than I thought it would be. Like, I seriously had to double check to see if I received the actual color I ordered. Not nice enough to wear out, and not sturdy enough to even handle yard work, I'm afraid the only category this shirt truly fits is "dud".

I have 3 fleece lined flannels shirts bought before 2014. I figured the snap front would be a great easy on / easy off addition for those extra cold winter walks. (Insulation of the old shirts is fabulous!) Very disappointed that the fleece has changed. The old fleece was unbelievably soft, warm, and comfortable. The new fleece is not as nice. Very disappointed by the change but will keep this shirt for days that are not quite so cold. What happened LL Bean?

I purchased the previous year version of this womens lined flannel top. It was MUCH better than this. The cut was much more flattering with the straight hem at the bottom rather than a shirttail hem, more elegant buttons rather than lame snaps, and no side pockets which are comfortable but add bulkiness. Its easy to find lined flannel items that add ten pounds to your look, but difficult to find something that actually looks nice. Last year's model did look nice, this year's is just dumpy and common.

I love the colors, fit and and just the right warmth of this shirt, but the quality just isn't there. I wore it a couple of times and threads started to come apart on it and a hole was forming on the front. The outer material seems very thin. I wanted to return it but wanted it for a trip I was about to take, so I just tried to patch up the hole with a little sewing. Love the shirt but very disappointed in the quality and durability.

My husband has three of the LL Bean fleece lined flannel shirts and so I had high expectations of this new shirt. Unfortunately, the flannel is not the same soft flannel as in the men's or kids products, which are both wonderful. However, the fabric in the women's shirt makes sticking my hands in the pockets a scratchy uncomfortable experience. Also, it was not very warm whenI wore it outside. I'm not happy with the purchase. I will say that it is seems well constructed.

Wash in cold water, tumble dry low. The "flannel" material is thin and seems cheap.
