Love this coat. Fits perfectly, is warm, and looks great. I ordered the gunmetal grey and the color is beautiful.
As other reviewers have noted, order one size larger than you normally would. I am 5'-11" 185lbs with an athletic body type and the large is spot-on.
I am giving only 3 stars because there is no outside or inside chest pocket. That is a major design flaw, IMO. Not sure how the designers thought that was acceptable, but buyer beware.
Other than that I was very pleased with this purchase.

Strange fit under the arms. Not as warm as my 850. Probably should have gotten the hoodless 850 instead. Looks good so gonna keep for 40 and above weather.

I have 4 other Bean jackets which fit fine but I was disappointed that this was more snug than I like even though it is an extra large, which the others are also. If I had been able to try it on, I sure I would not have bought it.

Could be a nice basic down jacket, nothing fancy, but the interior fabric grabs at everything and doesn't rest well against other fabrics. It ends up being difficult to put on, and it does run very small, especially for Bean's products.

Jacket is warm. However, the sleeves are cut very weird. It's hard getting your arms into the sleeves and the lining always sticks out of the bottom of the sleeve.

3/4 Fleece lining makes this jacket hard to put on. Sewn into top of sleeve.
Even dress shirts stick to it and pull shirt sleeves up into jacket sleeves.
Need time to get jacket just right before placing hat and gloves on.
Other than that I like the jacket. Good fit and warm!

The jacket was just delivered. I immediately tried it on. I would never be accused of being muscle bound but I had to force my arms through the sleeves. The jacket looked nice but no one but Twiiggy could layer up with it.

I purchased a Large for my (muscular) son. All of his LL Bean clothes in Large fit perfectly. This coat, while beautiful, was a huge disappointment as he could not even get it on both arms! Way too small!!! :(

Jacket is sized to be worn with no layers underneath. I am a 5' 8", 139 lb. man in my seventies and the sleeves in the size " medium" are too tight with only a flannel shirt on underneath. I have returned for a size " large" and hope the sleeves will be larger. The jacket is thin but seemed warm. Have not used in the outdoors since it was returned.

It is more fitted than expected out of a winter coat. Will be hard to layer. Wish coat was straight instead of tapered to waist.

Definitely dissatisfied with his purchase. Not the quality that I anticipated from LL Bean. The lining was difficult to keep in place while trying to put on and takeoff the jacket. Other aspects of the coat were ok. However, the jacket was more trouble than it was worth, so I returned it.

Most LL bean items I have purchased are generously sized. This coat is way too tight. I will be returning.

In an engineering feat that borders insanity, this down SWEATER has ZERO pockets other than the 2 hand pockets. I dont get it.... i am considering returning it because of this, even at better than 50% off.

The jacket has two pockets on the outside and ZERO pockets on the inside. Carrying a cellphone is a must and this jacket does not provide a convenient way to do it. The outside pockets are not safe for carrying a cellphone.

The jacket was much lighter in fill than expected and much tighter than my other "Large" LL Bean down jacket. I returned it.

Bought this in a tall and it did not arrive as a tall, very disappointing considering we are in the polar vortex now

This is a very nice jacket that delivers on warmth and styling. However when I put it on the gold colored liner comes out of sleeve with my hand and requires reaching into the sleeve at armpit to pull it back into lower sleeve or jumping up and down allowing the liner to get in the correct position. Very annoying. I will be returning it. PS. A small inside pocket would also be a worthy addition.

It's a nice coat, but it's to small in arm pits. No room to move arms around.

I bought a 3XL and it fit more like a 1XL. It was so small it didn't fit my shoulders and didn't even come close to covering me enough to zip it up. They don't have a bigger size so no coat for me.

The fit and feel of this jacket was very good. The reason for two stars was the numerous places on the jacket where the down was pushing through. I don't know if a more durable outer fabric would remedy this issue but I returned it because of this.

I found poor design in the sleeve lining. The lining would stick way out-more than 3 inches-and was unsightly and prone to soiling and tearing. Not wearable, really.
