This Parka is excellent. It keeps out rain & snow and above all keeps me warm. Also it has lots of pockets to store just about anything.

All around an excellent product. It has good warmth and multiple pockets in a remarkably light parka.

Ordered for my son during the cold snap. Prompt delivery. Quality of coat better than expected. Super comfortable and warm. Customer service was great to track order. Knew exactly when was delivered.

This coat will keep you very warm in the cold days of winter and it also keeps the wind chill off you as well. A beautiful coat and well worth the money with the "DownTek"!

I had been looking for a long time for a coat that would keep me warm and dry in NH's cold, snowy weather. My old L.L. Bean coat had given up the ghost after 15 years or more faithful service. I had stopped by the outlet store in Concord a few times, but hadn't found the right coat, or fit. I tried one more time, and happened to be in the store when Aaron was restocking the coats. I told him what I was looking for and showed him some of the coats which hadn't worked for me. Aaron pulled out a Baxter State Parka and suggested I try it. It had just come in that day! It was warm, claimed to be waterproof, and fit perfectly! I have since walked the dog in minus 25 windchills, and snow, ice, and rain storms, and have remained warm and dry! This coat is the ticket if you're looking for something long enough to go below your waist, warm, windproof, and waterproof. I love this coat. And Aaron was very helpful and informative.

First, shout out to LL Bean customer service for helping me get my first coat swapped for the right size. This coat is great. Big pockets, very warm, looks great. I moved to Michigan from CO and didn't realize how much colder the winter would be (probably because of the humidity). As such I needed a heavier jacket for my walk into work. This coat has been a real blessing.

This jacket is very sturdy and reliable and looks great as well! I had my first one for over four years and finally bought this new one. The jacket fits very well and provides enough protection for Chicago winters (provided you wear multiple layers underneath!)

Perfect for freezing windy days. It's like it's not even cold out. Pockets for everything. The quality justifies the price tag, easily.

I waited a while to write my review. I purchased it in early December. I live a block from the ocean on a peninsula in MA. The wind is always blowing in the wintertime. I walk every day with my dog. There were a few days with single digits and 25 mph winds. It kept me unbelievably comfortable. I did notice above 45F it is too warm. The zipper works flawlessly. The coat is longer so the double zipper works great for driving in the car.

A really warm jacket for Yellowstone Winter. Washed well in the machine also.

The Baxter has gotten its share of criticism, understandably, for it isn't perfect. Few products are, so it's a matter of tradeoffs.Two common complaints: It's heavy (undeniably) and it's cut very full (undeniably). The weight brings with it, however, a tough outer shell, a remarkable system of pockets, and a lot of warmth (especially if you use the hood with the ruff attached). The fullness does make getting a good fit a problem. I'm 6 feet and 150 pounds. I have to go with size medium even though it's too roomy; but with a heavy sweater it's fine. I purchased my first Baxter in gray heather six years ago which is still in excellent shape, but recently purchased another one in dark red for the color. It's a beautiful dark red which makes me visible when I walk. The side pockets would be better if they were at an angle (as critics have pointed out) but its a minor issue. In red the coat is quite distinctive, a nice change from the sea of black jackets, and it's a pleasure to wear.

This coat is extremely warm . You will start to overheat quickly if your wearing it indoors.

You can feel protected out in the cold in this winter parka.

Had a similar LL Bean coat for 7-8 years. Expect this coat to last as long.

While I like the warmth, coverage and deep hood of these parkas I must say they are huge. I had ordered a large as I usually do in coats, and I could have fit two of me in it. I have returned that and received the medium I ordered, and it should be labeled a large. I see where 73% of reviews say true to fit - that is totally wrong.

Purchased the Baxter parka and another parka from a different brand for my husband and he chose the Baxter. This parka is very well made, keeps him warm in very cold Michigan weather and is nice looking. His only suggestion is that LL Bean use a better quality of fabric on the inside collar area (because the fabric currently used is a bit stiff/rough).

Love the fit. Just what I was looking for my grandson who is very tall and who do not like puffery jackets or coats.

My son loves the jacket. Fits perfect. Glad I went for the large tall.

Excellent purchase. 1,000% waterproof and very warm in 20 degree weather. Hope not to test it below that.
