Ordered jacket online and it was way too large. Took to LL Bean in Danbury and they were so nice. I exchange it for correct size and I could t be happier. Keeps me warm and dry!

I have not had the chance to wear this in severe weather yet, but it is well made and has many nice design details. Internal cuffs seem effective. Fabric seems sturdy yet is not too bulky. Grey fabric actually looks nicer in person than it does in the pictures. Fits what I would consider normal for a Medium, which is what I usually wear. Would be fine over a sweater or a wool shirt, but would prefer a Large if I was planning to layer it over more clothes. Only complaint--the entrances of the upper pockets are awkward to reach.

Really a great coat, I bought it largely for football games - and so far two cold cold games and I was toasty warm without a lot of bulk!

First of all let me say I am always on the cold side. I'm not one of those guys that can wear shorts and a T-shirt below 32. I live in Colorado, prior to buying the Baxter'state parka I had to wear 3 to 5 layers on cold nights. This coat is very warm I do not have to layer up anymore but if I had to there is room in this jacket to do so. I think it fits true to size This Parka has a smooth zipper, And adjustable hood so it fits just right. Very happy with my purchase and I would recommend this Parka to anyone who needs a warm coat.

Pro: warm, but not for Siberia. Waterproof. The long version will cover the mid-thigh. Con: Not for Siberia. The long version has longer sleeves and the pockets are lower.

First off it does run big. I got the xxl because I like things roomy but that was way too big. This jacket has been through everything here on Cape Cod where the temps get down to the single digits with lots of wind. The conditions are no match for this jacket. Do NOT believe any reviewer that says its not warm. No wind or snow gets in. I shoveled in a full on blizzard last year and it was beyond comfy and warm. Buy it

You can feel the warmth the moment you put it on. Zipper gets stuck at the bottom occasionally.

This Parka fits me very well and keeps me very warm even through wind blown cold air! I am so glad that this coat is rated for temperatures down to -45 F because I become cold very easily! This is the perfect cold weather coat for me and I highly recommend it to anyone who would like to stay warm and comfortable especially when the temperatures and the windchill drops down below freezing! I also chose the "Bright Red" color for safety reasons with the time changes making it darker outside earlier through the late Fall, Winter, and early Spring months! It is my go to coat when the elements are cold!

I needed a new winter coat and while I have not traditionally been a fan of down, because of the Downtek treatment and the TEK membrane, I decided to give this one a try. Honestly I could not be happier with it. It's a solidly built and heavy parka. The outer fabric is tough and won't tear if you're actually doing things like carrying wood or any other activity that would shred the lighter jackets. The waist draw cord lets you cinch in the heat and seal out the winds. The cuffs are knit with a Velcro closure over them allowing for gloves to be covered and seal out the weather. The hood is also functional and warm. Walking around in temps in the 30's with wind, I'm comfortable with just a t-shirt. If it's really cold and I need a fleece or sweater, there's plenty of room for that. And the pockets! Great storage options with big and roomy pockets that are well thought out and functional. I can say without a doubt that I'll be wearing this parka for years. Way to go Bean's. This one is a home run.

I had the old design (25 years ago) and that was warm. The new design in significantly better and even warmer-hood design is great. Much better wind protection. Thanks for upgrading the features and keeping the price reasonable.

My parka arrived just in time to take it to Edmonton, Alberta Canada to visit extended family. The temperature never got above 25F with lows of 10F.

This parka is the second one ordered. The last one was 8 years ago. The zipper got tricky after all those years ...it keeps my husband toasty warm. He's 75 years old.

This jacket is much diffrent than my old Baxtar State Parka. It is lighter and fits much better, but then again, I gained a few pounds. I sent the old parka, which was hardly used, to my son. He is going to love it. I'm looking forward to some colder weather so I can try out my new parka.

I live in Georgia - it's 92 degrees right now. I won't be wearing this parka until January - in Alaska. I ordered a XXL so I could layer it over other garments. The cut and fit are excellent; the color is true to the website. Delivery was prompt. I fully expect to get great use from this parka.

The coat fits very well, and I like that the length is about a little longer than mid-thigh. It is well insulated without being "bulky"

I've compared parkas from four companies and from all reviews I've read, this was the best rated at the most reasonable price.

Warm, well made sturdy coat for the long Vermont winters. Runs BIG but we ordered 3 different sizes to try at home and ended up keeping the medium. Free shipping and free returns with the use of our LLBean credit card (plus Bean Bucks) is a win-win shopping experience.

One beast of a coat! Will get you through any winter. Fit was great; no trouble with the zipper. Expect this to last for a LONG time. Very pleased
