I bought this coat in December and loved it! It reminds me of a warm hug on a cold winter day. I bought the green Baxter State Parka. It's stylish and keeps me warm. All the pockets are great for hands, keys, wallet and phone. I am sad that spring is here because I can't wear my Baxter. However, it gives me something to look forward to this winter

My husband needed a coat to replace a much-beloved coat that had finally died. He was so excited to receive this replacement as a birthday gift. It met all of his important requirements: really warm, lots of pockets, and easy on and off with a well-functioning zipper.

Got this for my 87-year-old father and he loves it even though he didn't need to wear it too many times this past winter. Well made and very warm!

Bought this for my husband for Christmas. He absolutely loves it and doesn't stop saying that. We live in the northeast with snowy, windy sometimes awful weather. This coat blocks the wind and keeps him dry. Highly recommend.

Nice and warm, and just discovered two more pockets (a wallet pocket and a zipper pocket) on the inside left-hand side!

Exactly what i needed for this year's "winter". High winds at times, wet snow at times, freezing rain at times. This parka kept me warm and the shell definitely sheds both rain and wind.

I purchased this coat to survive the cold and windy Chicago winters. My Baxter State Parka has performed beyond my expectations, keeping me warm and dry in temps down to zero plus wind chill. I have had no problems with the zipper like other reviewers have mentioned. I enjoy all the pocket options, the hood,, and Velcro wrist straps for keeping out the snow and can kid air. I think this coat is well-made and a tremendous value for the money.

Very good looking parka, and very very warm with the right layering. Some reviewers give it bad marks for not being very warm but it is made with extra room so you can add layers as needed the colder it gets. To get a parka to keep you warm in Zero degrees without a second coat underneath costs at least 800.00 and it's going to be very very heavy, and that super heavy coat is only good in extreme cold. This one has a wider temperature range because it not so super thick but has ample room to layer more and more as the temp goes down. I wore it in 5 degrees F, with a wind chill of -10 with LL bean long sleeve T, LL bean long sleeve polo and LL Bean lightly insulated spring jacket underneath and I was hot. I over did it but I was testing the parka. It really is the best bang for the buck to buy this for 300.00 and layer up as needed than to pay 800.00 for a super heavy coat that is only good in extreme cold.

I shopped around for a mid winter coat and this coat stood out from the pack. Luckily, there is a LLB store in Columbus so I was able to try on different styles/prices and this fit best. It was tested in below zero wind chills; it passed easily. Not cheap, but in my opinion a good value.

Great Parkatotally keeps him warm. We live in Arizona at a 5000 ft elevation. It has been in the 20's at night and it really is well made and does it job. Thank you LL Bean!

On the coldest day of the year. -25 degrees windchill down to over -60 at times I was wearing a turtleneck and chamois shirt and I was nice and warm in my coat with no effects from the wind. Will definitely keep me warm on normal Maine winter days. Definitely an excellent choice for comfort

In an earlier review I gave it 4 stars.
Now, a few months later, let's take it to 5.
I need a warm coat to walk my dog. We walk between 3-5 miles each day, regardless of the weather in Upstate NY.
I did 6 miles yesterday during the Northeast cold snap.
Barely felt it!
It is warm, the fit is perfect, the hood is great. I gave it 4 stars last time because the openings on two of the chest pockets were difficult to access.
Doesn't matter - plenty of other pockets to use.
My one criticism, which I've seen elsewhere - the zipper is a bit thin and skimpy for a coat this size. A slightly bigger, wider zipper would make this coat perfect.

This is a serious coat to keep out the cold to double-digit below zero temperatures to as high as the high +30's (Fahrenheit). Glad I bought it. It will keep these 80 year-old bones nice and toasty this winter and in the future. The L.L. Bean sizing was spot on. Love the bright red color.

This parka is big and warm. It cuts the wind like mad. It's incredibly bulky. Take it off inside. Be careful with the zipper.

Great heavy winter coat. I returned it due to a broken zipper but would consider it again next winter. It had ample pockets and a detachable hood which is a nice option
