Coat that keeps you warm in very cold temps! Although being a little large it has good mobility for its size. I love mine!

I am very pleased with my purchase. The parka is very comfortable and warm in cold weather. It appears to be very well made. I am very pleased with the color and texture. As I have seen in other posts I think the sizing has a tendency to run slightly on the larger side and the sleeves are on the longer side. Others have mentioned that the down works its way out from the inside and leaves feathers on your clothing, this I agree and is a little bit frustrating. It is a coat that appears is made to last and I feel is well worth its price.

I love it so far. It is exactly what I wanted, a coat that you don't even have to think about it, it will keep you warm. Lots of pockets, slightly more rugged exterior than the glossy puffy coats, and the hood is modifiable in multiple ways. I live in Vermont, and this is not my coat for outdoor exertion, like skiing or snowshoeing, but it's the go to for all the real cold stuff: winter commuting, standing around waiting for buses, watching kids run around outside for hours, etc.

How good is this parka? My father passed his down to me. It's as warm as you'd ever want a parka to be. When I go out in nasty weather, I'm comfy inside it, and it seems durable enough that I may be able to pass it down to my son

Very warm and durable! Bought this coat for my son. He has a bit of a distance to walk from his car into school and this coat keeps home nice and warm.

We finally had the weather to put this parka to the test. Warm, and super comfortable. I should have bought this years ago.

I just purchased my second one of these coats, The first one is still going strong, it is I that have outgrown it! This time I purchased a Large in the Heather Green. The actual color is darker and has a more solid look than the online pictures and I really love it. The parka is comfortably warm, the hood works great and when zipped up high your face is fully protected from the nose down, no real need for a scarf. The storm cuffs cause the sleeve length to work perfectly for those of us with possibly shorter arms. I have seen a couple of postings about the zipper...It is only an issue if the bottom zipper (it has a double zipper) has been nudged up from it's very bottom location from sitting or squatting. Once you reposition it back down it all works well. Great Parka for the Cold!

I bought my parka in 1999 . Still looks brand new . Best winter coat I ever had . I've gone out in the cold when its 5* and below ...WITH NO SHIRT and never felt the slightest bit of chill . Just incredible. Of course everything the bean has to offer is of the highest quality and superior customer service

Very happy with my purchase. This parka is comfortable! Wearing a short sleeved t shirt and this jacket, in warm in around 10f Temps, with a merino wool sweater and this jacket it's easy to withstand -5f Temps with significant windchill.. down to -40f The hand warmer pockets are the only thing I wasn't really impressed with, they're not very ergonomical.

This Parka is a lifesaver at -34 F . Want to outfit the whole family!!!

Bought this jacket about 5 years ago and still love it. Only wear it when the weather is real cold or snowing. Keeps me nice and toasty, highly recommend!

Got this for my husband who works outside. He usually does not rave about anything but he is thrilled with the coat. He says his coworkers are shivering while he remains toasty warm. The size is accurate and the quality lives up to LL Bean standards

The Baxter State Parka takes the cake. It's my most awesome, warmest coat that I save for the worst parts of the year. I love it. It's plush and comfortable and most importantly warm. The inside is great for wearing anything from a short sleeve t-shirt to a base layer. There are large pockets (some snap, some zip) all over the place, even one on the sleeve. The collar is comfortable on your skin (face & neck) in even the coldest weather and the hood is fantastic. The hood has an additional extension that you see in the photos with the fur trim that is an amazing contribution to keeping your head warm and protecting you from wind in even the most blustery winter weather. This jacket is hard to beat in nearly every way. The only thing I would point out is that it has a thickness to it that , to me, makes it so warm and comfortable but of course keeps it from being stowable or packable in any way. It's beautifully thick and that's not going to be what you are looking for in every situation, such as international air travel - I doubt there would be anywhere good to stow this on an airplane, for instance. I got the Kelp Green Heather color which I think looks great. We've taken this to places like Niagara Falls, Canada, Buffalo, New York, Manhattan and Philadelphia in the dead of winter and it performed amazingly. The outer material is tough and I've found it to be completely wind proof and water proof. I do not have any hesitation to where this in both the windiest and rainiest, of days. Clear winner, the Baxter State Parka. As an add-on, they make Baxter State gloves and mittens for men & women to match your super coat perfectly.

I love this coat. Craftsmanship is excellent. Super wa and comfortable. My ONLY criticism is to add Zipper Pulls to the Two inner pockets that don't have them. I ordered Zipper pulls online and it is Much easier to open and close these strategic pockets.

These coats are great I groom ski trails late in the evenings in all kinds of winter conditions riding either a ATV or snowmobile and am always warm. They are also pretty durable holding up to a lot of abuse while working the trails. I bought a second coat even before my first is fully worn out just to insure I had a backup. Now we just need more SNOW so I can wear mine more.

Now that I have been a retired crossing guard for a number of years my parka still serves me well.

Good quality. Very warm and plenty of pockets. Fit is spot on. Worth the money. I would recommend any ll Bean product.

Fantastic coat, very warm and perfect for a Minnesota winter.

This coat is proving to be as warm and comfortable as I hoped it would be - and I love the color but it could have been a deeper color of red. When I needed a new coat, I knew that L. L. Bean would have what I needed.
