Ordered the coat with a gift card Christmas present. We don't get too many really cold days in Ohio but this coat is great for those days. It is heavier than I expected but it is really pleasantly warm.

Once again, another product, as advertised by Bean. Quality is the theme with this parka. Being a shrinking, expanding boomer, had to send the large back for the X-Large, and it is perfect. So don't be afraid of the size bet. Warmth, comfort, looks. So glad I got the red.

I already owned three LL Bean costs, two wool and one waxed cotton down jacket. Up until the purchase of the Baxter, three months ago, my waxed cotton was my warmest. I had a chance to test with temps at -25 combined with strong north winds. No problem, nice and warm. Room for base layer and sweater if needed. Love my LL Beans as they have tall sizes. All of mine are large Tall and the fit is excellent. May I add our golden doodle is named Baxter. This is a coincidence as have had the parka three months and our Baxter for three years. I guess some may name their favorite pet after their favorite parka.

The best winter coat I have ever owned! I feels like you are wrapped in a warm blanket even when walking at minus 15 degrees.

If it's not perfect in every way, it's very close. Super warm, comfortable fit, great shell fabric, many different pockets for storage, functional and well-fitting hood, good-looking. I've had other LL Bean parkas that were good. This one is great.

Excellent coat; walking the dogs on an 8 degree F morning, i was warm as could be. I only just purchased the coat; the material and make seem very sturdy (though time will tell).

I received my XTRA Large Regular Baxter State Parka a week before Christmas. I like everything about it EXCEPT that the Pocket where you slide your hand in are a little bit too low for the length of my arms. My height is 5'9". I Ordered XTRA Large so that I could layer under the Parka. I am glad I did.I like this Parka because it is vey WARM and resistant to thorn abrasions.I was walking past my Rose Bush and accidentally rubbed against it...NO tears!!! I saw Negative reviews about the double zippers. NOT TRUE these ZIPPERS are GREAT!!!! Those "reviewers" do NOT know how to ZIP and use Double Zippers!!!!

Warmest jacket I've ever had, but lite-weight and comfortable as well. Fur lining on hood is removable, as well as the hood itself. Should be good for the fall and spring as well. Very satisfied. Only negative, I wish it were made in the USA. Maybe one more family could afford to buy this too.l

Bought for my grandson who told me it kept him warm in freezing Christmas weather

An expensive item for my budget but it performs. Sizing is big. I am 6'3", 240lbs and felt the Large Tall was the best fit. The XL was a bit boxy and looked like it was wearing me. The exchange process was super easy. I have been out with it in multiple -20 wind chill (and worse) conditions and it has kept me warm on all occasions. Only one all day rain, but again no issues as it kept me 100% dry. Was out in a few warmer days and I'd say upper 30s is the max before it gets too hot. When hiking I've used the bottom zipper to release excess heat which has been convenient. The abundance of pockets makes me feel like Hagrid. The two chest pockets are nice for phone and wallet. Deep mesh internal pockets are convenient - I've kept extra neck warmers and mittens for my daughter with out it looking or feeling bulky. I should have purchased years ago - A+.

I live in Wisconsin and bought this 10 years ago for one reason - to keep warm. It has not failed ! Today it was -3 and windy with a wind chill of -30. I did some shoveling, some standing around, and every part the parka covered was just fine. I had the fur strip attached and the hood up, which I don't often. That is the warmest. Of course it limits the peripheral vision. In other weather I unzip the hood and wear hats. Works great then too. Love the high chamois lined neck. I've not worn it skiing, as it's Bulky and honestly not the best look. But if I had to, I would. In fact with its length it would help keep one's backside warm on a chairlift. It's for warmth - and it has always delivered.

I have previously had Canadian brand parkas but this parka is the warmest and most comfortable that I have ever worn! Also, it has been to Canada several times in very cold weather! Love it!

I live in Minnesota where cold weather is normal and frequent. I bought this coat to deal with these conditions and it has exceeded in every circumstance. I remain extremely warm and comfortable while doing outdoor activities and would recommend it to everyone who spends time outside in extreme winter conditions.

My husband had the same L.L. Bean parka for over 35 years--and would still have it if it hadn't been stolen along with our car. This is his Christmas present, although since it's been pretty cold where we live, I gave it to him early! You can't beat the quality and durability of products from L.L. Bean. This jacket is warm, and stylish (although husband has removed the fur on the hood).

This is my second one of these coats. Still have the first one and it still preforms like it was brand new. This coat has plenty of storage and warmth even for the coldest and windy days

My Baxter State Parka Men's Regular is an excellent winter coat. It keeps me consistently warm and comfortable.
