Super fit and unbelievably warm. Plenty of pockets and all good size. Love that the hood is detachable so only need to put it on in really cold, windy weather. Highly recommended.

I had one of these for about 20 years. The cuffs eventually began to fray and it was tired looking. But I was reluctant to get a new one because I was sure it wouldn't compare with the original. Finally, I gave in and ordered this one. I was wrong; this one is even better. It is lighter but warmer. On moderate days it's comfortable. On colder days it just seems warmer. I have worn it between 35 degrees and 15 degrees and been equally warm and comfortable. It moves when I move, the pockets are perfectly placed for function, the sleeves don't bind around my arms, the zippers line up and operate smoothly. It doesn't look like arctic survival gear. It's actually somewhat refined looking. An incredible bargain at the price.

I love it. I've always wanted one and I bought one this year. It's really comfortable it blocks the wind and the hood stops the chills going down your neck too. I have a large. It's roomy but not too much. What I like is I can wear a turtle neck without an extra layer. The coat is very warm. Buy this coat if you are tired of wearing multiple layers.

This is the second of these I've had. They're incredibly warm, have pockets in all the right places, and the last one lasted 10 years of Wisconsin winters. What more do you want?

Owned this jacket about 15 years ago. Bought the same one. Warm and has lots of pockets.

I bought this coat to replace a 14 year old Baxter State Parka. Very happy with purchase. It is basically the same cost that I purchased 14 years ago. Same exact pockets. Medium ran a bit large for me so I bought a small. Warm and toasty for Chicago winters.

The quality of fabrics used were outstanding. The fit was perfect for me. The thread used was heavy duty and will last a long time as well as the zippers. The extra stitching shows me the attention to detail that most company's miss in making a long lasting and very warm coat. For me this coat meets everything advertised and then some. Well worth the price.

For my 16 year old son who is super hard to please. He loves this coat, it's fashion forward enough for him and also very warm, clearly very durable which is critical. Plenty of pockets, fits true to size, not too puffy. Excellent coat!

I do like the coat but it was on the expensive side but I figured since I was spending the money I should get a good quality coat as it is but the price is way to high you should lower it by 100.00

This parka is the standard by which all parkas should be judged saw me through many a brutal cold winter over 10 years!!!

Nice to find a Large, Tall jacket that is warm enough for Wisconsin winters. Other jackets claim to be warm, but do not live up to the hype. This is the warmest jacket I found.

Beautiful and as warm as you could ever get in a jacket! I bought this same jacket over 30 years ago and I'm here to do it again.

It gets pretty cold here in Denver in the winter. This coat can handle it! It is very comfortable and keeps me warm and dry for all my outdoor activities. I had my previous LL Bean down parka for about 25 years and it served my well all that time. I expect my new Baxter State Parka to give it a run for the money.

Typical LL Bean excellent quality. Parka fits well. Love the details. Love the pockets. This will be the warmest coat that I have ever owned. yea!

Love the parka. Just what I wanted. I read all the reviews about the fit being too large, so I went to the store to try it on before buying. The reviews were right. I'm typically a large coat/jacket, and the medium was obviously the best fit for the Baxter State Parka. I was swimming in the large. Very, very happy with my purchase.

Warmest coat I've had. Kept me warm at -20 degree wind chill. Great quality. Heavy duty Zippers. Knitted cuffs. Waterproof. Nice pockets. Nice hood.

I've always been happy with products from Bean's, and that includes this jacket. I bought it as a retirement gift, thinking this was the time for a top-of-the-line jacket. The recipient is now warm and happy.

I bought this parka some 10 or 11 years ago and sent it back because it was shedding down. In exchange, I bought the Rugged Ridge parka. After trying that parka on, I immediately regretted returning the Baxter State as the Rugged Ridge was not nearly as warm, but I kept the Rugged Ridge. It was OK, just not as warm. Anyway, my Rugged Ridge was lost, so I decided to give the Baxter State another chance. It still sheds a little down, but not enough to be concerned about it. I only notice 1 or 2 pieces of down stuck to my shirt after removing the parka. The zipper could be sturdier but it's OK. The overall material of the parka is sturdy. It won't rip easily. This parka is by far the warmest coat I have ever owned. Very warm. I live in Pennsylvania so it doesn't get as cold here as in other places in the world further north. In 25 degree weather, I only need a T-shirt underneath. I would definitely buy the Baxter State parka again.
