I purchased this backpack about 3 weeks ago. Built to last. I strongly suggest if your are interested in this backpack, or you just got one, to watch the videos. "Play along" if you can. There are all sorts of capabilities that I would have missed if I didn't.

We bought this for a sailing trip but have tried it out in advance and are amazed at how much we can fit in the pack, especially with the compression sacks. It will be a loyal travel companion for years to come.

After a week of use, I am very satisfied with it. Many compartments, variability, high capacity. If you are hesitating on a bag of this size, don't do it anymore... :)

Very good bag overall. Zippers and outer covering waterproof on all day hikes. Good for 2-5 day trips. Maybe could use another external or small internal pockets behind the wall lined mesh for organizing internally or externally while travelling. The ID pouch is too small for passport or airline ticket, so not useful internationally. Only major complaint is that the shoulder straps are a bit thin, when bag is full and use for 4-5 day trip then it starts to ache on the shoulders fairly quickly. Could do with a couple more millimeters of foam padding, both in depth and width. Otherwise, extremely happy

The perfect travel backpack. After watching and reading countless reviews, and even trying a different product, I finally purchased this backpack, and do not regret it. It is lightweight, well made, and extremely versatile. I have used it on several short trips and I had room to spare. I mainly purchased for an upcoming trip to Norway and cannot wait to update this review with that experience.

we use this bag while travelling with the kids. Very roomy, great storage, comfortable to wear on longer walks especially due to the waist strap. The expansion capability means you really fit a lot in - more than you want to carry for any length of time. Super helpful though when you need to move lots of stuff between places.
the bag and straps pack away well making it easy to store the bag while travelling on transport. Also very helpful when shoving the bag under a table at a restaurant or bar.
Accessing the contents through the side and using the PD camera cubes is as easy as they show in the clips online. I typically travel with the small cube clipped to the inside and find this still leaves lots of room in the bag.
The bag packs down well when its not full, making it easy to wear on long walks. Its still not a small bag though so I wouldnt call it an everyday carry - we also own the 30l backpack and find that a better day bag when your not carrying big loads. the 45l bag is also relatively heavy even when empty but this is the price you pay for a solid bag that holds its shape to protect your contents. Also has a nice clean design.

I bought this a month ago and it arrived quickly. The build quality, versatility and attention to detail are the standout features of this backpack. Truly a must for all types of travel, alongside the packing cubes.

Got this for an upcoming 2 week Europe trip. Love the organization, access from the sides, the straps and how they hide. Did a lot of research on bags and ended up with this, despite it being a bit expensive. Love it and ended up buying a second for my wife.

Bought for upcoming trip to Europe and will be doing carryon only. This, along with my Peak Design camera bag, should handle all my clothing and gear needs.

Just purchased this backpack, now on a month long trip overseas, awesome bag!! High quality construction. A lot of room and compartments, it consolidated so many items, from a laptop, electronics, toiletries, boots, clothing, and more..with still spaces to put otherwise thingsmore than enough room and the zipper system makes access easy to the various compartments!! Excellent purchase, you can't go wrong buying this bag!!!

Very happy with this backpack. The expandable volume, the hidden straps, the magnetic flap closure, the metal clips, full 180 degree opening main pocket, side access, hidden document storage. It's a very nice product that I really appreciate... The amount of time and intention that went into this product is apparent and appreciated.

I've been collecting bags and trying out different combinations throughout the years. This bag was my answer! Great design, rugged, and absolutely love the hardware.

One of the most trustworthy backpacks for filming/photographing in the market. but it is heavy by itself, it weighs 20-25kg once I load all my equipment.

I had my first 45L travel bag from Peak Design for over three years. It held up great and saw a million miles of air travel, literally. It's the only travel bag I've ever owned that actually received unsolicited compliments from strangers during my travels, seriously. I'd still have it but I think something got caught in the zipper one time when I was zipping it up and the zipper came off the track. I contacted Peak Design's customer service and they got back to me right away with instructions on how to make a warranty claim. Rome was the customer service rep helping me out through the whole process and he did an excellent job. Peak Design sent me a new bag free of charge along with a label to send the old bag back. I was sad to see my old bag go, but the replacement is identical, built with the same high quality and attention to detail. In fact, I think they may have beefed up the zippers a little on my newer bag!

I never thought to find another backpack as this.
I can even go without problem with Ryanair as carry on. Maybe 45l sounds to little for someone who is a backpacker, but believe me theres a great space on it.

I've been using this backpack for ~6 months now and, with one small exception, it has been fantastic. It has a very large main compartment that aligns well with the size of their packing cubes, which I also love. The zippers on the main compartment allow the back to be opened completely, supporting easier view-ability and access to your stuff. Outside the main compartment, there are plenty of additional storage/attachment options that cover all of my needs.
The only issue I've run into was the sewing on the velcro for the device compartment, which came unraveled after a month or two. I raised the issue to the company and they resolved it quickly and completely.

I spent way too much time researching the perfect travel pack but I made the perfect choice. The quality, features, pockets, and tuck away straps are all A+. I just got back from a month long trip in Costa Rica. I'm 5'4" and 120 pounds and it's so comfortable to carry around airports, etc (heavy of course but the hip belts are awesome). Love it!! Hoping we're wedded for life.

Even though this bag is marketed heavily towards camera owners the bags versatility and organization made it my go to choice for travel.

I highly recommend this pack! This was a Xmas present to myself. I used it for the first time last month for a one-week international business trip (casual dress, but colder climate). I've been a one-bagger (really one plus a shoulder bag for business) for a while, and the PD Travel Backpack handled everything just fine. You really need to explore it to know its features and the best way to pack different loads, which gives you many options.
Weight distribution in a travel pack is critical for me because of back and shoulder issues. The Travel Backpack's helped immensely, and the pack rides very well. My only hassle was when I lost the sternum strap. The shoulder straps were not optimally placed. Lesson learned: you need to secure the strap well to avoid losing it when using the overhead bins in planes. I've now purchased a couple of extras.

Love the size of this backpack and the ability to turn to 45l when needed. Works even better with my peakdesign packing cubes. Love the sage color too!

The amount of thought that went into designing this bag is immediately apparent. The bag is very accessible, comfortable, holds a ton of items without feeling bulky, and just works better than any other travel backpack I have used. On top of that, the quality of the materials is great. Highly recommend this bag!!
