I researched heavily before finding and buying this bag, but nothing compared to the experience of it in real life! The quality and exceptional use cases of this bag make a compete one stop shop for me when it comes to a travel bag.

Just got this. One bag travel for the win. Love the innovation, comfort and organization. Get the packing cubes to go with.

I bought this backpack after reading A LOT of luggage/travel backpack reviews. I wanted a carry-on backpack that maximizes utility and the incredible details of this pack make it a winner. Not even sure where to start but what I can definitely recommend is watching the Peak Design YouTube videos on optimizing your usage of the bag. My favorite details so far are the security features with the zippers, the external strapping tools, and the multi-point access to the main area. The side access was especially helpful when accessing interior items while in the airport. I will also add the pack's adjustability makes it very comfortable to wear.

Traveling to very remote areas of the world on public transport, I'm always looking out for the best luggage. At the moment I'm in Italy and so far very pleased with my 45Lthe "two" compartment approach is very useful in organization. As always, I've overpacked so the backpack is heavy but so far this does not appear to present a problem. All in all, a very competent addition to robust luggage.

I have been using this bag for about a month now and can confidently say it is the best bag I have ever used. I purchased it with a Camera Cube and a couple packing sacks and it is a dream to use. I don't have to worry about over-filling it because it expands in multiple ways! I can un-snap the top to open up room at the top and unzip the expander to create room across the entire bag. It can do it all! From a short weekend trip to a more extended adventure, you can fit everything you need in this bag. The strap design is incredible and extremely well thought out and engineered. The straps tuck away behind magnetic padding when they are not needed. The bag is compatible with other products such as the camera cube and with the C clips that come with the camera cube, they fit together like a dream with immediate side panel access to my camera and lenses. The overall quality of materials and construction is the best I have ever used.

I haven't traveled with it yet but soon. I have it packed for the trip. Lots of room even with the medium camera cube. Since I am taking it as a personal item I have to resist the urge to use the full 45L. I do love that way it reduces in size so I can do that. So far I love it.

What an amazing product. I am able to fit so much in this bag with a very small footprint. Lots of pockets and compartments to keep my smaller items organized as well. I love this backpack!

I own two of these bags. One I use for my Camera equipment when I travel and the other for my Amateur radio equipment when I go portable. Fits all my stuff. Thinking about the 30L bag when I don't need to carry as much.

I bought this bag so I could reduce the size of my checked bag. I was able to pack everything in a carry on size bag and this back pack. I love all of the compartments and that it is not too bulky despite its size. It is well made and I expect to use this for a long time!

I was feeling discouraged with my old weekend bad -- It had two large compartments, and I found it difficult to pack / remember where I left things. I use packaging cubes, and they just didn't fit my old back. This bag is so much better. The ability to add items to one large compartment made me able to stack my packing cubes. Additionally, I could take my cord case from my other backup and just slide it in -- it fit perfectly. Lastly, my toiletry bags fit great in the front portion. This was just what I needed. The ability to hide straps was an add on bonus, as I often have to put this on top of a proper suitcase. That was great too. And, in the end, when I was done with the bag, everything could be removed easily and it could be stored. Overall, I'm super happy with this purchase.

I've used my old North Face internal frame backpack for all my travels since 1978. Now in my late 60's it doesn't fit or feel like it used to. I have read reviews on the 45L and decided to take the plunge and buy myself the Peak Design 45L for our upcoming European trip. I purchased it in sage which I love! There are so many cool features. Lots of compartments to keep your personal items organized and separate. The straps are easily adjustable and fit my body perfectly. There are a number of handles on the back so you can easily pick it up from various angles without having to grab the straps. I am very impressed with the quality of this pack and its light weight. I expect this will be the last backpack I buy. Hopefully it will take me across the globe like my previous one did.

I traveled in Colorado for 2 weeks and never felt like I was really forgetting anything. Only downside is that fully loaded this bag is HEAVY. Be strategic about setting it down and picking it up if you need/ want to be kind to your joints. Once it's actually on your shoulders it's very comfortable and it fit in overhead bins with room to spare. Looking forward to more adventures.

Bought this bag a year ago, it's great for carry on and for general carry for big glass with gripped cameras. With the large PD camera cube I can fit a Nikon Z9 with the 800mm 6.3 pf attached which is longer than the listed max carry size of the cube. Note that the cube won't zip up with something this long but the bag will zip around it without issue or strain. The camera and lens are 18" long from front of lens cap (zemlin) to the edge of the camera eyecup, with the hood in reverse. I feel you could squeeze it up another 0.5" to 0.75" if your setup was longer but that's pushing it. Hope this helps for someone wondering the real maxed out internal length of this setup

This is my favorite piece of peak design gear and the one I hav had the longest. I do a lot of traveling where I want to maximize carry on space. The shoulder and hip straps could use more padding, would love to see that in a V2. I really hope they make a V2 of this one day because this bag is brilliant with two compartments and standardized packing stuff sacks. I can throw a trip to Boston or Florida together in a few minutes since everything has a bag and a spot.

Bought two of these backpack for our European trip last week. It serves its purpose as an airline carry on, walking up/down the stairs of a subway station and walking in cobblestone. It was just kinda heavy for me with my stuff in it but my husband didn't have any problem with his.

I bought this bag a couple of weeks ago and so far I'm not disappointed at all. The materials and overall build quality seems and feels durable. Even if it's a rather big backpack, it is quite comfortable. The only area of improvement would the sternum strap. A magnetic one would have been more user friendly.

Return to Office when one has moved to the country had created a whole new problem set for me. How to carry around luggage for a 2 night stay every week. At first I used my draggable wheelie bag - after a few weeks of clipped ankles and much frustration at navigating pedestrian curbs, and the noise of dragging it around, I gave up. Luckily someone recommended Peak Design and I won't look back. First and foremost, I am 170cm female, and the 45L is SUPER comfortable. The Peak people have clearly put the user first when designing this. It has all the zips and access to compartments you need. It has straps EVERYWHERE so whatever position it's in, it can be picked up. It also stands upright so no dramas when on the tube or train worrying whether if you let go, will it fall on someone. It's got heaps of compartments - perfect for gym gear. I love the small zip pouch on the outside - easy to access headphones, keys etc. It also looks great. If it came in leopard print I'd give it 6 stars ;-)

I recently picked up the Peak Design 45L Travel Backpack for a 12-day trip to Japan, along with the small and medium packing cubes. Initially, I had concerns about departing from traditional rolling luggage, but I swiftly discovered that the backpack format outshines rolling options in most scenarios, barring perhaps well-tiled airports. Even then, the convenience remains negligible. Maneuvering through Tokyo's bustling streets was a breeze, and the backpack's carry-on dimensions allowed it to fit snugly above most train seats. The backpack's organization is a standout feature, offering an abundance of pockets for all your essentials. The dual-access design, enabling both front and back entry, ensures quick and hassle-free access to your belongings. In terms of space, I effortlessly accommodated all my necessities for the 12 days, including a range of clothing from casual wear to a suit and shoes. Remarkably, there was even room for a sizeable martial arts uniform, which is quite bulky. To optimize space, the packing cubes are a must-have. They proved astonishingly capacious, and the ingenious compression zipper condensed everything perfectly within the bag's confines. The backpack's craftsmanship is top-notch. The zippers exude durability while maintaining a smooth glide, and the materials demonstrate robustness. Despite consistent use, the backpack's appearance retains its contemporary charm. In conclusion, my experience with the Peak Design 45L Travel Backpack was overwhelmingly positive. It surpassed my expectations with its backpack convenience, adept organization, spaciousness, and unwavering durability. The backpack's performance in real-world scenarios like Tokyo's busy streets and trains underscores its practicality. If you're looking to up your minimalist travel game with a new backpack type carryon look no further.
