I really love this pack. It packs really well, is built beautifully and works great. Only thing is I wish it was just slightly bigger. The 30 get too big and this one is great for what I have but not much more space.

I bought this a month ago and am happy that I did. I wanted it for everyday carry to/from work on the subway. I've also taken it on a weekend trip by plane. Pros: I like the side access so stuff on the bottom of the bag is reachable without unloading the entire bag. The internal dividers add organization, even though they get in the way sometimes. The keychain is a very convenient place to put my keys because the strap system works well. The side handles make it comfortable to hold the bag in tight spaces on transit. Nits: The bag's still a little stiff opening the top pocket, but maybe it'll improve over time. It feels like a very narrow gap and it's hard to see what I'm grabbin in there. The side pockets are hard to access unless you use two hands, which makes it inconvenient to use them for masks or AirPods when on transit. Combined with #1, it means there are essentially zero quick access pockets on this bag that are convenient with one hand. I don't think I'll be able to use the laptop holder for a 16 in MacBook Pro. It feels very tight with a 15 inch in there as is. The bag doesn't feel like 30L because to achieve that I think I'd need to remove the dividers and use the topmost latch. I'm not sure I really want 30L for an everyday carry, so this is fine, just something to note. Overall, the bag is almost perfect. Though it requires some habit changing due to the innovative design and is a bit more inconvenient for quick access than I had hoped, I still enjoy having it.

I have really loved using this bag! The top and side access is super convenient, and the build quality is great. I just wish there was an easy-access small pocket somewhere for storing things like wallet & keys, it is a bit of a pain to have to open up one of the main pockets to get to small things. But apart from that, I'm very happy!

I love the bag, it has great features, it is strong, good looking, well planned however the only downside of it for me is the stability of the dividers. As a user of Sony A7Rxx the lenses I use are small and the dividers force me to stack lenses together to have some stability and actually secure them in place. Other than this, so far, in love with the bag.

I love using this backpack for photography, work, school, traveling, etc. The pockets are intelligent and thoughtful. My only vice is that the straps do not provide a ton of comfort for a hauling heavy items for long durations.

Great backpack for photography and travel - 30L Unit Pros: - Charcoal looks expensive yet modest - Large size - External carry straps are great...I bought 2 extra straps - Typical top notch build quality - Seems very rugged - Side pockets for water bottle, tripod, umbrella are great - Pivoting shoulder straps are surprisingly handy Cons: - Bit on the heavy side - Needs more pockets in the upper section (mag latch area) - Small items in the upper section may fall down past dividers - Functionality of the side pockets are questionable - Cut out notch for water drainage from side pockets looks questionable for longevity - Laptop compartment is a tight fit if you are dropping in both a 15" laptop and iPad Pro - Tablet sleeve is not full depth which could be good, but mostly bad if you want to carry a large laptop and a 13" laptop for example.

Purchased this pack after a very long search for a new camera bag. I wanted something that would be versatile enough to use for the camera gear and be able to hold some additional clothes or a jacket. I was very happy with the overall design of the pack. Once it arrive I was even more impressed with all the features, quality materials, and craftsmanship. It is obvious that PD put a lot of thought into creating this pack. The placement of pockets, every closure is magnetic or has a zipper. The design of the dividers is genius and the way the top flap latches is an intuitive design. My only complaint with the pack is the thickness of the shoulder pads. After loading the pack with a Sony camera body, four lenses, a tripod, water bottle, go pro, accessories, and a jacket it gets rather heavy. For a backpack that is geared toward those that do photography I would have hoped for some thicker shoulder pads. They're good enough for shorter days, but after walking around for multiple hours they start to cut into the shoulders. I'm hoping the waist belt can help relieve some of this. Overall I am very happy with the pack and would buy it again.

I bought my Everyday Backpack in late November 2021 but I have not used it yet, lack of "office" equipment pockets is why. Part of why I don't us the Peak Design bag is because of the resurgence of Covid. I produce a radio show and camera bags make great audio equipment carriers and the PD backpack was going to be perfect. I always thought I'd work out the office accommodations later. So here's my question, do you think there would be a market for an office cube? Something like an oversized portfolio with a built in iPad sleeve, pockets for pens and pencils, notebooks, power bank etc.

First: This backpack is awesome. The multiple carry grips on top and the sides and the magnetic secured main carry straps make the everyday use an ease while commuting. The flex fold divers and side access zippers tame the chaos in this big backpack. There are just minor details I don't like on this overall fantastic product: the sternum strap is annoying sometimes and the color (I have the blue one) of the outer shell is weak against subway walls (but the worn style isn't too bad I guess ;-). Very good backpack for everyday use, commuting an transporting my camera gear on weekends and events.

I own 4 of these bags of different versions and designs for my wife and I. We use them mostly for camera gear when traveling. Customization makes it great when you bring different camera and lens combinations so they suit us well. There are many other lighter less expensive options for people with few gear for always shooting the same kit. A few things can be improved: the side pocket configuration of the V1 bags was way better. Also the top strap does not allow to completely open the side pockets which is not preferred. I do like the better straps of the V2 version and the extra magnets. Still love these bags.

Pros: Good design and material. Cons: The empty bag itself is quite heavy(2kg!). Not comfortable to carry.

I really love this 2nd version of Everyday Backpack. It's a great iteration from the first one. However, for the 3rd version, I would strongly suggest that you create an Everyday Backpack with a smaller and more slim version. This is my only problem I encounter everytime i used this for work. It is too bulky whenever I go to work especially inside the elevator. By the way, I am not a photographer so i use this to carry my MacBook Air, some personal items, and work stuff. So, to solve this problem, I bought the Everyday Sling V2 and Field Pouch V2. Because as I bring my Everyday Backpack to work, and need to go out to eat, I can just bring a smaller bag or pouch to bring my personal items like wallet and smartphones. In addition, I'd like to suggest a seamless integration of the Backpack with a small bag or pouch to carry smaller items. It's like a great flow of bringing a backpack then pulling out a smaller pouch when only small items are needed. I hope you understand my concept and please feel free to contact me if my description is interesting to you and might need a clearer picture of what I had in mind.

This bag is well thought out for you daily use. Sturdy and compact it holds my D7500, Nikon 80-400, Nikon 70-200, and Nikon 18-140 with room for more.

This is a good backpack, it is everything the YouTube reviews say its going to be, the only issue no one spoke of that i am having is that it tends to hold dust and get white marks that i have to rub off on the weatherproofed exterior, this is just an issue I'm having and It is not evidence of a defective product, PEAK DESIGN is one of the best names in the photography business, and they got that way for a reason! This is a FANTASTIC bag.

My previous main camera bag was the V1 messenger, and over the years I have become dependent on rapidly swing a bag around my body to access gear. But messengers aren't comfortable on longer shoots, especially when lots of walking is involved. Really, they aren't even that comfortable for a day spent in airports. So I needed a backpack, but it's amazing how few allow side access. And of those that do, this PD bag is basically the only one with *full* side access. I'm not limited to pulling out just a camera body with whichever lens I'd attached in advance, I can also get to other lenses for swapping (and with practice, can use the open bag as a staging area for the swap). My current divider setup allows my camera and 4 lenses to live on the main access side of the bag, with space for 2 more lenses on the other side (and a headlamp, and chargers, and cables, and...). The "top" of the bag still has some space for non-photo stuff like a packable jacket, paper and pens, or snacks. The sleekness of the overall design does reduce the usable space a little, but the 20L size is enough for everything I'd normally need. My understanding is that the straps are much improved from V1, but they could still be a little better, and the dangling ends are a weird oversight from a brand that takes pains to solve those sorts of dumb little problems. Otherwise, there are so many great touches here; it's even possible to affix pouches and dividers from other PD bags, to expand options.

This bag is everything I wanted it to be, its got great zippers, I like the locking loops as the pulls, plenty of space. Careful overloading it! It can get heavy! Shoulder straps are comfortable. If you buy black, keep in mind it could get dusty or scuffed if you use it daily, but it looks brand new if you simply wipe it down with a damp (not overly wet) cleaning cloth.

Excellent bag with incredible ease of access. The shoilder straps are less comfortable than I expected, especially when weighed down. I would opt out of the luggage cart strap, in order to have more comfortable should straps and back pad. I love the sleek and clean design as well as all the attachment points for gear. A lot of thought was put into the design. The next version could also use a crumb tight top divider, so that food stored in the top of the bag doesn't get into the lower sections with camera gear. It would also be nice if the bag came with the waist belt included, especially for the price.

I bought the 20L to compare to the 15L zip. As a 5'5" lady, I much prefer the 15L size. So this will be going back, though I'd love it if it were 15L! The straps on this are much thicker than the Zip, though still not super comfy I wish the Zip had better straps. Just because the weight may not be a lot compared to a 20-30L bag, doesn't mean it feels light on a small frame obviously! These bags are themselves heavy, wish they could be lighter.

Had the initial crowd-funding everyday backpack 30L Charcoal. The first batch material was great except for the back mesh material that worn and torn after some use. Got PD to look into that matter and PD sent me a replacement version 2 but the shoulder strap torn barely attached to the rest of the bag, and the internal storage pockets reduced. The external bag designs can bet better and more unique (future proofing)

30L just didn't work for me. Good quality but no internal pouches for accessories. Side pouches interfere with internal space. Some innovative features but not enough basic functionality.

I genuinely wanted to love this backpack. It boasts remarkable organizational features, and accessing my camera gear is a breeze. However, the thin shoulder strap became a significant drawback for me. Once the bag is loaded, the lack of padding on the strap makes it highly uncomfortable. I regrettably had to switch to another brand because of this. For reference, I typically carry: - A 14" MacBook Pro - A Nikon Z7ii with a Nikkor z 50mm f 1.8 lens - A Nikkor z 35mm f 1.8 lens - A Nikkor z 24-120mm f 4 lens - An Anker power bank - A battery charger I would gladly reconsider this backpack if a more padded shoulder strap is introduced in its next iteration.

I've been using this bag for a couple months now - primarily as a work and commuting bag. Overall, I'd like to give it a 3.5. Let's start with the good points: 1) lots of thoughtful little pockets and hidden storage, 2) easy to open top compartment, 3) great use of magnets for straps and pockets, 4) usable vertically and horizontally Now for what has left me a bit disappointed: 1) It doesn't look great - the material is probably durable but it looks a bit cheap. The black bag is boring - it would have been nice to have the brown accents. The magnetic clip that opens the top pocket is already starting to lose its black coating and I only use it about twice a week for office commuting 2) When traveling with it docked horizontally on a suitcase, the top compartment is almost unusable because stuff can fall out. Trying to access it with he side opening means you need to rummage to find what you want 3) Smaller things in the top pocket can slip past the velcro organisers 4) It's very tight getting a thin laptop and ipad air in the back section - not quick access if you have both Overall, this is close to being great but I would not recommend it for work and commuting.

After realizing that the rough mesh back panel on my current Timbuk2 backpack was causing several of my clothes to pill, I was on the hunt for a new everyday carry pack. My requirements were pretty typical with one exception that I often have to carry two laptops. This Peak Design backpack really caught my eye with its spaceship-y look and unique origami divider design. I was really excited and hopeful for it to be the one so I gave it, in tandem with a Peak Design Tech Pouch, a try for a few weeks. Although it delivered in the aesthetics department and even had a few pleasant surprises (like the swiveling strap connectors and that it stands up on its own), I ended up finding too many flaws to justify the heavy price tag. - It's too boxy. Every time I put it on, it felt like I was strapping a cardboard box to my back. - It has no external pockets. Everything you put in this pack goes inside the main compartment, and within that, optionally in one of the internal pockets. This means every time you want to access something, you have to open the entire main compartment and dig around. This might have been fine if the internal pockets were great but they're fairly small and prone to having their contents spill out into the main compartment. The tech pouch somewhat solved this by co-locating most of my smaller items in one place (which I put at the top of the main compartment using an origami divider below it) but this then necessitated opening the pack from the side zippers for everything else. I think at the end of the day my inability to get used to the side-zipper-based access pattern was the primary reason for it not working out. - The origami dividers were not useful at best and got in my way at worst. I found myself occasionally wanting to pack something that wouldn't fit without shifting around the dividers (which is a non-trivial task). My read on this was that the pack was designed very well for certain user segments (like photographers) but not for me. - The laptop pocket was too tight. It's a small annoyance but one that kept irking me with each time I got and put away my laptop. Maybe this is unique to the larger 16" MacBook size but I couldn't pull it out with rubbing my fingers against the (quite rough!) zipper. Adding in my second laptop only magnified this a step further. I'll close the review with this. If your use case or preferences for a pack align with the unique single-compartment, divider-oriented, side-zipper-access design Peak Design went with here, this is a fantastic pack. If not, as was the case for me, I'd recommend continuing your search.
