I bought this for an upcoming trip to Kenya to carry all my camera equipment, lens and tripod. I watched several of the packing videos and struggled to get everything I wanted into my backpack, but eventually I figured it out and now have everything snug as a bug in a backpack. :) I'm glad I bought this. Now we'll see how it travels.

This is an incredibly versatile bag that meets my needs on most occasions. I upgraded form the 20L to the 30L to accommodate some of the larger lenses in my full frame systems and it's perfect. I have 2 minor grips: More padding on the straps and strap stays for the backpack straps. Other than that...perfect!

Love the material, multiple compartments, but didn't love how the camera was handled.

I wanted something around 20l so went for the small EDB but this is its MAXIMUM volume when fully expanded (which looks a bit daft IMHO)! Hunted around on the PD website and found that the larger bag is actually 22l (I think) when not expanded which is much better (for me) Apart from that confusion, really happy my new bag - lots of cool features and functionality which I'm still in the process of working out how to use

Bought this backpack for Japan trip and it has good capacity but after an hour the straps can be uncomfortable. It has good form and a durable outer shell.

I got this bag several years ago, and use it ... every day of course. Mostly - it's holding out quite well, except for some abrasion where the bottom rubs against my lower back. The general layout is pretty convenient, especially for use as just a camera bag. My problem is when I want to carry a laptop, an A4 notebook and a camera. Putting the notebook in the main compartment doesn't enable me to put separators in there for the camera and lenses. If I don't carry the laptop, the folder can go into the laptop compartment. But not both. A bit of a bummer, which could probably be fixed in an updated version. How about it, PD guys?

V2 backpack feels great and is more ergonomic thank V1, use of magnets increase usability and durability. The only thing that i consider a downgrade are the side pockets which are smaller and no longer totally separated from the main compartment.

I received my v2 20L as a warranty replacement for my V1. PD customer service was excellent and the replacement process was painless The V2 bag is still nice but it feels like more of a sidegrade when comparing features. I appreciated the nicer straps and slightly larger laptop and quick access pocket, but there are a couple things I much preferred on the V1: - No more leather side handles and zipper pulls, or metal rivet accents. - top of bag is a lot firmer and rounded, creating a much different look hard to see in pictures. I much prefer the softer top of the v1. - the side zipper pockets used to open flat, now you have to prop them open with your hand or they will self close Overall it is still an excellent bag, especially when used for camera gear. PD stands by their warranty with excellent service.

I like that this backpack fits perfectly under the seat in front of me on airplanes. I also like that the cameras don't seem to move the tiniest bit, they feel very protected. I'm not 100% convinced by the shoulder straps though, they keep sliding off to the side and the chest strap is a bit fiddly imo, I'd have preferred a regular plastic clip. Bummer that you have to buy the waste strap separately, although I don't think you need it for a 20l backpack, maybe for 30

I purchased this bag about a month or so ago after seeing it on YouTube and it hasn't disappointed. It's certainly a lot more different from the backpacks I've used before but it works well as an everyday carry bag and excellently as a camera bag. Peak Design support was quick to reply to emails (within a few days or even sooner) and helped answer the simplest of questions I had to even getting a warranty replacement done for some minor issues with the initial unit. Overall a great product from a great team. Can't wait to see what further improvements this bag will get in the future.

I bought the 30L version of the bag. A bit larger than I expected, even if the specs on the Peak Design website were accurate. Even though I am a photographer, I chose this bag for the everyday life: work, kids, outdoor. The 2 laptops compartment is very good. It will only fit 2 very slim laptop, or one (and only one) thicker. The bag can easily face the office routine, meaning that you can bring your laptop, your food, your water bottle, documents, wallet, jacket without giving the impression that you are starting a road trip. And during weekends or holidays this bag is pretty much perfect. You can have every thing you need. I personally own a D750 with a Sigma 24-25mm on it, and they fit just perfect in this bag. I can even carry an extra 70-200mm if needed. There is many others qualities when it comes to this bag, you can go on Youtube if you want to get reviews. The only things I could blame this bag for are the straps: they are too thin!!! If you have a 30L bag, then you want to carry a lot of gear. But it can become painful if you are hiking or walking around. This is the reason I cannot give this bag a 5 stars review.

I've used both Version 1 and this V2 of the PD Everyday backpacks extensively for years, and while they're some of the best packs available on the market, I still think there's a lot that could be improved for V3. I like that PD cleaned up the outside of these bags, with less stitching, etc. however I do wish that they'd go back to the grommets they had on the ends of the grabs handles on V1. The bartacks here don't look as cool, and are oddly stitched lengthwise. While the mag latch works effectively, its metal latch kind of 'hooks out' from under the flap and scratches other items you lean the bag up against or drag it across. This could be improved. I mostly use these to carry photo gear plus day items, whether hiking or traveling. The inside is well-designed, although again, I think the tan color of the V1 looks nicer and more premium than the kind of cheap looking light gray on the V2. I also preferred the more premium look and feel of the felt tablet sleeve on the V1, vs. the thinner, cheaper one on V2. I'm indifferent to the changes to the interior side pockets, and find both have worked pretty well. On the top of the body, they kind of sew the opening a bit smaller than the body, likely so items don't fall out. But at the same time this doesn't give as much space to get items in and out. Also, the stitching around the top of the opening looks pretty remedial. Would be cooler if they laminated that, or got rid of the exposed thread they're all together. Generally I find that PD uses a nice durable thread, but kind of low stitch counts and some inconsistent stitching not equal to the premium prices. Another, newer pack company in Bozeman does a lot higher quality job with their stitching and construction. The shoulder straps are very comfortable, and have never had an issue with them. I wouldn't mind if they were a little wider, to help better support heavy camera loads, but not a major issue. The fabric is durable and seems to last without showing much wear. I will note though that it's pretty heavy, and makes the whole pack weigh more than most when empty. One thing you may not immediately notice is that the pack stands up well on its own, due to the flat bottom, which is really nice. It has squarer shoulders on the top than V1, which is probably more space efficient, but I don't think looks as cool. So overall, this V2 was some steps forward and back. I'm hopeful PD can clean up some of the design and aesthetics for a V3 that's finally perfect.

I can tell that a lot of time & effort has been put into the design of the Everyday backpack. The features and usability feel like they're designed by people who are photographers. Nothing feels cheap. One gripe is that the black picks up dust and gets dirty easily. Also could potentially have more shoulder padding in the strap?

I love this bag like many of the peak design products. I would go r this bag 4.8 out of 5 and the only reason it's not 5 out of 5 is because of the internal side pockets. I wish they didn't change the internal side pocket and left it like on the v1 with full side zipper. The top magnet pouch is virtually unusable because the magnet gets detached all the time and if you put anything thicker than a piece of paper it falls out. Hopefully they will update this design in the future.

The peak design bag 20L is an amazing bag for travel. i can fit a modest size kit in the lower two compartments and leave the top compartment for a little extra like a jacket, snacks or basic necessities while out for the day exploring . I do also like the V1's slimmer profile since the V2 is a little thicker and bulgy due to the larger laptop compartment.

I'll start with this: this bag is gorgeous and innovative. I have the 20L version, and it was my first high-end bag. Having come from using a more basic backpack that really didn't suit my needs (my use case is as a tech bag), I was instantly enamored with this one. I used one origami divider simply as a shelf, stuffed my tech bag in the lower third, and used the upper section for ANC headphones and iPad. Laptop compartment was very tight width-wise for my older, thinner 2019 16" MacBook Pro but, ultimately, it worked. Keys and miscellany were tucked into the quick access pocket up top and, in the side panel slip pockets, I kept pens, business cards, a pocket comb, and a couple other small, slim items. Things began to get a little dicey, though, when I needed to carry my personal laptop and my work laptop (work laptop is old, but had proprietary software I need; personal laptop has much better productivity software as downloads on the work laptop are restricted); I'd have to downsize my personal to my 13" MacBook Air and then force the two into the laptop compartment (one in the tablet sleeve, the other in the dedicated laptop sleeve). It never damaged either computer but I often thought it would at some point. This was also a heavy load; more on that below when I discuss the cons. Over time I began to notice other flaws. Perhaps "flaws" isn't the best word; it's probably more subjective, but here's what ultimately prompted me to semi-retire the bag. Cons: - Straps: too thin width- and depth-wise across the trapezius muscles. As mentioned, I had a heavier load and began to experience significant pain in my neck when wearing the bag for any length of time beyond just from the car to the office and back. I could no longer stomach the thought of traveling with this bag. - Back panel: doesn't conform well and is far too rigid with even a single laptop loaded; this creates pressure points on the back. Strap pain and rigid back panel made this altogether uncomfortable to wear. - Side panel pockets: just not very functional. Really can't fit much in there, and the zippered closure of the lower pockets that have small item slip pockets inside (memory cards, etc) didn't provide much berth for getting things in and out. I gave up, stashed a flat comb in one side and didn't even use the other one. - Quick access pocket: volume eats into the capacity of the main compartment. Because the side panel pockets aren't as functional as I'd like them to be, I ended up stuffing the top quick access pocket. This meant most of my small item volume was now sitting inside, and limiting the capacity of, the main compartment at the top, and limited what I could fit in that section. That space already isn't all that big, so to have it restricted further was quite disappointing. Pros: - It's gorgeous and fits the professional setting very well. - Very high quality build; mine still looks basically brand new. - Water bottle pockets are actually pretty nice. No issues with my 26oz Yeti. - Probably works really well for what it was built for: photography. - Is great if you have a light, single laptop and headphones carry, and the back panel rigidity isn't a concern for you. It took up until the last six months for me to finally accept that this bag wasn't cutting it for me. As I mentioned, I was new to high-end bags and was so enamored with it initially that I just wasn't yet aware of the issues. I still use it when I need to look very clean and professional, (it's still the most beautiful bag I own) but it is no longer my daily carry and I only use it when I know I can pack light. This bag was purpose-built for photographers though, so it could very well excel in that realm. I just can't speak to that experience myself. PD very clearly has a lot of talent on the design team and there are other products of theirs that I absolutely love; the Everyday Backpack just didn't quite fit the bill after the honeymoon period.

I've had this backpack for a little over a year at this point. It has been on several trips, both international and domestic. Good points: * Keeping the outer material clean looking is not as fussy as I had worried it would be. It is a tough material and doesn't seem to accumulate too much dirt, though I also haven't traveled through particularly dirty/dusty areas. The water resistance is enough to not worry about things in light to medium rain. Haven't tried it in heavy rain without a cover. * The flexfold dividers are great for carrying a variety of strangely-sized objects. I'm not a photographer so the things I transport in this backpack are less camera-focused and more computer/tech stuff (keyboards, cables, peripherals, etc.) or everyday things like loaves of bread, water bottles, umbrellas, etc. * The top and side handles are always satisfyingly balanced and _nice_ to touch. * MagLatch works great and I use it way more than I expected. * When I need to fit _just_ a bit more stuff, the backpack almost magically is able to offer me more space. You can really push this thing to the limit when needed. * Luggage pass-through is nice, especially returning to Tokyo from a trip with luggage where I need to travel on crowded trains. * The outside side pockets are deep, sturdy, and hold onto things tightly. * The use of magnets all over the backpack give a premium and satisfying feel * I use the key tether thing in the side pocket to hang onto my keys when I travel, and I've never had to worry about losing my apartment keys from when I leave to when I return. * Nice zippers, no issues with them so far. So-so points: * Maybe I'm not aligning the flexfold dividers properly, but sometimes it feels hard to align the top flap properly, which makes MagLatch less effective, and gets in the way of zippers closing * The pouches in the laptop compartment are a bit hard to access, the opening is not very wide * Flex-fold dividers can be a bit tough to align in the center, and are overall slightly clumsy feeling to rearrange. Not that I could design a better system, but there's always room for improvement. Bad points * I wouldn't say this is a _comfortable_ backpack for extended periods of time. The straps and the surface touching your back could use more and softer padding. This is true even for a backpack that isn't loaded down with stuff. That's really the main reason I wouldn't give this a full 5 stars, but's it's close!

This bag gives me so much confidence whenever I wear it for travel, photography, and everyday. My favorite part of the bag is that it is a jack-of-all trades bag. I can use it for any situation and it looks the part. At the same time, it does also fall into the master-of-none trope. You must use the dividers to have it function correctly and the side pockets are not as functional as the V1. Other than that, the bag will do whatever you throw at it.

I picked this up almost a year ago and I still really like the bag. For short trips or quick travel to and from work it is great. As a teacher I do wish it had one or two more small compartments that were easily accessible from the top pocket. Otherwise I love it.

I bought this to secure my camera gear for an overseas trip. I was able to securely fit everything in. The bag is on the heavy side. Cons: The right strap kept on getting curled in. I had to constantly untangle it. Which was a hassle when you're trying to catch a train or bus or tram. I also had the pack attached to my Rimowa carryon luggage, but one of the straps kept on getting unhinged intermittently from the magnet. Not sure why. Will be exchanging it for the 45L.

I bought this for a work trip and it was very helpful on the plane with the side access and pockets. It also looks very slick and the rigidity makes it comfortable to carry and protects contents. Downside is that it is a bit expensive and heavy. The laptop and tablet access is a good feature and it would be nice if it was even bigger to allow for more notebook sized items. I had to remove the sectional dividers from the main cavity so that I could fit in my magazines and books and notebooks.
