I am not a trail runner, but I do love to walk.. I walk a lot at lunch on the sidewalks and always get shin splints. I've tried lots of other really expensive shoes/insolesand they would be okay for a couple months and start again. This is my 3rd pair and the first (which I've had for almost a year) are still comfortable.

I am sold in this show. Supportive, comfortable, love the wide toe box, my feet grip the ground when I walk- feels absolutely secure even on wet floor. I'm super impressed.

I am normally a high volume roadrunner, anxious to get into trail running and tried these out tonight! Love!!!! I normally run in the Escalante Racers with Torins and Escalantes thrown in the mix for recovery days.

Every pair of Altra, I think are gonna be the best, and then I get a new pair and my mind is blown! I love everything about these shoes. As someone who is disabled, I MUST have comfortable shoes, and these SMFP's I not disappointed! I wear them to the gym to meet with my trainer and for every day use, such as grocery shopping! Walking is very hard for me, so I'll take all the help I can get! Worth every penny!

This is my second pair. I walk about 7 miles a week. I am 75, and I've had arthritis since I was 14. My arthritis has spread to my lower back and hips. These shoes reduce the pain 75%, and I wear them even around the house. I plan to walk through them. Then I will get another pair.

I have had two back surgeries and have both RA and osteoarthritis that affect my feet. I feel like I can do anything when I wear these shoes. I can go all day and never think about my feet or back. They are a real game changer for me.

I alternate Altra running shoes with the numerous pairs of casual shoes I always wear. As needed I'll place additional orders & hope they'll have the same fit as the last one I purchased from Altra recently. Everything was perfect & the shoe strings were a great length & are easily tied. Looking forward to finding more shoes that fit like this pair I'm currently wearing.

I am so happy to find these shoes!!! I have struggled for years with foot pain. These shoes instantly felt wonderful!!! I normally wear a size 8 but got a size 9 after reading other reviews. 8.5 would have probably been better. My feet have never felt so good. I love these shoes and will never buy another shoe with a skinny toe box. These are made for real feet

I trail run multiple times per week in CO so on any given run I can go through ice, mud, wet rocks, dry rocks and a 30 degree temperature change. These are perfect. I usually run 6-13 miles at a time and these shoes have enough cushion to prevent bruising while being minimal enough that my feet can feel the terrain. I love how light these are too. Can the Altra trail shoe division make a road shoe please? I don't want to wear out the tread on my Lone Peaks when I have to run on pavement and I don't want to compromise my hard-earned foot strength by training in narrow overly cushioned trainers! Bring back the Torin 4 or Torin 4.5. Thanks

I bought these because the toe box is wide enough for my now hard to fit feet. These shoes are so comfortable they feel like slippers, I love them!

I have searched high and low for shoes that don't trigger the recurring Mortons Neuromas that I have in both feet, including other Altra styles. These are it!! I initially bought a wide but found those far too big, so I bought the standard width instead. I hiked 8 miles immediately after purchase without one bit of pain. Amazing. I plan to buy a couple more pairs. Note: I have NOT tried running in these shoes, only brisk walking/hiking.

This is my second pair of Lone Peaks and I LOVE THEM!! I have wide feet and these fit perfectly! Using them for trail running/walking and my feet feel like I'm walking on clouds!!

I ordered a half size up and it's perfect! I have back issues and it was an noticeable difference. Bought the high tops and hiking boot too! First shoe I don't feel I have to break in. Will buy 4lifep

I've had these shoes for a few months now and like all the Altras I've owned so far, they're great. Went out for an 18 mile hike this weekend, my feet weren't sore for a second. The trail was wet and muddy and my feet stayed nice and dry. When they did get wet (once it started to downpour/hail) my feet didn't get soaked and dried fairly quickly due to the mesh upper. These are now my go to hiking shoe

It's already my third pair of Lone Peak and I love them. But only them. I tried two other Altras, but they just don't fit and feel so well. I don't do trail running, just light hiking and I love to wear them everywhere - but because of their profile, they wear down quickly on concrete. Could you make a lone peak with durable soles for every day? That really would be great. Thanks. The red is really more orange, but I still like the color.
