this shoe was just a little to snug on my toe, but I loved the look and style

Very comfortable. It’s taking time to get used to. For me the arch is a little too much. I prefer less, but I am trying them a little at a time in hopes that it lessens.

When I first took the Rivera out of the box, I was shocked out lightweight it was. After a few runs in the shoe, I can't believe how much it felt like I was wearing a slipper (in a good way)--lightweight and soft cushioning. I like the extra room for my toes and the heel cup is nice and secure (which is not the case for other running shoe brands I've tried on). Running in them has a very 'feel-the-ground' sensation with good cushion but not too much. (I'm not a fan of super plush shoes.) Overall, I really like the Rivera and foresee myself using them for easy runs and tempo workouts.

Love my other Altas but while these were cute & comfortable sole, the upper was entirely mesh fabric & just walking around house it felt like my big toes were gonna poke thru at any moment. The mesh was not supportive & I imagine in time the lack of stability would be a big problem. Sadly they were returned. Would try this style again if there was an improved toe guard & side stability instead of all very lightweight fabric.

I thought the toe box in these shoes would be wide enough for my toes, but they were not. Pinched my toes

I have had these shoes since August 2022 (4 months). I am a casual wearer, not a runner. They are falling apart and the color is worn off of front part of the sole. The tread is barely worn. Very disappointed in the quality.

These shoes are comfortable for jogging but the tread either wore completely down in some places or began separating from the shoe. I take a conditioning class so most of the time I'm wearing them inside. We do some outside stuff on a regular basis (running quarter mile warmups a few times a week). I also swap them regularly with another pair of Altras so I'm not even wearing them every day. For the cost I wish the quality was as better.

The back material of this new model must be thicker because my previous ones were perfect and these were far too small!

I bought this shoe after a recommendation from someone at my running shoe store and I just fell in love with them. For the first time ever, I found a shoe that doesn't hurt any part of my feet when I run, no matter how long I run in them!! I have run for 8 years and this is the best pair I ever bought. However after only 215 miles and 4 months, my plantar fasciitis flared up, which means the shoes are becoming too soft. I just bought another pair and the pain is gone which confirms the shoe didn't hold for a long time. I contacted their support team which told me their warranty for shoes is 300 to 500 miles but they won't cover it because it is just wear and tear. I am incredibly disappointed but I ended buying another pair as I am nearing the end of my half marathon training and can't risk an injury. So to sum it up - shoe comfort is excellent, durability is incredibly low, support is not leaving up to the expectation.

Please go back to the original footshape! These would be an absolutely perfect shoe if it had the original footshape!! The way it is now, it is too narrow in the toe box and my pinky toe does not like it at all! Why is Altra moving away from the original footbed??? The original footbed is what people love about Altras.

I tried several Altra's- Provision, Torin, Riveria 2. I'm very familar w this Co. I have the Lone Peak and discontinued Duo. I was looking to replace Duo. Want lots of cushion, arch support and box room for walking on hard surfaces. I thought Provision was the only one that satisfied. I did have to go one full size up (usually just 1/2). Riveria was the tightest. PS to replace Lone Peak, which wore out too fast in my opinion, i choose Topo Pursuit, 0 drop. Vibram sole. very happy w it.

I was hoping the Rivera 2 model would correct the cushion issue that the first model has. I am referring to the cushiony feeling that is deflated within two months, and completely gone within three months of wear in Rivera 1. Anyway, It didn't. The Rivera 2 feels like a Rivera 1 after you've worn them 3 months. I guess I will have to go with a more plush model. The only problem with that is that Rivera is the only one for a slimmer foot.

I like the change to a flat inner sole compared to the Rivera1 bone "grooves". I do not like the added cushion on the back of the ankle-it puts pressure on my achilles. i also do not like that the ankle line is flat and high, it rubs on the outside ankle bone, ligaments, and tendons (please see pic).

I have several pairs of Altra Escalante all size 6.5. These were too small in length, width was fine as I have a narrow foot.

I went up a size based on the other reviews, and while the fit length was correct, the arch was off (hitting my foot in a weird place) because of the size difference. The upper knittish fabric also was a little too soft and mallable for my liking for road and light trail running that I do, so I will be returning these.

This shoe I received was defected. Right shoe has shorter lace and shorter tongue. I feel that this shoe is made sloppy and cheap. There is not enough cushion at bottom. I liked the large toe box which I needed and very disappointed . Thank you for fast delivery.

Wore the Torin until you came out with the 5. It just wasn't comfortable. Tried the Rivera and am very disappointed. The tops and almost transparent and stain easily. They always look a mess and the bottom treads wore out in a few months and all I use them for is walking. The concept is flawless for planter fasciitis and ball of foot pain but these sneakers are made with cheap materials and no longer eoeth the price. I' m changing brands.

I tried this shoe because I'm so pleased with my first pair of Altra shoes. This pair feels more cheaply made, and hurts my feet and ankles. The toe box is not as wide as my other pair of Altras. I need a wider toe box to accommodate my Taylor's bunion, but the rest of my foot is narrow.

My toes were hitting the end of the shoe. Unfortunately this shoe doesn't come any larger than a 12 so I had to return.

This shoe is sold as foot shaped yet the longest part of the toe box is the middle. If your longest toe is your big toe, this shape forever your foot and toes off center and is very uncomfortable. The lace holes between the inner and outer layer of fabric don't line up and are cut too narrow so it's very hard to re-lace the shoes- especially if you want to use the highest lace hole by the ankle (however you may run out of laces to tir them if you lace through that hole). The laces are also flat and made of slick material so they come untied easily. However the cushion level is nice and they otherwise seem durable.

This was my first experience with Altras, and it will likely be my last. The shoes barely lasted 2 months before completely being worn out. I took the Altra test to determine the best shoes for my running style. These were the recommended model. If it stepped on a piece of gravel, it felt as if I was wearing thing flip flops. Not the quality I'm used to in the price range for these types of running shoes.

Always fit in women’s size 12 Altra any style until now. Riviera full half size small and depth is shallow enough tgat my one little crooked toe pops the fabric up. Love the shoe but hate the sizing.

Whatever you changed from the first version, switch it back. This shoe seems way smaller. The first version felt cushy and this one feels hard. Very disappointing as I just switched to your brand. Looks like I need to find a different shoe....AGAIN!

This is so unfortunate in an Altra shoe, but I feel like this shoe is just so much more narrow than what you want in an Altra. Everything else about it feels good, but it is considerably more narrow. I don't understand why you would do that?
