got these for bf, he only wears Lone Peaks but has been disappointed with the narrower fit of some of them. this pair he's thrilled with the fit, more room in toebox. his only complaint so far is the color choice or lack thereof.

I have run in, or tried to run in, every Altra Lone Peak model since the original. In the past I was sadly disappointed as some models acquired a lower volume in the forefoot or the shoe got narrower. My feet have been described by others in the Biomechanics profession as "Hobbit feet". I have a wide forefoot at around 105mm and a relatively narrow heel. The newest WIDE version Lone Peak fits me extremely well, allowing much needed room for my forefoot to "splay". The reason for the 4 star is that I've only had this shoe for a month and have not assessed it's durability.

This is my first pair of Altra shoes. I like to extra wide toe box. The grippy sole is outstanding. I felt like a mountain goat on step downhills and loose rock.

Been using/loving Altra running shoes for years now and am ready for my next pair. I've been looking/liking at the Lone Peak 6 partially because they come in EE wide widths for my WIDE feet but can only find the LP6 black/gray color in widths. Why is that? Bummed....

My typical street shoe size is a size 13, brand Under Armour. I tried the 12 and 12.5 and found that the 12.5 was the correct length but a little sloppy in the heel cup. To mitigate this, I replaced the laces with thicker round athletic laces and fed the laces through the additional lace holes farthest back. Overall, aside from those minor issues, I would say that this version is a significant improvement over the last few. It is closer to D width than all previous versions and doesn't feel like clown shoes. In addition, the outsole is supple but firm enough to bounce off rocks. In addition, the upper is more flexible, allowing better conformity to the foot.

The toe box fits as Altras do, having ample toe splay room and room in front of your toes. The heels on the Lone Peak 6 are narrower than previous versions I have tried, and this is a plus for me being a skinnier guy. My heels feel hugged, locked and free of any lift...and my toes have room to play and splay. Big plus on the addition of the rubber toe cap. Time will tell now the neutral pronation will treat my knees as an over pronator and how well they hold up.

I like the fit and look of the shoe. However, I do feel the rocks...more cushion or better plate? As a hiker it excels. As a running shoe stay away from rocky trails.

Running, ultralight Hiking. I have repaired many of these Shoes on the Pct. With glue and tape. Younger folks don't bring repair kits. The sole on the shoe disconnects at the tip of the shoes, and the added stitching adds no more than a week or two before the problem emerges. The shoes are comfortable and serve their purposebut please solve this problem.

BRING BACK THE KING MT 2.0 THAT'S BEST SHOES AND DURABLE. THE GRIP IS EXCELLENT ON THAT ALTRA KING MT 2.0 SHOES . MOUNT BLANC is a joke , too narrow and it gives you overpronation and gets you injured!!

Top material could be better, perhaps with ripstop. After 5 months walking on sidewalks, large holes developed in the top material. Warranty replacement shoes also developed holes after 5 months.

Toe box and over all shape is promising. I want to love these but the arch is cut to shallow as well as the overall body. Promising but as someone with a full foot strike to keep stability on trails this isn't it. Cute for grocery store. Yes, it's that level of meh

Haven't used the product. No fault of Altra. I just couldn't get it to fit. Tried a 12.5 then a 13. Neither fit well.

I wanted to like these sooo much due to the larger toe box. Felt great walking around the house. As soon as I hit a downhill however my toes jammed forward. Tightened the laces even more but to no avail. My search of a hiking shoe with a large toe box continues!

These shoes are the best for foot issue, like neuropathy after back surgery. I've worn them for about four years. The only problem I have with them is that they collapse and loose their cushion within 6 months. The inserts are paper thin and collapse into the shape of your toes. It would be nice if new inserts were available.

I bought these from Fleet Feet 2 days before heading out to run Rim to Rim Grand Canyon. At mile 30 I noticed the edges of the toe-box threads were busted and debris was getting in. My very next run was Mt Shasta and by the end of that, now 50 miles in, most of the seem stitching had come undone. By the time I raced in Hawaii, they were falling apart and I had to change my shoes at mile 17. Normally the sides tear away from the sole before the stitching falls apart, but this model doesn't hold up like the LP4.

I use this shoes for hiking. For 1st hike around 15miles, I like toe box, fitting and grip. But during 2nd hike around 18miles, toe cap peeled off. I have never seen this level of peeled off for my Olympus4 and other brand shoes.(Salomon and Inov8)

Sharp tongue cuts into your ankles. Have to roll the tongue back under the laces.

&1/2 is just too big, the width felt good though. Too bad these aren't available in a 7 for those of us who have that wide of feet in a size 7. Would recommend if you aren't a size 7

If you measure the low point of the heel cup on the Lone Peak 6 its app 2 inches to the sole. The Lone Peak 5's measure 2.25 inches. Thus the feel like you are not supported as well in the ankle on the Lone Peak 6's is in my opinion because there is less material to support the ankle and lock the heel in. I purchased the Lone Peak 6 to replace my 5's but now will look for Lone Peak 5's which are hard to find...

These run a little big. Altra has a unique toe box, lots of room in in the forefoot and toe area. In fact I could’ve gone with a medium instead of wide. I’m flat footed, 0 drop shoes aren’t safe, or. Comfortable for flat footed people. The heel toe drop should be -1 because the heal sinks way down. The also do not breath. Again 0 drops can cause injury like pttd and Achilles issues in flat footed people. I Got insoles and with the heel sinking in, the insoles don’t help.

Just received my shoes, first of all the laces are pink, they appear orange/red on Zappos website, which seems to be a trend on Zappos. The colors are always off on every shoe I’ve ordered. Another issue is they have absolutely zero arch support, I had always heard Altra had excellent arch support, these Lone Peak 6’s have none. When I put a new insole in, the shape of the shoe made the insole sit too far back so the arch was too close to my heal.

Two big likes: First the Zero drop. It takes some getting used to but the extra contact with the trail is helpful; Second, the foot shape allows you to strengthen your forefoot. However, there is one big downside to the Lone Peak and that's the shape of the heel which seems to lose its shape after a couple of hundred miles. This contribute to some unsteadiness when moving up the trail.

I'm a fan of the shoe mostly, yet one of the biggest flaws is not having a separate front attachment loop for gaiters. It is 1) less than ideal even frustrating to fasten the Altra branded gaiter especially during a race and 2) it affects the tightness of the lacing during runs. Hopefully they will bring back that simple yet very handy front plastic loop in the next iteration.
