We couldn't be happier with these hiking boots. Not only does our daughter find them comfortable, but they also keep her feet warm.

Second pair for my grandson. He outgrew the old pair. He likes them and they held up well.

I walked into the Boston Seaport LLBean on a whim. I saw this boot (in red and orange) but didn't know that it was for children. I asked if they had it in my size -- I usually wear US ladies 6.5. I tried on the 5, which was comfy but snug. The clerk then brought me a six, which fit well with just the kind of extra room in the toe that you want in a hiking boot. When i realized they were for children, the clerk assured me that the only differences were size and price (which is much lower). I would add color, too. I love the red! I took them on a shakedown walk -- a couple of miles through the city -- and they felt perfect. Not a pinch. So far, I'm very happy with them.

Bought these for our 7 and 10 year olds for a hiking trip. They hiked all weekend in them through mud, rain, and over tough terrain and both rate them 10/10. Feet stayed dry (until wading/playing in a stream after hiking) and no blisters. Highly recommend.

These seems like well made, sturdy hiking books for my son. However, they definitely run small! We’re sending our first pair back and ordering a size up. Yay for Zappos awesome return policy!!!

These boots needed little break-in, which is nice. They do run a little narrow in the toebox--don't expect to wear thick hiking sox. I am an adult female who wears youth size 5. (I wear kids' shoes because they tend to run wider in the toebox and narrower at the heel. I have a hard time finding shoes that fit in adult sizes.) These are light and were comfortable from the start--once I changed to thinner sox. I am a light hiker, around two hours on a grassy/rocky trail, usually, three or four times a week.
I am concerned that they were not designed for my weight--I am not overweight for an adult, but probably am if I were a child. So, they may have to be replaced, often, but I would definitely buy these again.

This is the second pair of hikers I have purchased. I have a small shoe size and the boys size 4 fits perfectly. Unfortunately on my last pair the stitching let go and I can no longer wear them in the winter. The tread, etc, is still good, but needed a pair I could wear in the winter. These boots are perfect for me. I work as a cashier on a concrete floor. The tread gives excellent support and keeps my feet from aching or hurting. I have weak ankles from ice skating as a kid and get extra support there as well. The overall value, styling and support from these boots is the best. When these wear out, I will buy another pair. I absolutely love LL Bean products. You just can't beat them.

Shoe fit snugged and the comfort was good, good ankle support and such a cute vibrant color. Unfortunately, took them on their first hike and one of the metal shoe lace hook fell off… I was so sad and had to return them. I would order one size up tho! (picture below was before the hike to Mt. Baden-Powell)

Read the reviews before purchasing and recommend sizing up. Went hiking in these boots and no complaints. The boots are holding up really well. First time purchasing LLBean brand and satisfied with boots.

This is an excellent hiking boot with great treads. Good padding and support and no blisters or marks on our first long hike. However, getting the correct size is tricky. They are a full size smaller, so size up! The toe box is narrow. We have narrow heels and a wider toe area. When sizing up they were much more comfortable on the toes and still fit well. Here is what we ordered after returning the first order...... street shoe size 4 = boot size 5, street shoe size 5 = boot size 6, street shoe size 3.5 = boot size 5(originally hiked in the size 4 and they were very uncomfortable in the toe area, wearable but not for long hikes). Overall we love these boots and they were water resistant on a rainy day. Now that we figured out the sizing, I would highly recommend them.

I was so frustrated when I took my 6-year old out to buy hiking boots to prepare for spring and summer and all the great places we'd like to trek. I struck out with every brick and mortar store in Dallas, TX. Some had stopped stocking closed-toe shoes for kids for the season (WHAT!?!?). Some just hadn't stocked his size or no hiking shoes at all.
Enter L.L. Bean, who I would have turned to sooner were it not for the difficulty with sizing shoes. But they were great. I ordered too small at first, but their return/exchange was so efficient that we were out on the trail 7 days after the wrong size was ordered.
He had his feet measured at one store, which showed them as a 1, but he ended up in a 3.
He loves his new boots and wanted to tell me every time we went up or down a slope how great and grippy they were!

I took my grandson camping last week and he wore these, at first he was reluctant, but he soon warmed up because he experienced how much better he could maneuver terrain. They feel solid and well built.

My 8 year old hiked Mt Washington in the rain in these boots! His feet were dry even after stomping through streams on the trail! Very pleased and they will be taking him to more 4,000 footers this fall!!

I bought these for my daughter for our trip to a national park. She wore them all day long for several days with no complaints! There didn't seem to be a break-in period, they were fine from the start. She did trails, grass, and rocky coastline with no trouble. I will advise that you SIZE UP! Even with regular (not overly thick) socks, her usual size we could barely get her foot into, and then it was too short in the toe. I exchanged for a full size up and they were perfect. Overall an excellent boot!

Boot is super cute on my daughter. Bought the tan and navy version. Comfortable on my daughters foot without needing break-in time.
