My son wore this jacket only a handful of times and I noticed a small tear in the elbow. I attempted to return it to the store twice and was told they would not accept it because it was likely torn on a fence? We had to pay for repair tape in the store to fix the rip. VERY disappointed in the quality of the fabric and customer service we received at the Legacy Place Dedham store.

I wish I could give this jacket a great review because it's warm and good looking. The quality is great EXCEPT the zipper constantly gets stuck on the interior fleece. My son has struggled with this and often needs an adult to get him out of the coat. I regularly trim the fleece with scissors to keep it away from zipper but it continues to happen. Unfortunately, I waited too long to make a return, but I consider this a defect. I hope LL Bean makes a modification to the design.
This was the first time I purchased an LL Bean kids coat and it will be the last. Ralph Lauren kids jackets are far superior. I have ones that have been handed down between my boys and my friend's kids and still look new after 6+ seasons.
Highly disappointed in LL Bean.

We wanted to love this jacket, but the main zipper gets CONSTANTLY stuck on the inner lining/draft flap of the jacket. It is so bad, that our 7 year old had to have adults at school lift the jacket over his head and several people could not get the zipper unstuck. Major bummer because the jacket was otherwise warm and functional.

The coat ripped after one winter of light use. Llbean refused to replace the coat unless I first purchased a new one and sent this one in. I had numerous Llbean products over the years for my kids and the quality has diminished greatly.

I am so disappointed in this product. It seems as though LLbean's quality has really gone done. After the first wash the down totally came out. I followed the washing and drying instructions carefully as I always do with my LLbean products. I called and spoke to a customer service rep who basically said they couldn't do anything, which was also very disheartening. Thank goodness we had a mild winter here. I ended buying my son another jacket from a different store. Don't waste your money on this jacket; it's not worth to it. I will never buy another jacket from here ever again.

This coat looks great and keeps my son warm but every time he takes it off, his clothes are covered in feathers. I thought it was a one off defective coat so I returned it and got a new one but the new one does the same thing. It's so frustrating. I've washed and dried it according to the instructions but nothing seems to stop the feathers from coming out of the inside of the jacket. I'm so disappointed.

Beautiful color, but jacket was very wide. I returned for a smaller size and it was still too wide, I had to return.

My son loves the fuzzy lining and fit of this jacket, however the outer layer is so paper thin it develops holes. Within a month of normal wear, it has a hole in the arm where the feathers are coming out and 2 holes starting in the armpits. Very poor quality for LLBean and not what was expected for a $100 jacket. They are replacing it, but I highly doubt the replacement will be any better since the quality is so poor. I should have looked more into the other reviews before ordering, since this seems to be a common issue with this jacket.

I am a life long LL Bean coat lover but this one is terrible. I purchased as a gift Christmas 2017 and by spring of 2018 we had a rip in the outer fabric I was able to sew. In the fall of 2018 more rips, the fabric seems to just separate in vertical rips out of the blue. I should have returned it when I could. We pull it out for the winter of 2019 and the zipper comes completely off the jacket. $100 down the drain.

This coat lasted less than 24 hours before the sleeve had a rip. I plan to return it and will not accept a replacement. The outer shell is tissue paper thin and only slightly more durable.

Our family loves LL Bean and their jackets/fleeces have been a staple in our family for generations. Unfortunately this one is not the usual quality. I wish I read the reviews more closely before purchasing. The jacket is very nice looking and warm however after only a handful of wears (maybe 5), my son had a small tear in the outer shell. It was only then did I realize the material was extremely thin and not great quality. Since it is filled with down and other "stuffing" it can't be worn without losing all the filling that makes it a warm jacket.
I called customer service (very nice people!) and ultimately they said I could try to send it in for return but did not sound promising since it was not a product defect. It's freezing so I don't want my son to go without a jacket and don't want to dish out another $75+ for a 2nd jacket while I wait to see if they'd even return it by mail. So I'll buy patch tape and see if I can get through the season.
Strongly against this jacket and suggest going with a different one... not lightweight and hopefully of more durable material like the original LL Bean.

So disappointed and frustrated with LL Bean and this jacket. Do not buy, it is very thin material and we found a hole in ours within the 1st couple days of wearing it. LL Bean did not stand behind their product. I wish would have read the other reviews, because many of them talk about the poor quality material that will not hold up. We planned on using this for a couple years but there is no way this jacket makes it to next year. :(

My 6 year old son received this jacket as a Christmas present, and in less than a month of wear, it had two holes in the outer shell. I thought nothing of returning it ( as there clearly is a defect in the quality of the fabric, and I was not satisfied with the product), I contacted his aunt who had given him the jacket to get the receipt, and I brought it back to our local store. I was shocked when the sales person informed me they would not be able to take the jacket back because the holes were caused by misuse...unless misuse is being a child wearing your jacket, I would have to say I strongly disagree. Maybe if it was just one hole, or if both had occurred on the same day, then maybe it could have been from an accident, but that was not the case. Two separate holes on two separate occasions within a month. Over the years I have been very happy with all the winter outerwear products and backpacks I have purchased for my 3 children and am just so disappointed in the quality of this jacket. I hope that it is just this specific jacket and not an overall decline in the quality of their products. The backup jacket my son has been wearing ( since he doesnt want to wear the jacket with the holes as it has feathers coming out of it) , is an llbean jacket from his older brother that he had worn for 2 winters and it has been in storage for 6 years, and not one hole in it in the month. I was not a bit concerned when llbean changed their return policy from a lifetime guarantee, because I had never had to return anything. Maybe there was more to that change than just trying to prevent fraudulent returns. Very disappointed!!

After less than a month of wearing, the material on the hood ripped. I intentionally purchased one size up so it would last more than one winter. This has never happened to one of our kid's jackets. Very disappointing.

My son wore this maybe 10 times and the zipper on the side pocket broke! How disappointing and now I have to waste my time sending this back. What happened to the LL Bean quality?

I bought the same jacket last year and it was great. It's still in good shape but my son had outgrown it. So I bought the next size up a month ago. 2 weeks after wearing it the jacket has 2 holes on the exterior shell. One on the hood and one on the chest area. I had to mend them before they got bigger and stuffing came out. The exterior shell quality is very poor and thin - just inappropriate for jackets. What a waste of money. Now I have to search for another jacket for my son. Clearly it's not going to last the season.

My son wore this for two hours today and there is a tear in a sleeve. We buy this jacket every year but this year the material is so flimsy. I am so disappointed in the quality! I won't be buying this jacket again.

The jacket arrived on 10/12. The jacket is adorable, but that's where my good review ends. On Saturday 10/13 my daughter wore the jacket for the first time to my son's football game. Halfway through the game, I noticed a thread hanging and a spot that was torn on the back of a brand new jacket! It wasn't there when we received it and she hadn't done anything to tear the jacket. Unless you can tear a jacket walking to the concession stand because that's all he had done. I read another review that said the material was cheap and had ripped. I should have listened to the other reviewer. LL Bean is willing to replace the jacket and I accepted the offer, but am very fearful that it will happen again. I also ordered these jackets for my niece and nephew and I'm afraid they will also have issues. The replacement isn't arriving until Thursday, (today is Saturday) I asked for overnight shipping because she doesn't have another coat that fits and it just got cold on Friday (40's) and they told me that Thursday was the best they could do and that includes expedited shipping. (I don't believe it for a second! If I ordered brand new and picked to pay overnight, it would happen so why can't they accommodate their own lack of quality?!) So, now I'm stuck spending more to purchase another jacket because I can't send my 6 year old to school when it's going to be 38 degrees in the morning with a high of 48 to school without a jacket. Very disappointed LL Bean! I should send you the receipt to reimburse me for the second jacket I have to buy. This is more than likely my last purchase from LL Bean. Appreciate the replacement, however it's not fair I have to spend more (oops - and my time on a Sunday afternoon) to purchase another jacket for the interim while I wait for a replacement.
