Perfect for my 3 year old to start preschool! It's a little big for what she needs, but I'm hoping this book bag will take her into 2-3rd grade. It's cute and she loves it!

Bought these bags for my little ones' first day of school including for a kindergartener's first day of school ever. Mom Fail that I ordered too late to make the first day even with expedited shipping -- spoke with Customer Service and imagine my surprise and delight when they pulled through to bring the biggest smile to my kids' faces for their first day. This speaks volumes about the company and has my customer loyalty.

Very sturdy, pretty backpack for a young elementary student.

I bought this backpack for my grandson who will be in the first grade. I was worried that it might be a little big for him, but when he tried it on it was just right. He loved the pattern (blue camo) and it looks as sturdy as the ones I got for my daughter years ago. Also purchased the matching lunchbox and it looks great as well.

My daughter has had five L.L. Bean backpacks in the past and all have held up well, but when I bought her a backpack two years ago for sleep away camp and it survived that week plus the two weeks this year and several washings in the washing machine and the only thing coming off is the reflective tape on the front. Also the backpack is incredibly waterproof ( it's been caught in the poring rain several times.) and has been completely dry inside.

My son had the same backpack for the entirety of Elementary school. Every summer I throw it in the washing machine and it comes out looking as new as the day we bought it. I'm only getting him a new one for middle school because he wants a "plain one" because sharks are too little-kid for him now. And he needs deeper water bottle pockets for the huge bottles he drinks now. I ordered him the L.l.Bean Deluxe backpack and I completely expect it to go to college with him.

I purchased this pack for my daughter in preschool, the size is smaller and perfect for littles. She is now entering second grade and finally decided she wants a new design. This pack held up to everything she threw at it, very highly reccommend!!

Love llbean bags they last and so for that I will continue to come back. I got one when I was in high school that I still have and so I have been buying them now for my kids and we have saved so much on backpacks because these are worth every $$
