There's a reason I bought the exact same backpack a second time. The pockets are the right size, the zippers are sturdy, it has side netting pockets for my water bottle and a hook to hold my keys tightly and reflective tape to help cars see me in the wee hours, and the folds over the zippers really do keep the rain out. Love this backpack, and when this one wears out a decade from now, I am going to come back for another one.

This backpack is wonderful. I bought it for my 6 y.o. hoping for more room for her lunch box and eventually snow gear. There's a lot of space and we're able adjust it enough to fit her well.

Come on. Who doesn't love these bags? I've had mine for decades, literally, and we've gotten them for all of my kids once they are big enough. Great materials, zippers, construction, etc. Love it.

The side pockets need to be deeper of large water bottles. They have a tendency to fall out.

This was a gift for our granddaughter to replace the LL Bean one that we had bought her 5 years earlier. The name embroidery was beautifully done and she loves the bigger size which has a spot for her water bottle.

As an educator, I see a variety of backpacks every day. The L L Bean backpack I recently purchased for my grandson compares very favorably with backpacks costing much more. It is sturdy, well designed and I'm sure, it will stand up to whatever my grandson puts it through.
