Perfect size for my Kindergartener. It fits the coordinating lunch bag as well as his change of clothes and 2 pocket folder. He loves the design and I was very happy with the quality/thickness of the bag.

My nephew loves his backpack. He is 4 and the backpack fits his lunch box and everything else he needs to bring to preschool in it.

This backpack works for any child from ages 1 through 4. It is the perfect size for my 4-year-old. Once a child is in kindergarten (ages 5 and up), it is too small to hold folders, etc. The quality of this product is amazing - you can tell it is worthy of the price. The straps are very stiff at first (which is annoying for a little child) but there is enough cushion to be durable. I would highly recommend this backpack. My only recommendation is to get the personalized names a bit bigger; but, that makes no dent in my satisfaction!

Great size for pre-k! Fits my 4 yr old very well and fits his folder and books!

The kid loves it! He wears his backpack every day, even after school. We also bought his older sister a junior original, original and most recently a deluxe backpack for middle and high school. Her junior backpack is 10 year old and still in great shape, her original backpack is about 7 years old and she still uses it for a travel pack. We're looking forward to continuing the LL Bean backpack tradition with little brother through the coming years.

It's a great purchase, my 5 year old son loves it. Just one thing to note is that there are no compartments/ sleeves inside the main zipper of the bag and one cannot organize the content. A kindergartner might be ok with that.

The backpack is adorable and perfect for our new kindergartner. It looks very sturdy and will hold up to years of dragging and dropping. The order-to-ship time was amazingabout 48 hours and with a monogram!!!

Original Backpack Jr is the perfect size for my 5 year old grandson. It's sturdy & should last long past his kindergarten year. He loves the "shark camo" pattern. I highly recommend this product.

I bought this for my five-year-old grandson who started kindergarten this year. He is a big fan of sharks and this did not disappoint him. It is the perfect size for K-3 and will last.

This is the perfect size for littles! My child is in second grade, and needs to be able to carry a water bottle and a regular sized folder. This does both. I was actually able to send 2 boxes of the "big" oatmeal cream pies in it, zipped up for class snacks! It holds plenty for its smaller size. Exactly what I was looking for and more durable that options elsewhere.
