I've been slowly breaking in my pair of shoes over the last two weeks. I find a lack of uniform support for all parts of my feet and ankles. I've added something that fits Andre my heel to increase balance. Before doing this I was ready to send them back. But I'll probably keep them and see how things go for now.

I bought these to replace a pair of 1260's that I bought a few years ago. The pair of 1260's that I bought were the last model ever produced. I normally wear stability shoes but I found that my feet feel more comfortable wearing a high cushioned show. So I finally decided to buy my first new balance shoes in years. The 1080v12 are my first New Balance shoe that has their proprietary Fresh Foam. Wow!!!! I feel like I'm walking on pure sponges. These feel fantastic. Everything from the fit to the feel and the looks are fantastic. As always New Balances service is fantastic too. At least from my experience. I purchased these online on a Wednesday and received my shoes the following Friday. All-in-all I highly recommend these shoes.

Bought a pair 3 years ago. Got chin ssaints. Same thing. The heal is dropped low, forcing all tension to the front.

The "fresh foam" is way firmer than on previous versions. Ended up returning them.

The 1080 Fresh Foam X shoes exceeded my expectations for comfort and foot support. They are the lightest in weight running shoes that I have owned. I highly recommend them!

Loving the hot bright colour and praying this years model will out shine the last years. Whilst they have been so comfortable sadly their life span has seemed to shorten. Praying this years model will last longer then 3 months!

I've had 1080s in the past and liked them, but something seems off with this shoe. I typically buy 2E foot, but the big toe on my right foot couldn't get comfortable. It kept hitting the side of the shoe. And with the lack of substance on the upper, it felt like it would poke out the side at some point. Also, both shoes felt more narrow than normal through the middle. I then ordered the 4E, and still had the same problem with my toe, though it solve the narrowness issue. The shoes also run long as many have indicated. I'll hope the Fresh Foam More V3 is an option when wide versions come back in stock.

Wish there was a model with a tad more cushioning, but right now this is the best I can find. Thank you.

Great shoe but they do seem to run a half size larger so it would be good to try them on first.

This is my first time running in New Balance, & I'll say I've found a new home. I've always ran in other competitors, because I didn't educate myself on the shoe itself. It feels great in the toe box, with a good amount of room. There's no heal slip, and it fits perfect. I would suggest running in your normal shoe size. No need to half size up since they fit perfect. The standard width seem to be decently wide, as I consider myself to have a 'semi-wide' foot. If you have really wide feet, maybe consider the wide width, but standard seems to fit pretty perfect. Its not too slim. 10/10 will buy again.

Very happy with this purchase! I've been wearing the 940's for a while and wanted to try something new. I'm very happy with these. The arch support with this shoe is very good. I'm glad I made the switch!

I ordered two of the 1080v 12's. I wear these shoes daily because my job requires a significant amount of walking and standing on hard surfaces.

I buy the fresh foam every time I need new shoes. These are the only ones I buy. They are very consistent the way they fit, and perform.

I have run in NB almost exclusively for the better part of 3 years now. I have run many half marathons in older versions of the 1080 and 880 series shoes and each pair seems to be getting worse. The 1080v9 is what turned me into a NB fan, but this pair has more than likely converted me to a competitor. The shoe runs large, I even went half a size down and it is still long and especially wide. No matter how tight I lace the shoes my feet always slide and rub in these shoes. They do not have the cushion past 1080s have had and still somehow seem too disconnected from the road and provide very little road feedback. They do not breathe well and make my foot noticeably warmer than my last pair of NB running shoes. Overall these shoes leave me disappointed at the price tag and the product.

Out of the box, these shoes were 10 out of 10 in terms of fit and comfort. However, after a few trails runs, the heel cup splits in half deeming the shoes almost useless for hiking or uphill training. I have now purchased 2 pairs of these shoes and watched both fall apart in less than 2 months or so.
The heel cup is a made of a thin/flexible material that would be a lot better if replaced by the elastic heel support found on other shoes like the Freeze cleat. Because the heel cups are split, I generally unlace these shoes and use them for coaching and walking around town. And honestly, the shoes look cool enough and the sole is comfortable enough for this purchase to retain some of its value.
Overall, I really like the potential of this shoe, but would love to see NB do something about the durability and possibly the tread (could be better for trail running). Might try a switch to Hoka this summer too.

I stand and walk on a concrete floor all day long and my feet would hurt so bad half way through my day. Not anymore. These shoes are worth every last penny. New Balance has a new customer for life.

Gait was unbalanced and destabilized. Knees hurt after one day wearing.
Soles were much too thick, and proportionately way out of balance. A crime for New Balance to be Out of Balance.
Forget about this model, go back to more traditional running shoes.
Shoes returned to company.

I recently started running and needed a shoe that has a ton of cushioning, came in 2E width as well as had a stretchy and breathable upper as I'm quite heavy. I only wore Nike for the better part of my adult life and never really tried anything else until now. The 1080v12 in 2E is BY FAR the best fitting and most comfortable shoe that I have ever worn. I can't wait for the More v4 to release so that I can purchase them next!
