Awesome shoes!!! I've been really looking forward to trying out the Pulsar Trail for a long time and have loved wearing them over the past few weeks now that I have them. The cushioning is very plush but has good spring and energy return when combined with the energy blade. I was thinking that I would only just be using these for regular or long trail runs, but have enjoyed while using them at faster paces too. I also wasn't expecting to use them much for technical trails because of the softness, but I did find that they were supportive and stable enough. The reinforced toe cap has already saved my toes from a couple of nasty rocks too. The fit of the upper I found supportive, and have had no hot spots or blisters from them even though I've done every run barefoot in them. The upper is super breathable too. I expect that I'll still use the Pulsar Trail for mostly medium length runs and long runs on the trails, but I feel like they are super versatile and would perform well for all types of runs and conditions.

I've been using Sense Ride 4 and 5, also got a pair of Ultra Glide. I like the trail feel of the Sense and was impressed somewhat with the stack and more cushion on the Ultra Glide. These fall right in between and the cockpit for my foot is one of the best I've had in running shoes for the last couple of years. I call them cushy! These are now my go to shoes for most of my runs which consist of a lot of 12+ mile runs on weekdays and a longer run or two (18+) on weekends. Last week these shoes seen 87 miles with nearly 20k of vert and I had no problem with them, in fact I couldn't wait to get back into them. I ran technical trails with scree, rocks, mud and roots along with snow here in the Pacific Northwest and they've done well in all but the snow (SpeedCross for the win in snow). I've had them for just over two weeks and now just under 200 miles. I think they'll go another 200-300 miles.

The good: Comfort, fit, weight, grip, style, absolutely everything you want for a a road to trail shoe. No complaints at all. I have several pairs of Salomon and these are my new favourites. The Bad: The Energy blade. I am not sure there is one! I have a pair of Hoka Carbon x and they feel like they are propelling you forward. These shoes are great but I feel no energy return or push at all. Its irrelevant, the shoe is great, Salomon have just tried to get on the 'Carbon plate' trend but failed. I'd still buy another pair

I've run two really long and hard uphill tempo's in the Pulsar Trail in preparation for the GTWS. I love the way you feel the shoe aiding you uphill when you lean into the forefoot and allow the spring to work for you. I also love the stack height of these shoes the cushion helps with the comfort while still being light enough to be fast. They could be even a bit lighter.

I have a small volume high arch foot and run mostly technical single track, and this shoe is a good compromise if you want ample cusion with moderate stack height and decent performance on longer technical runs. It is comfortable and supportive and checks all the boxes for me. I find the ultra glides nicer to my feet on long runs but this shoe performs better on the technical with more cusion than most of Salomons trail shoes. I can't run in the s lab pulsars because they have no rock protection, but this shoe has good toe and underfoot protection. They also slightly springy and relatively light weight.

While waiting for the new Sense Ride 5's to drop, I ran into the Pulsar Trail Pro and Pulsar Traill...decided to pick up both. After 30 miles on the Pulsar Trail, I couldn't be happier with their performance. Quite frankly, I'm happier with the Pulsar Trail than I am with the Puslar Trail Pro. The Pulsar Trail is SO close to the Sense Ride in so many ways...the lone exception is the upper feels softer and more pliable than the Sense Ride. I'm still trying to figure out if this is a bad thing, but I do know I run with more confidence in the Sense Ride's on our technical trails in the Pacific Northwest. Comparing the Pulsar Trail to its big brother, the Pulsar Trail Pro, the little brother was vastly better on downhill runs. I believe the difference to be the EndoFit in the Pulsar Trail...my toes were clamped down and below the tongue, whereas on the Pulsar Trail Pro, my toes were sliding into the toe box, and the laces were cutting into the tongue and the top of my foot. I ended up loosening up the lace, but then I lost the feel of the trail. I wish the outsole was a tad more aggressive like the Sense Ride's are, but they still performed well on yesterday's 14.50 miler in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness on a technical 20% decline. They also appeared to handle the mud well enough, but not mistaken with the Wildcross. The heel lock is far better than the S/LAB Ultra 3, Pulsar Trail Pro, and the Ultra Glide...very close to the Sense Ride. The ankle protection is also a big plus for me. my Ultra 3's and Pulsar Trail Pro's pale in comparison with the heel and ankle protection the Pulsar Trail provides. The "rock plate" felt better than the ProFeel used in the Sense Ride (and others)...I'm guessing this is due to the TPC Energy Blade? Either way, I was very impressed with its ability to dampen the sharp rocks and roots I encountered. The best part is how incredibly soft they were. I have a 50k on the PCT this summer and I've been debating what shoe to use; the Sense Ride 4, the Ultra Glide, the S/LAB Ultra 3, the Pulsar Trail Pro, or the Pulsar Trail? I'm seriously leaning towards the Pulsar Trail for its resemblance to the Sense Ride, but with the added cushion. My only wish would be a slightly more aggressive outsole more akin to the Sense Ride, but its hard to argue with how well the shoe performed. Pleasantly surprised with this shoe...nice job Salomon!

I bought this shoe because it just seemed to be balanced, with the opportunity for a plate. I didn't buy for the plate, but bought because of its stack and also its looks. Its definitely not a carbon shoe so dont expect that. I loved the S Lab Pulsar and Glide, and thought this would be a nice combo. It's great on a lot of different trails. It doesnt feel like a plated shoe, it just feels comfortable. I feel like it could be an Ultra Pro replacement? But its softer for sure. It's like a Sense Ride, but for me it fits better through the toe box and is a little more fun to run in. I don't know if it has a specific use, I just like it. I run on very runnable trails, not too rocky or technical, but I dont think it would have a problem with those.

The shoe feels great out of the box, and fun on the trails. It's not a carbon racer, but feels fun on the trail. It fits like a classic Salomon shoe and the grip is good. I thought the shoe felt soft but responsive. I run about 70 mpw, and I have a trail 50k PR of 3:30. I train mostly easy pace, but at times I like to do speedwork on the trails, and this definitely works for that. The S lab Pulsar is definitely more of a racing shoe, and this is more daily training.

The fit and convenience of use is outstanding. I often go from cycling to Running and I can do so with ease with a single drawstring feature. I am a heavy sweater and shoes drought incredibly fast. I am very happy with my purchase.

Really comfortable shoe with good grip over most terrains, except thick mud. Excellent all-rounder and ideal for road to trail runs. Only one big issue is the insoles which fit really poorly and move about in the shoe. After each run the insoles had slid back causing a ridge at the front which was uncomfortable and rubbed against the foot. Swapped them out with insoles from another shoe and they're fine.

I have had the shoes for around a month, and I like the weight and fit. I have purchased no less 8 pairs of Salomons over the past years, many lowcut trail hikers. These as runners are a little less weight, which is great for what I am using them for. I expect like the others I have bought in the past that they will hold up well to use.

I got these on a Black Friday sale and LOVE how comfortable they are for walking. However, I can't get the drawstring lacing system tight enough to provide the stability I desire in my trail running shoes.

This shoe has great ground-feel for a trail shoe with higher cushioning. Traction lugs are just deep enough to provide good grip without feeling knobby under foot. This is my first pair of Salomon shoes, and for me, the fit was bigger than expected compared to other brands. Next time I will drop a half size. The only negative that I've experienced is the insoles began to slip and work their way up the back of my heel during runs. I added a few drops of super glue, which has fixed the issue.

I have three pairs because of how comfortable these shoes are, they don't keep their shape unfortunately but they will be comfortable to wear. The particular green color is hard to match with regular clothes, but that's just a minor compare to comfortability.

A nice look was my first choice, and that wrapped up feeling you get from wearing it is unforgettable. Love that feeling so much! Can't wait to take it hiking.

I have just passed the 200 km mark with on these Pulsar Trail shoes (GoreTex version) and I am generally happy about the comfort, lockdown, waterproofness and stability of the shoe while trail running. There are no major issues with the upper, lacing system or midsole (which could be a touch more compliant), however the main issue of the outsole rubber. This is not good in the wet and tends to get quite slippery on rocks and even paving when running. The compound seems to be quite hard, but this is not the case as there is already excessive wear at the front of the shoe even before 200 km. Seems like a hard one to overcome in terms of design, but some parts of the outsole need to be softer while others (toe and heel) need to be harder rather than making the whole sole from the same type of rubber. Also, the finish (unless in tended) of the outsole is rather shoddy and has a lot of overlapping colour sections rather than neat lines where the colours of the outsole change.

Haven't put a lot of miles in yet but they seem comfortable and good lock down. Look nice. Quick laces work well. I still don't understand why they don't make the lace garage easier to get into. It's always below the laces. They are a little wider than most Salomon models, which is good. My Sense Rides were too narrow in the midfoot and heel.

Bought these for my spartan races. Have tried many different shoes. Hit the trails a few times with these. I have an issue with blisters on my left heel with trail running shoes. So far with this one I have not experienced any blistering. These are the most comfortable shoe I used.

I don't have more than 30 miles on these yet, but overall a lot to like. I am a fan of 6-8mm drop shoes, so this checks that box. I am also a fan of wide-toe boxes and narrow heels. This checks these boxes. I have a c-width foot and there is plenty of room in this shoe. Pulsar Trail has more room than the Ultragilde, which for my foot, is a better fit. The Pulsar works but there is excess folds in the upper toe area when sinched up properly. I might try a thicker inner sole to see if that helps. It will probably fit people with a solid D widthe better than my foot. The cushioning is good, but Salomon's "max cushioning" is still not on par with other max-cushioning shoes. I prefer a bit more cushioning while maintaining the trail feel. Overall, I like the shoe and expect it will deliver many happy miles, but it won't be a shoe I will use for runs of 15+ miles. The wet season has just started here in the PNW and so far I like the traction, but haven't tried it on overly sloppy trails yet. My hunch is it will be better then the Ultraglide in the slop, but that is a TBD.

These are my 5th or so pair of Pulsar Trail shoes. They are my favorite shoes for technical trails and peakbagging (with trail approach) I have had. I have done many climbs in GNP with a pair of Pulsars. I have a Morton's neuroma on my right foot and need shoes on the wider side. I would not call these wide but the padding breaks in quickly. I like the white with black sole quite a bit and the old dark blue, even buying a pair for casual fridays at work. The one drawback on my last pair is that the tread wore out quickly (less than 200 miles) with hard use. I have a pair of Speedgoat 5s that have last longer. I don't know if Salomon changed the soles over the last year or not but that was disappointing. If my new pair wear out that quickly I will switch to something else.

I was surprised by how much I liked this shoe. Though taller than more usual preference I adapted quickly. Note, for my foot, sizing up a half size resulted in a shoe that required some effort to secure. I should have stuck with my regular size of 10.5. Just purchased a pair for my son. Highly recommended.

the Pulsar are FUN that's the biggest part of these shoes, i had lot of fun playing in the mountains with them, hesitant at first, thought the grip wouldn't be that good since they are smaller than other shoes, but ohh boy they grip well on rock when i'm going fast downhill super playful. they are fast too the energy blade really do make you feel fast, when i have my strides mid run i do feel fast and effortless. the only downside is the fabric felt a bit more fragile than i am use to. the pocket is actually interestingly placed you could almost tighten the top and stuff it in the pocket but i would just tighten them on the tongue of the upper shoe and stuff the laces in the pocket afterwards. overall i'm now ordering my second version because i really want to have them in my roster for some races or part of a race.
