Lightweight but warm, lots of pockets, the hood provides extra warmth. I also use it under a long raincoat when it's windy and rainy.

This 850 down jacket is great! It's light, real warm and long enough to cover my back side. I really like this jacket!

Jacket is perfect for taking dogs on a brisk walk in mild winter weather. It is also great as a layer in cold weather.

I absolutely love this jacket and have worn it every day since I purchased it. It's so lightweight yet incredibly warm. The purple color is especially attractive. As the weather gets colder this jacket will make a perfect base layer under another topper. This really was the perfect find!

Most comfortable, warm, attractive winter jacket I own. I'm petite (4"10, 100 lbs) but accidentally ordered the regular rather than a petite XXS. Was shocked that this turned out a perfect fit for me. So please that I've ordered two more in different colors. Though happy, I'm confused about the sizing here, since LL Bean's Petite XXS has been the right size for me in the past.

I bought this coat from my local LL Bean store and I'm so glad I did. The pictures don't do the coat justice. The color and fabric are so nice and warm. I think it's the perfect coat to wear from about 40-60 degrees outside.

Great jacket. I have a similar, down sweater from 4-5 years ago which I loved, I wanted a new one with a hood and a looser fit (and a light color, for walking after dark). I love this one too, but two noticeable differences from the older one. This one has a left breast inner pocket only (and it is not a large stow pocket like in the old jacket, it is only just about cell phone size), and no outer pocket. This one is cut larger, I originally ordered a medium, but it was too big, this one in small is clearly larger than the older one, but actually just the size I wanted. I just thought I'd point out the differences, I still love it, (but would have like the two pockets instead of just one, but not a game changer!)

Love the warmth and lightweight sweater jacket. Hood comes in handy for sporadic rain storms. Perfect for hiking, walking dogs, and errands. Bought a gift card for a friend so she could order one too!

Purchased the jacket because it wasn't as heavy as my standard down jacket; it also has a hood. It kept me warm when temp was in the 50s and dry when it was raining. Love the purple color!

pricey but I like the lightweight feature as well as design. I like the ties at the bottom. Perfect for those moderately cold days. I'm 80 years old and don't like heavy coats so this fits the bill.

I wear this constantly. I am 5'2" and weigh 115 lbs. And this jacket is just the right weight and provides the warmth I need to be comfortable. I have just purchased a second one. I recently washed my first Down Sweater and it came out like new. At first it clumped up, but I added a golf ball to the dryer, and it came out fluflly after 20 minutes. I Love this 850 Down Sweater.

This coat is the perfect fit. I'm busty, narrow shouldered, and short-waisted. It is a very comfortable fit and not too long. The light moss green is beautiful. It is perfect for traveling and is just the right weight and warmth.

Bought this for travel during early fall when temperatures are unpredictable. This worked perfectly. Easily packed down to fit in my daypack when not needed. I'm 5' 5" and 115 lbs. I bought extra small and the fit is great.

I love L.L. Bean's down coats. This one is lightweight and it fits great. Warm without the bulk.

The jacket is cozy and comfortable for all but our coldest days in Denver. I have a pale green jacket which shows dirt. Fortunately it washes easily and dries in a short time in the dryer. The down does not clump and need separating to dry completely like older down jackets.

I really like the coat! Very lightweight and folds compact to fit just about anywhere! The fit is great and I'm looking forward to wearing it this winter!

This is the perfect lightweight "down sweater." It keeps me comfortable down into the 40s, but if I am still wearing it when the temperature rises into the 60 I am still comfortable. The fit is true to size, and the style is pretty cool.
