I love this jacket! It is lightweight but warm, and windproof. Was great on a 30 windy day with moderate activity. Was not warm enough on a 20 windy day with no activity. Would need a heavier coat for that. Perfect for running errands. This is the jacket I wear most of the time!!

I love this light weight, insulating jacket. It can be worn on the shoulder seasons over light shirt, or with sweater or hoodie layered under it in the colder northeast winter months. The hood is great and stays put. The purple color is beautiful. I'm 5'4" , about 125 lbs. And the size small is perfect with room to layer.

I bought the down jacket with a hood because I wanted something a little less huge and enveloping them the down jacket I've had from LL Bean for 25 years or more. This jacket is definitely attractive and warm. I like the idea that it is somewhat waterproof so that the down will not get soaked. I ordered a petite extra large because I didn't want the jacket to look enormous on me. That was not the best move because the regular would've kept me warmer. But it's still a great jacket. Instead of Donating the old Bean jacket as I had originally planned, I decided to keep it too. So now I can choose the new stylish and warm jacket or my ancient , but super warm and toasty jacket both options being excellent LLB down jackets with hoods.

This jacket is a perfect combination of attractive, warm, light and very packable! I particularly like the inside zippered pocket.

This is the best coat. It is so light and warm at the same time. It folds up into a small pocket that is built into the coat. The size is perfect gives you room for some layers under. The sleeves are roomy and not tight at the wrist.

This is a beautiful jacket that is super light weight. In fact, when I received it in the mail, it felt like nothing was in the package, it was that light! I usually wear a medium in coats and jackets, and so I ordered a medium, but a small would fit me better, so I returned it. I am 5'4", 122 lbs. The purple color is beautiful. If you are looking for an unbelievably lightweight but warm jacket, this one from LLBean is a quality, well made jacket that will last for years. Well worth the price.

Perfect transitional jacket for weather in the 30s and 40s. Love the slightly longer length in the back. Wish the pockets were lined with slightly heavier fabric but so far they are holding up. Appreciate having a good also.

I bought this jacket because I'm going on a trip to Fairbanks Alaska. I will have a follow up review for it with pics. I never had a puffy jacket before and upon receipt this was surprisingly thin for where I'm going. Now that it's colder where I live, in 20-30F I was able to wear this jacket unzipped with just a sweatshirt and still be comfortably warm. No midlayer. In 40F I just wore a tshirt with the jacket unzipped and still feel comfy. I live by the water and it protected me on the windy days with the hood on. It held up in the rain as a water repellent product just be mindful. So far I feel confident for the purpose of my purchase. These were the questions I had but no one had the answers so I hope my review helps. The fit had room for me to add my layers for when it's 0 or less degrees. The fit was flattering considering I'm pleasantly plump (2x and 5'6") so all of you will know that you will look totally fab in it. I even stuffed my jacket into its own pocket, like a sleeping bag, and it will make a great pillow on the plane. Just be careful as you zip and unzip the stuffed pocket. It can get caught so be patient packing it and unpacking it in its pocket. I'm happy with this jacket so far! To be continued

This is my favorite winter jacket. I have owned at least 4 of these jackets over the past several years. I love the color choices and the fact that the jacket is super lightweight but very warm. It is great skiing or going to the store. It is great for flying because it rolls up small and takes up very little space in my carry on.

Love this 850 down jacket. Lightweight and warm. Hood is great as it has a slight elasticity to it and there is also a slight elasticity at sleeve bottom.

Perfect fit. I can wear a sweater underneath it and it's not snug. I don't like jackets tight around the waist.

Not warm enough for subzero temperatures, but roomy enough to add an extra layer. I usually wear a regular small but ordered this in petite because I like a sportier look. This jacket is perfect.
