Slightly fitted does not make sense in a winter outerwear garment. It's winter as in cold so one would likely want to layer a sweater or sweatshirt under a winter down coat. Unless the wearer is a willowy or very thin person, a 'slightly' fitted outerwear jacket is uncomfortably snug. Too bad, nice jacket

I loved everything about this jacket: the colors (Nautical Navy/Sugarplum), the hood, the large, warm pockets, the length, the style and the warmth. However, I ended up returning it because the fit was too tight in the waist (middle section). I could get it zipped but there wasn't much room for a sweatshirt or certainly not if I gained an ounce. I took the Bean size survey and ordered a "regular large" based on that but it was still tight over my stomach. At 5'3" 135 lbs I usually wear a Petite large and have a Land's End that fits perfectly but doesn't have a hood. I've noticed every jacket I've looked at on Bean is "slightly fitted." This is great for young or thin women but I've come to realize I won't be able to wear any "fitted" or "slightly fitted" style with my body shape. Also, as others stated the sleeves (arm hole) are rather tight if you want to wear a sweatshirt or sweater. I wanted the fleece lining for additional warmth but it is true as others have said that, although it doesn't go far into the sleeve, it goes far enough that it grabs your clothing sleeve. I could have lived with that by holding my sleeves but I can't deal with the tight fit.

The coat is very tight in the shoulder area the fleece lining sticks to every shirt you put on this coat is made for a short sleeve top , and then maybe you can have room I'm a 1 x and I bought a 2 x and it's tight I love the coat but so sad it's fits that way !!! I bought 2 one on the blue and one in the pinks

The jacket is very nice and I like the longer length, but it runs extremely small. I had a hard time getting my arm into the sleeve when wearing a sweater. I am sorry to have to return it.

At first, I was not sure what to expect because the reviews were all over the place in terms of sizing. I don't have an L.L. Bean store local. Therefore, I was trying to figure out the size in which to purchase. I purchased an XL based on the reviews saying that this jacket is tiny. That is not the case. I usually wear a L or XL in Columbia jackets. Depending on the style. But this jacket is very boxy. The width and length are the same. It was like one giant square. It was much too short and would have almost appeared to be cropped on my body type. The size is more than generous. But, the jacket size seems to go larger in just width, not both length and width. So it looked very strange when being worn. I have a long torso and an hourglass body shape. And this jacket did not do me any favors. I was apprehensive to try a new company given that I have huge success with Columbia jackets. And that apprehensiveness was accurate. I only wanted the jacket for the colors. But I can't justify keeping an ill-fitting coat like this when I have so many others that fit and flatter my body type better. I would classify this as a Fall jacket. It's much thicker and less warm than other down jackets I own. No inside pocket for phone/wallet. If you have a short torso, order your normal size and you'll be happy. The colors are beautiful - it's just not flattering on a curvy, long torso body.

This is the first LLBean product I am returning. It is cute and the color is great, but extremely thin. If you're looking for a warm winter jacket, look for something else. The jacket felt like the manufacturer had forgotten to add down in it.

The fleece lining on this jacket is barely fastened to the shell. It is so loose it blocks the sleeves and makes it hard to put on. You can't layer under it.

Bought this for my daughter. She only had it for a few days and it ripped on the side. It wasn't too small and all she did was turn to the side and it ripped. Very poor quality

Awkward sizing. Lining sticks to clothes while trying to put on.

I was so excited to try this jacket - the colors are so great and it looks like the perfect weight for a New England winter. Sadly, my usual LL Bean size - XLPetite - didn't even come close to zipping. I went to the store and tried on the XL regular and it wasn't any better. They did not have the plus sizes in the store, so I don't know if that would have worked. I usually find plus sizes to be scaled for taller people, so I am not optimistic.

Received size L for a child. Would not fit me. I asked for Ladies regular L.

Buy at least a size larger if you want it to fit! Not the quality I expect from LL Bean.

The jacket feathers fell out after 3 weeks. I was very disappointed but LLean did offer me another jacket but I declined.

I'm not a large person. I purchased this based on reviews and sized way up. Nope, still didn't fit. It's way too tight in the shoulders and waist. I tried on an XL of the male version in store and that was the same way. It's just a very ill fitting coat.

Very disappointed. The jacket had a burn mark over the pocket. Very poor quality control. I returned the jacket.

This jacket is very cute and fits great. Unfortunately, I decided to wear it outside the home when I went trick or treating with my kids... (hadn't worn it yet and hadn't owned it for a month yet). I bumped up against something and it tore the jacket immediately. I have owned similar material jackets from other companies and never has anything like this happened before. This is poor quality and my first purchase with LL Bean and last! They will not accept it for an exchange or refund and suggested I get tenacious tape.
