It's cut trim through the waist. Don't try to get bulky sweaters under it. No inside pockets ! Love the colors!

I returned as lined with fleece which sticks to clothing allowing little to no movement of arms.

what appeared to be a great jacket (and it is warm) is ill fitting. The petite large has very tight sleeves - so much so that a sweater does not fit under them, and being lined with fleece it is difficult to not get it all bunched up. Disappointed in this. Buyers beware.

This jacket is genuinely so beautiful, but the sizing is off! I initially ordered an XL, but it was too big, so I returned it. I then ordered the M, but it was too tight, so again, I returned it. I ordered theatre and the bust area was too tight. It's such a shame because I love this jacket. It soft and extremely flattering. I might order the XL again and just make it work by layering you really can't beat the price of this jacket.

I read the reviews, I shouldn't have purchased the jacket. Upper arms too tight, inner shelve lining comes out when putting arm in. Feathers everywhere. I have wore it 3 times already pilling?

I bought a size L as my older M jacket is getting a bit snug, but this is even tighter, especially across the chest and in the shoulders. Sleeve length was good, but I had to send it back.

This is an update to an earlier review. I LOVE LL Bean down jackets and have had two others, both size Regular Small. Because of the fleece lining and a bulkier cut, the Regular Small was tight under the arms and bunched right above the bustline, but the rest of the jacket fit well. I tried a Regular Medium, which was more comfortable under the arms but was bigger than I like elsewhere, including with arms that are too long for me. I tried a Medium Petite, which was a good length on me (I'm 5'4") but was once again tight and uncomfortable under the arms. I felt like Goldilocks, with one too small, one too big... but none just right! It's a lovely jacket and is very warm, and I appreciate the fleece lining, which is very cozy, but it just doesn't fit me right.

The jacket itself is good and keeps me decently warm, but there are small down feathers that pop out often. Not a good option if you are allergic to down for sure.

I love everything about the jacket and so bummed it didn't fit right, the sleeves are too puffy but the armpits were so so tight I looked like a pro bodybuilder and it wasn't comfy.

The jacket overall is very comfortable and warm. However, the zipper glitches a lot. It's not broken per se, it just catches (especially on the up-zip) frequently.

I own at least 5 other LLBean jackets and coats and always buy women's large for easy fit over layers. This jacket is cut in at the waist and was too small with a tee and sweater underneath.

Cute. True to size. Feathers are coming out of the sleeves though.

I wear a size medium in LLBean clothes. Based on that, the customer service rep told me I would wear a medium in this coat even though it's fitted. Fortunately, I was skeptical enough of his advice that I ordered both the medium and the large. I couldn't even put a lightweight sweatshirt under the medium! I returned that one and kept the large. Even my bulky sweatshirt fits under the large, which is appropriate for winter when people dress in layers. However, the hood on the large is pretty loose and there's no cinch strap to make it tighter (unlike on my old LLBean winter coat). I expect I'll have to sew a snap on to keep it from blowing off on days when it's windy but not cold enough to require a hat under the hood.

I received this jacket from my mother as a Christmas gift and I loved it so much. It fits perfectly, it is warm and lightweight, and the colors are great. Unfortunately, a drink exploded on me so I attempted to wash it. I followed all of the instructions on the label perfectly, but noticed an odd smell from the down and decided to use a dryer sheet. It is now covered in hundreds of tiny oil stains that I know are unrelated to the clear liquid I had spilled, as it had fully dried without consequence prior to my attempt to wash it. I truly love this coat and had it for less than a month, and I am very sad that this happened.

I purchased this along with the 850 Down Sweater jacket, to see which one fit better. I loved the colorblock pattern on this, but I ordered mediums in both jackets and this one was definitely snug once I zipped it up. No room to layer anything underneath. Since the other coat fit PERFECTLY, I ended up returning this one. I just lost weight, which is why I needed a new coat and the last thing I wanted to do was size up to my old size!

I have this same style in older, greens/blues style. in a SMALL, purchased 2 yrs ago. This yrs purchased this one in a MED so I could wear the sherpa jacket underneath!. Sadly It runs way too small to wear a layer underneath! not even a sweatshirt. the can't move your arms and then feels tight across chest. I wear w a shirt or tee underneath, it's been 19 degrees this week, and even w just my tee....this jacket has kept me since and warm! I like layers for driving or if temps change....but this jacket is very warm. I LOVE that the body has a soft fleece lining for just wearing a tee.....it's perfect the Medium, but LLBean too is cutting clothes much smaller there days. I even checked all my other bean jackets to confirm...they are mostly all Smalls! I chose the mauves colorblock in this jacket.....and I really like it. (Im usually a blues person) I have received many compliments. I like the cuffs that hung my wrists to keep cold out, the zip lined pockets are perfect and the hood is very comfortable. The "body"is a little more "fitted" than my old one and it's a little shorter....comes just below my waist/TOP of hips.. it's not very long at all. but is IS WARM!

Unfortunately, it is too tight in the shoulders. If I get the larger size, then it is too big in the waist.

Warm lightweight jacket. A bit difficult to get on with a sweater. Fleece lining catches sweater material and fit is a bit tight. Needs to be looser.

Really wanted to love this jacket, the color was great and it fit really well but every time I tried it on my clothing stuck to the fleece in the lining. I really like fleece but not in the body of a jacket so I had to return it.

Very nice jacket but even in Small Petite, the sleeves were much too long for me so I had to return the jacket. For some reason, sleeve length is long in L.L. Bean clothing, often even size X-small petite, the sleeves are too long for me.

I normally take a medium in LL Bean clothes, but I usually buy my coats/jackets a size bigger to allow for layers underneath. I bought a large, but had to return it for an XL. It's kind of bulky. It's definitely warm, but it's hard to get my arms into the sleeves because of the fleece lining. It would be better if the fleece only went to the shoulder seams.

Ordered my usual size but had to return as it was far to small. Exchanged for the next size but haven't received it yet.

This jacket is super warm; I thought no way it could be so light but also be so warm, but it is. I get very toasty when wearing a sweatshirt underneath and walking the dog. I am a size S in LL Bean tops but I got this in an M. I'm small but large busted and wanted to be able to wear more than a t shirt underneath. Fit is great and the jacket is very flattering. I always have to hold the sleeves of my shirts or else they will bunch up when I put the jacket on, which is irritating, and the inside lining of the jacket sleeves always comes out at the cuffs. I'm also irritated that it's so much of a stain magnet. I've had this coat a week, I wear it outside to walk my dog and in my car to work and back and I already need to wash it. The cuffs well past the wrists, among other areas, are filthy. I'm not rolling in mud here, guys. I do really love the color and the warmth is great. Hand warmer pockets are also nice and warm if you need to warm up your hands.
