This is the second time I've purchased this exact coat in the same size and in the same color. I wore out my last one after many years. This coat is fantastic as it is very warm without being bulky and is slightly waterproof. I also love the length of it. That being said, they made three changes since the last time I bought it. Change 1 - They added zippers to the pockets to put your hands in. I'm fine with this change. Don't think it was necessary but it's fine. Change 2 - They took away the inside chest pocket zipper. I personally liked that zipper. The snap in the middle that is there now isn't as good for how I use that pocket. Change 3 - They got rid of the strip of material that went around the wrists. On the strip were the snaps to tighten the sleeves. Now, when you use the snaps on the sleeves to tighten up at the wrist, it makes the coat sleeve get all twisted. It looks horrible. This change almost caused me to to return the coat but I still love the weight and feel of it enough that I decided to keep it. Because I can't tighten the sleeves, they are floppy and slightly annoying but I've decided it isn't worth returning the coat. I hope that by the time I need to buy a new coat they have changed it back!

This jacket is nice and warm without being too bulky and heavy. I didn't want a puffy coat and this one fits the bill. It has nice sized pockets for storing gloves and others with zippers where I can securely put my phone. All in all all a nice jacket.

I ordered this jacket in the green color and love it. I am 5'5" running anywhere between 140-145 pounds. Small tops are fitted for me and mediums are roomier. I order this jacket in a medium and it is borderline too baggy. For me, I decided to keep it because I wanted a casual outdoorsy jacket. However, if you are in between sizes or wanting to use this jacket for a more "cute" look, I recommend going down to the small size.
To note: The jacket is longer in the back, hitting maybe 3-4 inches above the knee for me. Keep that in mind if you are shorter than me it'll be long in the back.
Love that you can zip the fur on and off.

I owned an earlier version of this parka and was happy to see it is still offered. I ordered a petite large and my height is 5'2" and weigh 150 lbs. It fits perfectly. I like they kept the waist drawstring to give this a more fitted look to my waist. The lining is lightweight, doesn't feel bulky and I can layer underneath when it gets colder. What I miss the most with this new version is the change in the pockets hence the four stars. The older version had pockets that can be accessed from the top as well as from the side. This version just has a simplier pocket that opens only from the top. I suppose it was to keep the cost the same.

Love the coat, and I've already received compliments on it. Very pleased with the fit and the quality. The only thing I wish it had was a bit more insulation.

Very well made. The only thing I was disappointed about was the fur on the hood. It was flat and split down the middlenot round and fluffy looking.

I bought the Medium Regular because I wanted it long. It is long, including the sleeves - should've bought a petite size but honestly this is fine. Love the split hem and LOVE the two-way zipper. My only criteria for a new jacket this year was that it was lightweight, easy to walk in, hit mid-thigh, and had handwarmer pockets. This ticks all the boxes. I am hot 100% of the time even in the coldest temps, so this will be my all-winter jacket in NY.

Love the color and weight of the coat. I purchased the 2x, however the width in the sleeves is small. It was very tight tight on my arms and even tight on my daughter's (who's smaller than me) I have to return it it. Check the measurements before ordering!

I really wanted to like this coat. The upper arms seemed bulky on me, so I returned it.

This is a terrific Fall mid weight coat! Very well made. I did find mine to run a bit small. The only issue I have with mind is that on windy days when I pull up the faux fur lined hood, the fur got in my mouth! Hopefully Beans can redesign this coat with shorter fur next year, as it is presently way too long to use with the hood up! Otherwise a great coat!

First, the description says: removable faux fur hood. The fur is removable, NOT the hood (that is a true negative for me as I rarely need a hood).
Second, I live in southern California, so I have no need for a heavy duty coat that cold regions require. I believe this coat will be the perfect coat for this area of the country. I went up a size so that I can wear a sweater underneath if necessary. Also, if I'm out in a big crowd, I will wear a small crossbody bag under my coat. Another thing I like about this coat is the lining; it is quilted for added warmth and it is NOT that shiny, stiff material that makes noise when you move. There are enough pockets and of adequate size. I also like the outer shell; it is 100% cotton and it has sort of a peach feel to it. So overall, and despite the fact the hood is not removable, I'm going to keep and it and I'm confident it will last a long time. BTW: I bought black, and it is a true black.

Loved the jacket, pockets, snap on the sleeves was a plus instead of the Velcro. I hated to send it back . It was because of material which is cotton so every speck of lint and animal hair stuck to it. I wish I could have kept it the fit was fine and hope I will find something else before winter !

im 5feet 125lbs and i ordered a petite medium,, the parka fits perfectly and i like the details of the deep pockets,, but i dont think this is the coat is warm enought to wear outdoor when the temps are below freezing with wind. this is not a down coat but the lining is polyester. i wish LL Bean would make a warm down parka styled like the East Endfor those who live south of Maine or North Dakota!! we in Pennsylvania dont need a Baxter St Park Parka!!

The outer fabric, zipper, pockets and stitching is good quality. But the inner liner is that cheap thin synthetic that takes in the temperature of the outdoors. So if it's under 35 degrees it's cold against the body and there's much less insulation than expected. I wear a long sleeve T and a sweater under it and it's still not warm enough in cold weather. I always counted on LLBean quality. Since you're apparently going with cheaper materials now, you should rate the costs for comfort in winter weather. This would rate good as early spiting ir autumn but not deep winter cold.

This coat is beautiful, but it is not nearly as warm as I expected! I bought it for my teenage daughter. We live in Missouri and it's ok for the winter here but she is looking at colleges in Minnesota and Wisconsin and I was hoping this coat could be her winter coat up there. It's not at all warm enough.

I own 6 LL.Bean coats and overall this one is similar in quality that I expect except for the fur hood which is poor quality and shabby looking.

Thought I would add a new winter coat to my wardrobe. I normally wear the LLB Women's Winter Warmer Coat, a good basic warm coat that is flattering and very practical. The East End Parka lacked structure and was not very flattering on me, especially for a petite. The handwarmer pockets are not flattering if you have a large bust (the pockets do not stay closed). The "fur" on the hood is a little fussy--too bad the whole hood doesn't zip off. The burgundy color is a nice change from black or navy-- not too bright or muted.

The jacket is nice overall. Love the pockets. It's definitely suited for warmer weather above 40F. The things I don't like are, when I try to zip it up to the top and I don't have the hood on, it feels like it's chocking me. So basically I keep it zipped only the point where the collar doesn't stand or I put the hood on head. Also the sleeves seem short and they are wide at the opening, having the button to close the gap helps but still feels looser than a normal coat. I wasn't thrilled with the color options either.

This is rated a "warmer" coat. Maybe good to 40 degrees, but not my idea of a winter coat. It's just a cloth outer shell with polyester lining.

I love the coat; it's warm and a good fit. Unfortunately, the plastic on the pull string broke the first time I tried to tighten it. I should have returned, but I needed the coat.

Made very well. Sleeves are too long and the snap at the wrist doesn't help close it up. The side pocket i believe were designed to be quite secure, which they are but not easy to get your hands in them especially when it is cold out. I will be returning and try another style.

This coat is well made and durable. The fit is great, too. I just don't think it is as warm as it is supposed to be.

Disappointed. I bought 2x. I usually get1x coat and have 4 from LL Bean. My arm size has changed due to medical reasons. I thought 2x would feel more comfortable. NOT. This coat in 2x is even more snug in the arm than my 1x wool coat that I have cold water washed. The overall fit and look is fine, nice in middle, not too big. But the arms ??? It's going back ASAP. I ordered black and it has a faded look . Also the wrist has no cuff inside. The cold air will just shot up arm. Sorry but this jacket won't work for me. I wish other reviewers would be more specific on the fit itself.
