I ordered a large so I could wear a LLBean flannel shirt underneath if the weather was cold. The coat fits perfectly and I always receive complements. Not only does the rain not penetrate the material, the water runs right off. One of it's best features is the two way zipper that allows you to open the bottom of the jacket so you can sit without it bunching up.

Your jacket, lovely. For me, no. Because it's fitted it was too tight in some areas. The good news. Incentive to go on a much needed diet.

I just purchased this coat last week, and yesterday's windy and cold weather was its first test. The coat passed its test with flying colors! What I love: the quality two-way zipper, the pockets, the water repellent fabric and the car coat length. Fit is as I expect- I wear about a size 14, and need the coat to fit with 1-3 layers underneath, so the XL is perfect. Hope to see LL Bean make a few improvements: womens coat needs an inside pocket, like they did with the mens coat. Would also be nice to see this coat made with a thinsulate/warmer inside, so I could buy that one for winter weather here in the mid-atlantic. This new offering is a good one, and I can highly recommend it.

This jacket is exactly what I was looking for! I'd had a comparable jacket from another company for about 20 years, and it was wearing out. Last year I looked for a replacement at LL Bean and other retailers. I finally ordered one from a competitor. It was okay, but not really the fit or features I was looking for. This jacket is perfect! Is just the right weight for fall or spring, has lots of pockets, and a two-way zipper. And it keeps the rain off. I love the Nautical Navy color. I also like the hood. Many hoods are too large for me and fall over my face, but this one fits much better. I debated between getting a medium and a large. I have broad shoulders, though, and like to layer under it. The large was just right for me. Love it!!

This is a great light weight jacket that is perfect for cool fall days and nights. It is very well made and is excellent quality. The only improvement I would make is to have the arm holes a little bigger under the arms.

Amazing jacket for early fall in the Pacific Northwest. This jacket is not too heavy and the fit is great for a light sweater underneath. Waterproof for those rainy day walks. I highly recommend this jacket.

I had a jacket from LL Bean like this back in 1995. Great jacket, and have asked you to bring it back a couple of times since. Finally, this jacket is almost the same exact thing except for my other one had thinsulate in it. I don't think this one will be as warm but, I still like it. It is not so easy to find a jacket that cinches in at the waist and is light weight like this is, especially in petite. Which in a lot of instances is non-existent. So, I am happy that you had this one.

I wanted a good all weather coat that was not too heavy to wear over fall and winter sweaters. This coat is perfect. I love the color.

This jacket is stylish, lightweight, and practical. It's good for early fall to winter temperatures. A perfect all-around jacket that you can use for any activities from going out to dinner to hiking. I looked for a jacket like this for years and this is exactly what I wanted.

I am so pleased with this rain jacket for so many reasons. The color is beautiful--a rare shade of green with blue undertones that looks particularly nice with a cooler complexion ;). I bought a L and it fits perfectly. The arms are a nice length, it doesn't pull on my broader shoulders or on my underarms when I lift my arms up (to drive, for example), and there is enough room to wear a long-sleeve shirt underneath (I'd recommend going up a size if you want to wear sweaters), and the waist cinches to give it some shape. I LOVE that it has the zip on the bottom too, so when I sit down it won't pull on my thighs. The inside lining makes it comfortable. So many rain other jackets make me feel like I'm just wearing a big plastic bag, and they don't look attractive, either. I also love all the pockets! Pockets in front to hold keys etc, but also side pockets to slip your hands into. This jacket is exactly what I have been looking for. Stylish, comfortable and functional.

*Warmth: 3/5* Definitely a jacket, not a coat. Feels lightweight, and should be good for fall but I'm not sure if it will keep me warm enough for winter (I live in Colorado). If you live somewhere with mild winters this would be perfect for you. However, I am excited about the fact that it's waterproof and I think it will be great for rain and light snow. Does not feel bulky and the flannel lining is really quite cozy. *Durability: 5/5* Very well made! I bought this because I needed a replacement for a parka (not LL Bean) that tore so badly last winter I couldn't sew it back up. I don't think I will have that problem with this jacket at all. No loose threads and the garment's construction is solid. *Fit: 5/5* I ordered a Medium Petite which was just perfect. It fits like a dream. I have larger upper arms and broad shoulders, and was worried that an M would be too tight here, but that was not a problem at all. The length is good as well; it falls just below my rear and the sleeves are not too long either. The inner drawstring cord is good for providing shape. *Color: 5/5* Perfect navy color with a subdued flannel lining. Exactly as it appears on the website. *Overall: 4.5/5* A great jacket for mild weather that could easily be worn walking around downtown, running errands, or hiking. Cute and durable. Suitable for temperatures in the range of 30s-50s, light snow, and rain; but I think I will need something more substantial for anything colder than that. Perfect for wearing over sweaters (even bulky ones). I'm so glad I bought this jacket and I'm sure I'll wear it a lot!

This jacket is perfect, but I have one little suggestion. Please add inside pocket to all of your jackets and coats. It helps with privacy. I love, love love this jacket.

Great quality but didn't fit like a petite size. The jacket was too big and sleeves were too long, otherwise great style and love the snap buttons instead of using a zipper.

Perfect for rajn, spring and fall. Only fault is tighter pockets but at least there are 4 pockets.

This was a beautiful coat Unfortunately I had to return it as it didn't fit my hips right...I'm extra wide. I really wished I could have kept it.

I found the hood to be too small and the sleeves to be too wide. When I put the small hood over my head, it seemed to lift the jacket up on my body, as if my neck and head were too tall. Sleeve length and jacket length were spot on, and it fit nicely across shoulders, so I don't think a larger or smaller size would have helped. Also, the jacket fabric is quite noisy. I would not wear this hiking, it would drive me crazy.

Your review Good fit, reasonably wind and water-resistant -- not really water-proof. Zips nicely & has snaps too. Color good, but no color choices. Lining okay, fairly warm. Pockets excellent and well-placed. Price very good. Will be tight with winter sweater underneath. Hood a bit uncomfortable, but may improve with more wearings. Quality insights are 2-3 sentences long. Review title Replaces 2 old NorthFace jackets

It kept me dry and comfortable for an hour's walk in light rain with temps in the 50s. In a heavy rain, it soaked through after 15 minutes.

Seems made well. No lining to speak of so will need a heavier sweater or flannel shirt underneath. The zipper works well which was a pleasant surprise as most don't anymore. I would say it's more of a "summer"'rain jacket, at least here in NH.

I ordered this in the blue thinking it would look more navy. It is a brighter blue than I was expecting. The fabric is a little stiff, but for a rain jacket it works well. The fit is a little boxy, but you can help that by adjusting the interior strings. I am 5'7" and weigh 127 and the small fits well. I also ordered the softshell jacket and I like the fit of that better. However this jacket will be better in the rain I think.

Not good for extremely cold days yet good for 30's and 20's. Very stylish. The pockets are great for keys, gloves or whatever. The jacket is slightly fitted. .

Great every day This jacket is replacing the outer part of my 3 in 1 jacket. The zipper broke on my other jacket. The jacket is roomy enough for me to be unable to wear an inner layer. I like the outside pockets. But I miss having an inside chest pocket. I do not like carrying my wallet in the outside pocket even though it has velcro to keep it closed.

This is an extremely good looking jacket with great features. I wish that I could have felt comfortable in it, but I felt over-whelmed. I am small and bought it in an extra small because I am 5'3". The material is rainproof and therefore too stiff.
