I originally ordered this raincoat in size Small Reg. (nautical blue). I reviewed it upon arrival, saying it would have to be exchanged for a size Med. Reg. due to the too-tight fitting across the hips. In all other respects it was satisfactory. The size Med fits better, but there is still a slight issue with the hip width. I think, as another reviewer noted a while back, that the cut is too straight, without enough allowance for proportional lower body width. I will keep the exchange, but for that reason alone, cannot give it a 5-star rating. (Someone with narrow hips might not have any problem, though. I'm 5'7 and 130 lbs.)

Excellent raincoat! This coat had everything I was looking for: extremely lightweight and packable, excellent coverage, and rainproof. The only reason it didn't work for me was the white interior. I needed something that would be a neutral, classy travel coat and the white interior was not my style.

Fit was as expected. Need a lighter raincoat that works for walks in the rain in milder weather. I would love it if the cut were not as straight and was more a-line to make make it more roomy for my hips. But it did fit. Seems like it should be easy to fold up into its pocket. Haven't tried this yet.

I loved the fit and features, wish it came in other colors, wish there were instructions for the "packs in a pocket". I wish the side pockets were stitched at the bottom inside the coat as they could be inside pockets too. The hood does fall past your eyes. It is very lightweight. For that reason alone, I think the price is a bit spendy. I think $75 would be a fair pricepoint. Otherwise, I love it... can't wait to wear it in Scotland.

Nice long trench style, but unfortunately the hood falls clear over your eyes. Velcro, toggles, lots of adjustables. True to size, and perhaps a tad bit forgiving.

I really like this raincoat: color, length, adjustable hood. I did size up to give room for a sweater underneath. I would suggest getting rid of the lowest Velcro closure, because if you use the two-way zipper to allow for a longer stride, the Velcro winds up fastening on its own, defeating the purpose of the adjustable zipper. Problem solved by covering one side with a scrap of Velcro, easily removed if fastening becomes important.

Well made. A little snug through the hips. Like the long length. Haven't worn in rain yet.

Looks great. Going to Italy in Sep and needed something light and packable---as well as bottom covering. This should do the trick!

Being a lightweight rain coat - which was what I desired, I went way up in size to be able to now wear heavier tops underneath if I chose , but I want something to wear on the warmer rainy days of Spring to come. This was just what I needed in that you won't sweat to death as you do in most rain wear and we are predicted to have a wetter than normal Spring. Had I ordered my normal size of large, I would have been returning it . This runs very small. I also have an issue with the color choices. Blah , come on ! Spring colors, please in this length !!!!!!

I loved my previous same coat , but after many years of use it finally started cracking ! So I'm sure I'll love my new one! I like this one because of cinching ! Haven't used it much yet ! It is so perfect for the warm weather and surely keeps you so dry! It's seems to fit well ! I could have gotten smaller size ! The hood is pretty large

I got one of these in 2007, and it wore really well, till eventually the coating at the neck line started to peel off. Time to replace, and when I ordered the same size (L) this time it was too small! XL now fits the same as L did previously. Love the length, keeps water off your trousers in the rain. Lightweight; could use a couple of internal pockets for travel, so I added those myself.

I purchased this raincoat to replace a similar LLBEAN raincoat that I've enjoyed for 10 years. Both are size Medium. I like the new zipper breast pocket and the drawstring waist adjustment. However this new raincoat appears to be cut slightly slimmer than my old one; consequently it's snug when worn over several winter layers. For wearing over fleece and down layers I'd recommend purchasing one size larger than usual. I don't know how that would affect sleeve length, but with velcro at the cuff it shouldn't be an issue. Worn over usual clothes it fits fine and silhouette looks trim. i expect to enjoy it for many years.

I was hoping to replace my old LL Bean coat that I wear year- round. It's great protection from the wind and great for layering in the winter. The only problem with this one is that it barely covered my knees and I would've liked a little more room at the bottom for hiking

The only thing I have against this coat is the " crinkly" outer layer. The construction is wonderful; every seam and opening are set so that no rain can penetrate k

This raincoat is snug to say the least. It is easily 4 inches more narrow than the nearly identical short version. It would be restrictive to wear over even a light fleece or sweater. I'm somewhere between medium and large, so the large should have fit. Am exchanging for extra large.

I have been looking for a light weight raincoat. I live in the south so never wear heavy garments. After reading all of the reviews, I decided to take a chance. As usual, the garments are not adequately large in the hips which is why I went up from my normal medium to a large. The hip just does work. All is OK except the sleeves. They are really long and must be rolled up. Additionally, the waist adjustment is 6" below my waist. Do not plan to cinch it up. Not sure why Bean feels that women do not have hips. Have returned many coats because of this problem. The coat is not attractive; however, I bought it for those 2 days a year when the rain is very heavy and I must go out in it.

This jacket is a nice shell to keep in your car or your carry-on. It's not fancy, but gets the job done. I wear it in the summer to walk in the rain. The hood is well designed and stays up in the wind. The sleeves are nice and long with adjustable wrists. I bought the medium so that I can layer underneath it during cooler weather. I'm giving it four stars because the zipper can be finicky.

I've had this raincoat for more than a year now; finding it comfortable and useful. When the weather isn't below 40 but is windy, I put a few layers on under my coat and have a great windbreaker without the bulk of a heavy outer coat. It's wonderful about shielding me from rain. Because I got the coat length, I rarely need to carry an umbrella The coat has some "breathe-ableness" that helps in the warm weather downpours. The one drawback is that I'm still learning to manage the zipper tabs; they are an important part of the coat.

My only quibble with this otherwise excellent raincoat is the velcro v. snaps. I would prefer snaps because the velcro wants to attach itself to anything it can! I bought big enough for sweaters underneath & I like the waist cinching feature. Brighter colors would be welcome.

This coat was a good fit, true to size. It felt great on, light weight and I loved the length. But, I returned it due to the velcro closures on the storm flap covering the zipper. The velcro was very stiff and strong and I have ruined too many clothes with velcro. If it had been snaps instead, I would have definitely kept it!

Very good quality and perfect fit. The zipper can be a bit fussy, but just requires a little patience. It's a great weight and definitely keeps me dry!

This was purchased to replace one of the same type that had worn out and was no longer waterproof. These coats are a good value but they don't last forever. I love the length, and the generous fit allows it to go over bulky sweaters which is needed in cooler rainy weather, as the coat is unlined. So you can wear it in three seasons if you dress appropriately underneath. The things I didn't like: as with my previous coat, the zipper is fussy at the bottom. It doesn't operate smoothly at the starting point. And I was very disappointed in the choice of colors - only dark colors were offered. I would much rather have a light/bright-colored raincoat for safety and visibility, or at least they could add some reflective accents to this coat.

When I saw this on line, I knew it was what I had been looking for a longer rain coat/jacket. I purchased two sizes, not being sure of the fit. I kept the larger one, as I thought the fit ran on the slimmer side and the sleeve needed more room. I'm sending the smaller one back and I'm still not sure about the sleeve on the larger one. I would have liked a wider choice of colors.
