I have an LL Bean rain jacket that I bought in the early 90's. I love it and wanted to have another one to keep at our other place. The one I have is lined with nylon and has inner pockets. It's comfortable and actually a size smaller than I wear, but still fits. The new one was lined with some sort of rubber like material, and the sleeves were tight. It was a size larger than the old one, but felt confining. I was very disappointed. Sorry.

The sleeves are extremely tight in the upper arm. This will not work for me. Also disappointed in the fabricit feels thin and flimsy, like it would not be durable. The zippers and pockets seem nice. Sending back mainly due to the fit.

I would call this coat water resistant, not waterproof. We ordered these for our staff at an outdoor nature based school, where we are outside in the rain for long periods of time. Unfortunately we are getting wet if it's more than just a passing shower. I think the coat would be fine for walking a short while in the rain, or getting to or from a building in the rain. But not if you plan to be outside in the rain for hours.

I have been a customer of LLBean for many years and have always been satisfied with the quality of the merchandise. This jacket was very disappointing because the fabric is not of good quality. It has a crinkly sound which resembles wax paper. This jacket was not inexpensive ($100) , but the fabric sounds like cheap items...which I don't buy. The color and construction is okay, but I cannot wear this around other people. I also ordered slacks which were supposed to be 28" inseam and are 30"....now another $15 to get them hemmed. I am waiting for the rest of the order, a bathrobe, so i hope there is nothing wrong with that!

I purchased this for my adult daughter. It arrived with a strong smell of chemicals. I immediately washed it according to the instructions, and the smell disappeared. It's definitely not the same quality as the one I bought for myself several years ago. Seems LL BEAN is slipping .

I realize hate is a strong word and I don't use it lightly. I've had this thing since 2017 and it's been with me on every outdoor excursion that has a remote chance of rain. It's durable and won't wear out. I don't like buying in excess which is why I won't replace it until it dies. But aside from keeping me dry in light rain this jacket brings me no joy to use. The material is crinkly and not soft, seams and cuffs rough, fabric uncomfortable on bare skin. The main zippers and pocket zippers all snag more often than not. Water does not bead well and even after light rain it takes a long time to dry. In extended rain, water comes right through. It is not breathable. I end up being soaked inside and out from sweat and rain. I've washed it with tech wash and retreated it with in-wash Nikwax AND DWR restoring spray. It might have made a *little* difference. Honestly couldn't tell. I dread using this thing and can't wait until I accidentally tear it or leave it drying too close to the campfire.

I've been buying the same size from LL Bean which is 2x, for many years. Never had a problem with fit, never needed to return anything before this jacket. This garment was.Too tight across the back for comfortable movement and the sleeves were also tight. I tried it on with a short sleeved tee and the fabric of the jacket stuck to my arms like it was made of plastic bag material. Just very uncomfortable.

thought this would be more like the raincoats & windbreakers I've purchased from LL Bean in the past but this is way too flimsy, needs a lining. Haven't worn it in the rain but definitely would have to wear a sweater or layer underneath to keep warm, definitely not worth the price

When I saw the green color of this jacket, I decided to replace my similar but much older black LLBean jacket. I ordered a size larger than normal because reviews indicate a slimmer cut, and I wanted to be able to wear a fleece underneath. The fit was good except the sleeves were too long for me. Then I compared the style with my older jacket. The new jacket has no sleeve lining, Velcro gets in the way of the zipper, and the inside of the body seems unfinished with no liner. I did not wear this outside, so I can't speak to the jacket's comfort, but I did not think I would like it, clammy on rainy hot days with no lining, annoying zipper, and too long sleeves. The beautiful green color was just not worth it.

The jacket overall is nice but the fit is not as anticipated. Very small through hips, large across top and sleeves way too long. Will be returning it and swapping for a different jacket.

I have several XL H2O LLBean raincoats and several XL LLbean jackets and winter coats, but wanted a light weight rain jacket to pack in our RV for just in case it rains. I ordered a 2X, 2 sized larger that what I own because I wanted a larger size so that if need be, I could wear a sweater under it. This jacket was smaller than ANY of the LLBean coats I own. I sent it back.

I was a little bit disappointed about the color. The color is not bright as it shown in the catalog. The material is not too sturdy and doesn't worthy for that price.

So disappointed. I bought this jacket several years ago and the fit was comfortable and roomy. My size has not changed since then, but this jacket is snug, can never wear a sweatshirt or sweater underneath and the sleeves are tight.

I have an older version of this rain jacket that is great, but started to delaminate. I ordered the latest version. It fits other than the arms. I don't generally have a probably with the arms of clothing being too tight, so I was surprised that this was too tight. LL Bean - please re-work the plus size pattern for this jacket!!!

This is my 3rd LLBean rain jacket. Always the same size, 2XL. My last one frayed in the shoulders and arm holes so was replaced by LLBean. I appreciate that but upon receipt, I found that my new jacket is much tighter than the last for being the same size. I can wear this but it is not nearly as comfortable and I won't be able to wear a sweater or sweatshirt with it. Disappointing that they have changed the sizing.

The body fit true to size, but the arms were like sausage casings. Very odd for an LLBean item.

This jacket was styled for someone with very narrow hips. It was a bit to large in the shoulders and to snug in the hips (and my hips are not large.) The fabric was very flimsy. I understand that it is nylon, but did not seem substantial. I did like the color.

I've had a trail model jacket for about 10 yrs-great fit, great raincoat but the inside neck area cracked/tore; looks terrible & scratches neck (rest of jacket is in great condition) Purchased a new one, same size as original-too tight; didn't realize they had changed material & inset sleeve at shoulder (as opposed to raglan style at shoulder) causing a different fit. Ordered another, next size up & too big. Needless to say VERY disappointed & have to return 2 jackets-whenever stores reopen.

This is only a step above having a plastic rain poncho. Nice tailoring, but no warmth from a cool rain. I really wanted more of a rain coat, but the one pictured was too expensive/

I do not like the new trail rain jacket's Velcro at all. I prefer a snap at the top and at the bottom. The Velcro gets stuff on everything. There needs to be a 2-way zipper, as there used to be. This Petite Large was too tight and way too long. The only thing I like was the color! I'm sad it wasn't what I expected.

Great rain jacket; well made. Pink color is gorgeous. I'm normally a PS in Bean but bought PM for looseless and layering. Fit is spot on. What I can't tolerate is all the velcro. It's on the front placket and sleeves. Velcro catches on clothing and looks dirty after a while! What happened to snaps???

I bought this in Jan or Feb 2019 to wear in Alaska in June. I have only worn it then. I washed it when we got home in cold water, Tide free & clear, NO fabric softener and air dried. Fast forward to today 12/2 I wore it to snow blow as it was also sleeting. By the time I got inside I was soaked right thru to my bra. The whole inside fabric of the jacket was wet & no water was repelling off of the outside. I did a chat & they state that because I didnt put it in the dryer that is why it wasnt waterproof. So I just put it in the dryer as it was saoked & we will see if that works......if not....it's going back.

I purchased this rain coat for a trip and found the liner fabric was very rubbery and when I put the coat on over sweater or polartec it did not slide easily. I have only worn the jacket a few times and the liner has started to fray and peel. I would not recommend this jacket. It is not up to usual LL Bean standards.
