I wear 2x tops from LLBean. I bought a 3x jacket so it would be roomy and large enough to allow layers underneath for varying temperatures. It is tight in the bust area and in the upper arms. I'm a bit disapponted in the fit, but the color is beautiful and the jacket is good quality. I'm thinking of keeping it for when I lose weight.

Love the style, but in 70 degree weather in Northern Italy it poured rain and I froze. It needs a mesh lining.

If you are carrying this coat around don't forget to fold it in to itself. The many Velcro tabs have ruined many a sweater

It's past the year mark for any kind of a guarantee, but I wanted to note that the lining of the jacket is peeling off, falling off. The shedding material is in the car, on the sidewalk, on the dentist's office floor and now in the trash.. I have other rain jackets that are older and have never peeled. Can I trust a new LLB rain jacket?

I bought this for a trip (which I haven't taken yet), but it runs small. I bought L, and it won't do for layering, which I had hoped it would. SIZE UP if you want to wear a layer or two.
And I call BOGUS advertising in the "packs into a hand pocket" claim. There are 2 hand pockets, each 4" x about 10". IF there was a way to tightly roll the jacket into a tiny roll, you might have a chance of jamming it into a pocket, but it simply won't fit. Contrast that with my old jacket that isn't waterproof anymore, where the pocket was 10" x 9".
I hope it is AT LEAST waterproof, but time will tell

My husband and I bought these rain jackets for a trip to 2 yrs ago. They've been fine for light showers, but untested in heavy rain until last year. When we were caught in a heavy steady downpour, we were soaked though and sweaty. Not waterproof and no ventilation!
Llbean has always been our go to. So disappointed!!

This could have been the best rain jacket ever if not for all the Velcro. The zipper is covered with a flap that sufficiently protects the length of the zipper, but several pieces of Velcro also run the length of the zipper flap. THE FLAP DOES NOT NEED VECRO TO HOLD IT DOWN! This makes it ridiculously cumbersome to zip and unzip the jacket. You have to use one hand to pull apart each Velcro section to move the zipper along then you hit another Velcro section. Impossible to quickly get it on in the rain or when jumping out of your car. Too much effort to open and close. The over lap flap alone will keep rain off the zipper, if that was the intent. PlLEASE redesign this without Velcro. It would be a perfect jacket and I would buy for myself and family. As it is now, I have to return this.

So disappointed. Bought for camping trip for daughter. It rained all day and this jacket did not keep her dry. The rain soaked through. Might have worked if it had only been misting.

$99 doesn't buy much these days. The zipper on this jacket is so cheap that I doubt if it will last more than a few months - it's junk

Fits tight, especially in the shoulders and I bought a 2X. When zipping, the velcro gets in the way. Fabric makes me feel like I'm wearing a rubber suit. Probably sending back

The material is thin and flimsy. I did not like the feel of the fabric it was like saran wrap... not much protection or warmth there are all

Sleeves were tight. Would never be able to wear over a sweatshirt or heavy sweater. Have to return the jacket since it was for a trip.

I'm an LL Bean fan and was disappointed with this jacket. Luckily, I ordered a size larger than I would normally purchase and it is still skimpy. If I wanted to wear a sweater or sweatshirt under it, it definitely wouldn't fit. Definitely not thrilled with this purchase for almost $100.

Nice color, portable but it is NOT breathable, very sweat-inducing.

I was so excited for this jacket. I loved the color, the fit; I felt good in it. Sadly, it is not even remotely waterproof. The one and only time I wore it, I walked roughly the length of a football field in medium rain and was soaked completely through. Will be bringing back to the store to return. Now I'm not sure I can trust the "waterproof" label on the other, more expensive jackets sold from here either. :(

The sleeves are too small for my arms. I expected that a plus size garment would account for this but apparently not. Bursa I'll keep trying to find one that works.

Arms were extraordinarily tight. Sent it back. I have the previous longer version and it did not fit like that in the arms.

This isn't the lined jacket I remember. That one has kept me dry and comfortable and protected from wind for at least 10 years. I know there are new technologies and cost savings to consider but this is a sheet of plastic. It felt like I could rip it apart bare-handed.

I love the "idea" that LL BEAN offers plus sizes. But they simply don't fit plus sized bodies. They aren't long enough, and they are too tight in the arms and across shoulders.
I live in Maine, I'm an outdoorsy girl. I'm FAT. I'm trying to lose weight and by golly I'd like to look cute while doing it, in representing a nice local brand. Please advocate for TRUE PLUS SIZE BODIES. I'd be willing to be a model!

I recently purchased this jacket in the 2x and 3x sizes. I know jacket sizing can be inconsistent with LL Bean plus size jackets. Unfortunately, I had to return both jackets. The body of the 2x fit perfectly with room, but the arms were incredibly tight. The body in the 3x jacket was too large...and the arms were still too tight to allow more than a thin t-shirt underneath. I was recently in an LL Bean store and tried on the Women's Pathfinder GORE-TEX Shell Jacket in XL. It was a little too small in the body but the arms were a better fit than than this jacket. unfortunately, that jacket doesn't go any larger than XL. Too bad, it would've been the exact right jacket in just a size larger. Sadly, I think LL Bean may just not be the right fit for me when it comes to plus size outerwear.

Great fit (petite sizes) and timeless color. Way overpriced ($100!). Came defective (broken tie). Returned. First purchase from LL Bean. Wanted to love the brand because all my friends do. I will likely buy from a different, less expensive brand.

I prefer rain jackets to be roomy so I can wear layers underneath. The trend with many jackets now seems to be more fitted through the torso, which doesn't work for my apple shape. Disappointed.

I bought the extra small & the small thinking one of them would work for me. Its a nice jacket for a tall lady. Both of them had quite long sleeves-too long! I'm not that short either; just not tall. Sent them both back.
