I love the length, weight, color and fit, but the hood is unnecessary and adds unneeded bulk. While I think it is overpriced, I bought it because of the flattering length which is hard to find in a down vest, the flattering fit, and color options.

Light weight, fitted, yet generous enough for a sweater underneath. Warm without being bulky. Love long length & two-way zipper, although can be difficult to zip. Would like option without hood.

I would have rated this jacket 5 stars except that the plastic zipper is difficult to use. It is hard to get the two sides to join for zipping about 50% of the time. It is annoying. Good points: I can layer a sweater under it easily, it is very nice looking and has great pockets too. Also, very lightweight but warming. 2 way zipper is a nice feature as well.

This is a great vest, and I love the length, but I wish the hood were detachable. The hood makes it hard to wear with a coat, and even without a coat the design of the hood makes the shoulder line extend outward more than on your shorter vests. It makes the shoulder line a little mannish. I wish it fit exactly like your shorter vests at the shoulder but with the longer length.

this was a great vest to have on a family trip to Canada during the rainy season. Other reviews were correct - the zipper is cumbersome, and it would be awesome if the hood could be removed. But everything else about this vest is perfect.

Nice length, true to size.
The only thing I would change is maybe a detachable hood.

I am very rarely disappointed with any item I have ever purchased from LL Bean, and this vest is no exception. Initially, I was concerned about whether it would be warm enough for 20 degree temps, but it is a very warm vest and ideal for layering. I especially like the length of this item. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I wished that it fit a bit tighter in the neck area.

Ordered: Black, Petite Medium. Before purchasing I spoke with associate Ryan. He was spot on about the length 28 1/4" (something like that) from shoulder. Zipper is a little sticky to work but if you take your time its okay. Love the two way zipper for sitting. Love the Primaloft... no feathers moulting and sticking to my clothing.. It's light weight and can move in it easily. The only thing that could make this a "5" is if the hood would roll up into neck band or zip off. I wear vests year round and this is now my go to vest. Can't wait for another sale so I can purchase the blue. Thanks L.L. Bean. You Rock!

This vest is figure flattering but I felt on me it ran smaller than other LL Bean coats and vests. I would like to wear a sweater or layer under it, so I am going to go up a size. I have an hourglass shape with a smaller waist and larger hips and chest.
I don't mind the black panel on the dark blue vest because it adds some stretch and will conform to your shape.

The vest is comfortable and warm and the length is perfect. I feel that the size runs slightly big as I normally would wear a medium in this type of outerwear but the small was a perfect fit. I did not give this 5 stars because of the double zipper. I find it difficult to get started. Overall I love the vest and would recommend it.

I purchased both the black and blue colors in Petite XL - the vest is slightly fitted, I'm 5'0" 155lb 38B and this size allowed enough room to comfortably wear a sweatshirt or sweater underneath. Keeping the black, but returning the blue - I didn't pay enough attention to the photos, the blue has black accents and side panels, and I was looking for a solid blue, which would be more versatile.

The vest is great; however, the only problem is the double zipper. I have to climb into the vest which is not a problem - otherwise, it is a 5 star. Easy to wear and goes with everything plus is warm!
The vest is a perfect fit under sweaters and I love the longer style and hood.

Side fleece-poly panels are too wide and encroach on front and back sections. Sort of dorky looking, also gives it a cheap look. Otherwise a nice vest, lightweight and easy movement. Long is great, but sadly I must return.

Beautiful vest, but I am disappointed the hood can not be removed, or even rolled up and secured with a loop. Ordered the Petite XL. It does not seem oversized at all, I typically wear a 16P. The mariner blue is a beautiful shade of navy. Will look great with fall oranges/burgundys and with holiday reds!

This looks like someone took a regular size vest, cut it apart, and added stretchy sides to make a plus size vest. Really unattractive. I returned it.

The zipper is really difficult, I read reviews about it but thought maybe I'd get a good one. I have another LL B vest that doesn't have the stretchy sides (panels?) and like it a lot more than this. I do like the length though.

I loved the style of this vest, but I felt the quality wasn't there for $149 price. The zipper constantly sticks, and it was a little too lightweight for me.

Loved the weight, length, and hood on this vest. Unfortunately I had to return because the zipper would not zip smoothly or catch at all. Really wanted to love and keep but the zipper drove me mad the 3-4x I tried it.

I love everything about it except for the zipper. It is really hard to start and get lined up correctly.

it is too thin to be a jacket/vest. It is quite useless as protection from the cold, so too expensive for an inadequate outer vest.

I bought this over a year ago and love the warmth factor for being so minimally puffy. BUT the zipper is a pain and I find myself often reaching for another coat instead. Also the sizing is odd - I got an XL but the arm holes were too small so went up a size and now I'm swimming in it. It could be a great vest with some adjustments.

Vest is very nice but the zipper start is very difficult and frustrating to use.

I love the fit and the beautiful blue color! The issue is the zipper. It is difficult to zip. The zipper doesn't line up correctly. It's a struggle to zip it. You can't just put it on, zip and go. You have to take time to get it to zip.

I purchased this lightweight vest to go with Bean's Tropicwear shirt of the same color. This vest is described as "slightly fitted," but it's actually cut generously in the hips--too generously for me, as I am slim-hipped. I'll need to wear it with a belt. As I've noted in previous reviews, Bean's women's apparel is now primarily designed for pear-shaped women, so for women with my build, tops fit like maternity wear. I do love the color and fabric, though.

Thin packable material, nice and lightweight. Good layer for chilly days. I walk outdoors regularly and was on the lookout for a vest to layer, cover my backside and have deep pockets for gloves, phone, earbud case etc.
Only issue is sizing and fit. According to LLBean size chart, I am a Medium (my typical size in LLBean is Medium Tall). The Medium fit well up top but was surprisingly really snug across my hips. I kept the large, but now the top is too loose (arm holes too large, loose near neck) with extra room in the hips. I wound up keeping the vest because it was what I was looking for, but sizing is not accurate.
