I love this vest length, cover my hip so it's warm. However the material has some issues. It started pilling after a few times of wear also if you wash it and accidentally put it on a dryer...you will ruin it. The zip is not straight anymore. Wish I could love it!

So disappointed that this was so large. Ordered an extra small and it was way too big and I'm not really that small of a person. XX-small was backordered so sadly returned. Not sure if that would have fit either. Did seem like a very nice vest at a reasonable price. I feel that there has been inconsistency in sizing with some Bean products and sizes have gotten a lot bigger overall than they used to be. I never know what size to order anymore!

I love this vest EXCEPT that it's very scratchy in the neck area. I have to wear a collared shirt to be comfortable. It's so unfortunate that a person has to wear an item for several days before these problems reveal themselves. I'm very disappointed, as I love the other features and the fit.

Good fit but zipper is flimsy. The feel of the fleece is not as soft as other vests I have bought from Bean before probably due to recycled product.
Would NOT buy again.

Customer service will tell you that stitch marks will remain if you remove the patch, but they are just covering their tail. Stitch marks do not remain in poly fleece. Use a seam ripper, be gentle, and you can remove the hideous logo that many here are justifiably complaining about.

The vest is recycled polyester. It does not look or feel like a fleece. I wasn't thrilled by the texture or look of the material. It looked like it would burn in the dryer and wear out easily. Not something I'd like to wear. I've been disappointed in the quality of clothing for some time but still hoping for improvement. I have gotten nice clothes in the past. Too much plastic in clothing today. Hard to find affordable, natural materials. Also, hardly any clothes sold in XXS. Returning it.

Ugh! Why can't you offer some straightforward, standard colors like blue, green, gray, and brown (yes, BROWN! You used to offer a brown fleece vest---what happened to it?) These ridiculous "girlie" "designer" or whatever colors are obnoxious. (Well, at least you have black---suitable for mourning!) No stars for these colors.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I expected more from this brand. Sad to say when I washed it it got full of lint. The zipper broke . Basically money down the drain

The muted purple is exactly what I was looking for, but the armholes are enormous and flap in the wind, the waist design cuts you in half, and the vest is actually too long. I should have listened to the other reviewers! Bring back the old style and fit!

Previously I purchased two of these vests and loved them. I wear them a lot and decided another one would be useful. The new one has armholes that are enormous. Either LL Bean changed the specs for this vest or their quality control really slipped up. No one could have arms this large. Sadly I had to return the vest.

Armholes large enough for Hulk Hogan. Bottom like a ruffled skirt. Nice color.

When I washed it as the directions said, the zipper now will not lay flat. I may return the vest.

I followed the measurements and ordered recommended size based on chest measurement. Product was way too large in the rest of the body area/slightly large in chest area. Not a great description to say slightly fitted. It's huge.

I loved previous LL Bean fleece vests, but this one is a big fail for several reasons. It's too snug, too short, and the fabric is not plush like Polartec. In addition, the waist seam just adds bulk -- why?! Small fixes I made include carefully removing the ugly logo patch on the chest and carefully removing the uncomfortable nylon binding that runs around the top of the collar. I also took off the zipper pulls on all the zippers -- much more attractive for the colors that don't go with orange. I also ordered (and wear) the man's version in a Tall, which provides a looser, longer fit.

I am a loyal LLBean shopper, and have been for decades. I am not liking the prominent llbean logo on most shirts, vests etc. making me not purchase these items. .

In all the years I have been purchasing these vests these two are awful. When they were washed the first time, I had to rerun the washer then wipe it out from the lint. Once in the dryer with fabric sheets, I had to do the same. I must have missed something as these are not what I had purchased in the past.
I need instructions to return these as they were Christmas gifts. (fyi: a photo won't show you what I had to deal with in my washer and dryer.)

BRING BACK THE TRAIL MODEL VEST.
This is a terrible product in comparison to the Trail Model vest I have been buying for years. Whoever told you a mid seam was a good idea?
WHY, OH WHY does LL Bean keep changing favorites that have been sold for years. By all means, offer new products, but stop taking away the classics. Are you trying to lose all of your loyal, 40-year + customers?
Smh.

Having loved the previous LLBean's women's fleece vest, I was hopeful about the new design. I noted some of the negative comments of others, but the overall number of stars seemed to balance critical points. Now that I've worn this vest for a couple weeks, I am here to warn you to be aware of some serious issues. As others have previously stated, the collar is extremely stiff; to the point where it is uncomfortable & overly bulky when worn under another jacket. The new "peplum" design feature adds zero to the function of the vest; in fact, only adds an unnecessary seam, which actually makes it more bulky than Bean's earlier fleece vest for women. The current quality of the fleece is also not as good as the previous vest I purchased from Bean. Additionally, the design of the pockets is also bulky, & the cheap zippers scratch your hands as you use the pockets. I would have returned the vest immediately, but needed a fleece vest that weekend, so kept it. It's marginally OK for a single outwear vest, but otherwise a total fail. I certainly hope LLBean will bring back the earlier vest.
I don't like writing negative reviews, but this vest is a stinker. I hope to save someone the search time, eventual disappointment - and wasted expense - that I've experienced.

This wonderful vest is completely ruined for me by the ugly patch on the chest. I didn't really want a patch at all, but I expected, at least, that the patch would be embroidered and the colors vibrant. Neither is the case. The main color is gray-green and the patch is simply printed and very cheap-looking. Zoom in twice on the picture to see what it looks like up close. I wrote to Customer Service to see if the patch could be removed, but they said the stitch-marks would remain. I was hoping to wear it to work in a very chilly building, but I would be embarrassed. Other than that, I would have loved this item. I'm 5' 1", 145 pounds. The Small Petite fits great, and I like the style very much. The navy is not as blue as I wished, slightly gray, but it was close enough. I sure hope that this patch is removed for next season. I notice that all the sweater fleeces have a similar patch, so I won't be buying any more colors of those either until the patch it goes away.
