This is definitely not the same as Polartec of yester year. Anything I have worn underneath this jacket is covered with thin, short fibers from the jacket. I have the unisex sized anorak which is the same recycled fleece and it sheds the same. My suede mittens are covered with fibers.
Disappointed,

This item sheds. It left fibers on any clothing it touched. The fit was great. It was the right weight but when I would look down and see fibers on my black pants I had to return it.

I liked the material and the shape of it, but I don't like the fact that the sleeves don't have proper cuffs to keep the cold out.

This has the expected good ll bean quality. I have purchased many ll bean sweater fleece tops these past years that I still love. But this one was too snug around the hips. No, my tummy is not any bigger. I actually tried on my older ones and they still fit me nicely.

Not impressed with the more fitted design of this, nor the idea that a medium layer underneath is best. I had bought this in order to wear a thick layer underneath for warmth. Even if I had ordered a larger size, I don't think it would have worked. Sometimes you just want a roomy fleece jacket that you can layer underneath. I returned it.

I thought this would have more of a shapely fit, but it's saggy and way too wide, even in the small size (I'm typically a size 4). When zipped all the way up, the collar is really wide as well. Not flattering.

I needed a warm fleece but even in a petite size, this jacket falls far past "hip" level advertised. A size down would be tight so I am holding in to this one for home use where no one sees me since the length overwhelms my frame.

I so MUCH want to order one of these, but c'mon LLBean, the self-promo logo patch is so in your face. I don't want to be a billboard. I'll sadly have to buy my fleece jackets elsewhere until the patch isn't so blatant.

There are no inside pockets like previous jacket. Picture seems to show pockets still there,

I was a bit disappointed in the texture and the thinness of the jacket.compared to other fleece jackets I own. I am hoping it is good in the cold.

Returned this jacket. The material was stiff, and the fit was poor. Sorry, I typically like LL Bean products, but this was disappointing.

I did not like the feel of the material. It was not as soft as I expected.
Also, while I purchased the right size, it just did not have a good fit for me. I sent it back for a refund.

Great fit and lines, but on my first outing this jacket shed little pills of fleece all over my clothes, especially from under arms where fabric touched against itself. Never had that in an LL Bean fleece before. I do not know if washing will improve it.

I was disappointed with the material this was made with as it has a feel more like heavy felt than the soft fleece I have found in other fleece jackets. The cuffs also seemed like they would not withstand wear very well. I ordered black, but under certain light this seemed more like dark charcoal or even navy in parts. The only good thing I can say is that the fit was very good. But the material and color are important to me, so I will be returning this, sadly.

I bought one recently to replace an old one that reached it's end. My new one I've had roughly a year. I am disappointed with it. Will not buy another one. It runs on the large size and sheds like crazy. I've washed it a few times to try and remove the shedding but it failed. The shedding has gotten so bad I refuse to wear it now. It took multiple vacuums to remove it from my car fabric and I have decided to toss it out instead of donating it. Not recommended. L.L. Bean use to be good quality but it has changed.

As in the past few years with many Bean articles , the quality is lower and the prices have risen. This Fleece Jacket is made with lighter than previously, materials and not as warm as those that I had purchased a few years ago. The sizing is also off. I used to order M for shoulder room, but now need a Small. I haven't changed in weight I'm still 104 lbs. But, in order to accomadate the people with more weight, they have added to many items XXS to XXL, and we are now obliged to "guess" what size we are, and return if need be. That is not convenient at all.
On another note: I could do without the "Bean Logo" sewed on the chest! I don't care to be a "walking advertisement".

The zipper is sewn on the the wrong (left) side of the jacket for women. The plastic zipper is also hard to engage and then to zip up. Sleeves were a tad too long. Fleece felt thinner than my other jacket. Unfortunately, had to ship it right back.

I had to check if I really ordered a black, as it's sort of navy/greyish. Fleece could be thicker. The zipper stuck the first time I zipped it up and doesn't seem to go up all the way. I only ordered an XL because I know LL Bean women's outerwear is tight on my shoulders and I wanted to be able to layer it. Clearly not going to be a favorite. I'm going to keep it until I find something I really like and then send it to the thrift store.

I ordered this in a very light color. It was much too large on me, but I thought I could still wear it over heavy sweaters. I wore it for the first time over all-black clothes, and when I took it off, I was covered in what looked like snow and some light threads. The jacket is not a natural material and that made me reluctant to just dust it off.

Love the color, the fit & the style of this jacket. Very comfortable & stylish. It fit me the best of any of the fleeces you are selling this season. However, only gave it 2 stars because of the horrible shedding. I purchased the Silver Moon color & had white fuzz all over my shirts & would even be on my jeans. Also had white fuzz all over my seatbelt in my car. I bought other Bean fleece jackets in the past & have never had this issue with them. I saw that in another review you commented that this is natural with fleece & would stop shedding after washing. Well, I have washed it eight times & it is still shedding but not quite as much. And, now the jackets looks a little beat out! Maybe recycled polyester in not the best material to make fleece jackets out of! I will not purchase any more recycled polyester that you may make in the future.

Although I find this a very comfortable jacket- And I love the color hunter green-
The quality is very poor. The material feels more like a piece of felt than a fleece jacket.
And I had green pills all over my car seat when I got up from driving.
I do not think L.L. Bean has the best quality products anymore especially for the amount of money they are charging.
I used to be a real LL Bean fan. But the prices of the clothing without the quality to back it up has discouraged me from buying your product anymore. And I would willingly pay good money for a well-made product.

I loved this when I first got it. I wrote a great review about the great fit and style. After time the fleece is covered in fuzzy balls.

I've had mine for several months now & it is starting to pill. I suspected this would be an issue since this fleece (& many others from this company) feel very different than the fleece in years past. I'm very disappointed in the fabric & won't order fleece from this company again until the quality of the fleece improves as it was in years past. I wonder if the reason it feels weird is because it's made of recycled plastic bottles. I don't want to sound unkind, but I don't care that they found more uses for recycled plastic bottles, I want quality fabric, workmanship & performance. This is not worth the price in my opinion. It has a short lifespan unless you don't mind pilling. I will buy fleece elsewhere.

very disappointed. Fabric is poor quality, pilling all over which makes it look used, old and dirty very quickly. Not LL Bean quality. My husband bought the similar fleece years ago and it looks better than my new jacket.I love fleece, but would not purchase this product again.
