This fleece I bought because I had bought the same a few years ago, but it is not the same because it is definitely lighter in fabric and I feel the older one I have is a bit better quality than the new one. It is really a noticeable difference. I guess they are skimping on the materials to save money. Also don't like the logo on the front they really should do away with that.

My husband and I have purchased many LLBean products through the years: clothing and many other items etc..., specially the classic fleece jackets.
But I was dissappointed this time because the black color is not really black (as our old fleece jackets)
It's like a very dark gray compared to the old black they manufactured!!!
I don't know why the black is so faded!!!
See photo : New jacket over the old jacket
A big difference!!
Need it for a trip so I will not return because of time constrain but I hope they bring back the true black color!!!
I'm really upset about the poor quality of the color.
Also, the LL Bean tag in front is not my favorite
I don't like to wear a clothing item advertising the company- it could be embroidered and smaller!! It's too big and overshadows the other garments I wear with it

However, the sleeves on the "medium" I have always bought went to my fingertips and jacket was very snug.....tried to get the petite large to replace it and they were sold out. Went to my local Evergreen store and they didn't even have a single jacket of any kind....very disappointed and returned both jackets.

I've worn your plain fleece jackets for years. This new style is cut too narrow at the waist. Very disappointed.

I bought this because my previous style was discontinued. I would not recommend it, the jacket pills too much. Had I read previous reviews prior to purchasing I would not have ordered it.

I always have 6 or 8 Polartec-like jackets like this in my closet, many from LL Bean, and I typically wear one or another daily for most of the year, for many years. However, then I bought two of these (a second one as soon as I got the first one). But within three weeks, both started pilling, something all my other Polartec or Polartec-like jackets never did even after 5-10 years. So they look old, beat-up, and unattractive. I am thinking about sending them back.
It's too bad, too, because they are very soft and otherwise pleasant to wear.

Unfortunately the garment pills.
Today was the first time I wore it. Noticed that mariner blue pills were shedding .

I purchased this for a recent trip. Terrific styling. Comfortable fit. My complaint is that the material has already pilled. It's been washed twice and I am disappointed. If it looked like this after a year's wear, I would have been fine with it, but not too happy about it happening immediately. I will probably see about returning it.

I had a wonderful LL Bean fleece from many years ago that I managed to leave in an airport a year ago. I wanted to replace it, because I loved the black fleece I had. It went with everything, was solid black, so I could wear it teaching when classrooms were chilly -- not too sporty. This one is kind of dark gray, not a true black. The zippers are much more casual, and not appropriate for even casual professional wear. Please get rid of the LL Bean logo patch on the jacket -- also makes it less versatile. The other major flaw for me is that the zipper on my old jacket was a two way zipper -- it could be zipped from the bottom or the top. I hope LL Bean brings back the two way zippers!

I love wearing this jacket so much I've barely taken it off since it arrived a week ago. Unfortunately, it's pilling. I bought two. Black and blue. The black is more of a charcoal. The blue is delightful. But the pilling is an issue.

I get fleece" lint" on my blouses from the inside of the jacket. I have't washed it yet.

The specs on this jacket sounded great and the quality was fine. I ordered 2 and had high hopes. However some LL Bean garments are a terrible fit for me. They are narrow in the shoulder and much too wide at the hip. The jackets were unflattering and uncomfortable and had to return. Wish they had fit better.

I'm undecided if I'm keeping this jacket. The main problem is it's too long both in body and arms. The chest sizing is ample. The jacket doesn't seem very warm but i haven't tested that fully. I like the feel of the fleece but the length may cause me to return it.

This is not quite the same quality as other fleece jackets I've purchased. It is not Polartec brand fleece and feels thinner. Also, really dislike the commercial appearance of LL Bean label. I will see if I can cut this off.

This jacket appears to be warm and nicely made. It fits in the shoulders but flares out and is far too wide in the hip area. Not the first time I've had this problem with LL Bean jackets. I am 5'5", weigh 117 pounds, 35" bust, 36" hips.

Like the jacket and the color - purple - however, what is with the ultra tight hem on the jacket? I have it extended to the extreme and it is too way tight - who would want a jacket so tight at the hem line? What's the purpose? I've been tempted to simply cut this elastic out! I'd return it but the colors this season are really depressing. Winter is a time for uplifting colors instead of muddy/dreary colors. Not happy with this jacket for that reason only - otherwise the color is awesome, the fit elsewhere is perfect.

This jacket is not for those of us with a short neck. As the photos indicate, the collar is not designed to lay flat.
When zipped, the turtleneck is too high; when unzipped, the edges of the collar poke the sides of my neck.
I'm sorry that it has been returned. I will need to stick to the fleece fabrics that are more pliable.

Got this for my daughter. This is a great fleece but runs small. Had to exchange for the next size up. Have been surprised with Bean over the past year or so with sizes and shrinkage. Not like the old Bean.

I bought several years ago. I haven't worn it long enough to even wash it and it is too shabby to wear any place so it sits in my closet until I get around to taking to goodwill....cute though and fits well!

The fit and color are great, but the fleece tends to shed and stick to other clothes. You'll definitely need a lint remover on hand, which can be inconvenient and a bit embarrassing since the lint gets everywhere each time you wear the jacket.

I waited so long to purchase this red fleece as it has always been sold out in my size. Unfortunately, the color is a much darker maroon. It is still nice, but not really what I wanted. I'm debating on returning this or not. Very disappointed in L.L. Bean for not being truthful with their product.

Runs small, I have been wearing my old LL Bean fleece, same size, but cut a little fuller.

I am very disappointed in this jacket. After a few wears the arms started pilling and when I washed it, the whole jacket pilled all over. I can't wear the jacket anymore. I have never had any issues with anything from LL Bean until this jacket.

this is a really flattering and warm fleece jacket, and the rosewood color is so pretty. unfortunately, after wearing it once, i washed it, and there was fuzz everywhere, so i returned it. i so wish bean would go back to using polartec - i bought several in the olden days, and they never gave me a problem, and frankly looked much richer, as well. so, the style is perfect, but the material, no.
