NIce color but couldn't shorten sleeves easily, and fit wasn't quite right

This coat is a good weight, but I haven't worn it in the rain yet to see how waterproof it is. I like the fit, but the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of five is that the collar part on the left side won't stay down when it isn't zipped all the way up. It feels like it's in the way.

So far I'm very happy with this jacket. It's comfortable and surprisingly warm for such a light weight jacket. I would say that it's too warm for temperatures above 50 degrees and I would wear a thick sweater under it in temperatures below 30. I wore it during a torrential rainstorm yesterday and it kept me totally dry. The fit is a bit snug on top so you might need to size up if you are big chested. I wish it had more pockets. I hope the fabric holds up over time.

Lovely coat but to small. Bought an xl but felt more like a large, was snug so returned. Beautiful color and fabric. Usually an xl fits well enough for another layer underneath, but not this coat, ran small

The winter chill in my area of Washington State is more a damp chill than a dry cold, so this coat has been wonderful! It's lightweight, yet quite warm over a nice base layer or sweater. The storage pocket is excellent and more than large enough to hold the entire coat easily. I'm so thankful for LLBean's excellence in its construction.

Lightweight but still warm. Nice length and even though it doesn't have a double zipper (which honestly it should have) I can still comfortably sit in it. I like the zip pits and the 2 zippers in the back hem which allow for easy movement (scrambling up rocks when hiking). Love the fleece cuffs and the fleece around the neckline.

I bought this three years ago in rose and it served me well on a trip to finland in May where I had to deal with variations in cold in May/June. would not be warm enough for temperatures in the 30s if you are out for a long time without a substantial mid layer, but it's roomy for a small. overall it's ideal as a colder season travel jacket, except for the fact that the zipper is not a two way which greatly limits it's versatility when you want to for example where a belt pack underneath and have access to it while keeping your chest warm. I love the huge inner pocket which actually allows me to fit my Crossbody bag when I am boarding a plane. I would buy another one in black for winter trips to European cities if it would have it two way zipper. I agree that the hood could be made more comfortable around the neck, but like the hood enough

I had high hopes for this almost perfect jacket. It has amazing snug cuffs that are lined with soft material, it's a great length, and is very warm while being light. The problems I couldn't get past were a one-way zipper (this was in other reviews but I didn't think it would be the issue that it is) and a hood that has very stiff front edges. Put a two-way zipper in and make the collar separate from the hood so it could be flat and away from your face when the hood is off, and it would be the perfect jacket.
I recommend it if you those two issues wouldn't be a deal breaker for you.

I normally take an xs in llbean jackets and tops. This one was way too big for me. Quality of coat is very good. I love the hood's brim. It has support so it doesn't flop down on your forehead.

I like everything about this coat except it doesn't have a two way zipper. Otherwise it would get 5 stars for being lightweight but warm, wind and waterproof. Wore it in the Arctic in March and it kept me warm even on the deck of a ship at night.

I have a love hate relationship with this jacket
This jacket has so many great features, some you don't even notice at first. The jacket has pit zips so if you are overheating, you can uzip to cool off without compromising wind or rain resistance. The wrist cuffs form a nice seal to keep drafts out. I like that velcro is not used anywhere. The jacket is wind resistant and really stops wind from cutting through on a 40-60 mph gusty day.
However, it is not at all warm. I am cold when I wear this jacket and I am usually too hot in a jacket. That is saying a lot. I don't need a lot of insulation to stay warm in the winter and this coat does not keep me warm.
Also, since it is an attractive form fit, it is hard to wear layers without looking like Ralphie from "A Christmas Story")
The fabric is good a resisting wind and rain but it has a strong tendency to pill. This is very irritating in a $250 jacket. The fabric should be more durable.
I wish the zipper came up from the bottom but the zippers in the back help with that (Hint, I'd prefer the 2 way zipper over the 2 butt zippers)
I love the color (I ordered teal) and the cut is flattering even though it doesn't look great once you layer it to stay warm.
I've thought often about returning this coat but there isn't anything this attractive.
I'd recommend this jacket with reservations. It is good at blocking wind and looks good doing it, but if you are not moving around, you better layer up and order a size bigger otherwise you're going to freeze

I had a very similar jacket from years ago and I'm glad I found this one. Not exactly the same but close enough to know I'll love it for years! Only negative which is bearable is how hard it is to turn it into the pouch that's built in

Nice Jacket, but not very warm. I guess it's meant to be worn when skiing, running, etc.

Love the fabric, weight, warmth and cuffs. I know it has back vent zippers, but wish it had a two-way front zip. Otherwise, it's great!

This is a lovely jacket. I'm 5'6, wear a 16, have a bigger stomach, but have a smaller bust. This was too fitted, with too much empty material at the top, but waist just fitting. Had it been less fitted, I would have kept it. It doesn't weigh much, which was exactly what I wanted. And, it covered my rear nicely. So it was returned.

There aren't many packable coats with insulation that are waterproof. LL Bean comes through again

This jacket packs really well and is amazingly warm for as light weight as it is. However, I really hate the pure white logo on the blue jacket. It really stands out and cheapens the look of the jacket

I like this jacket a lot. It's comfortable and It does what it says it will do. It's an effective wind break. It keeps you you a little bit warm but not too toasty. I haven't worn it in the rain yet, but I'm pretty sure it will pass muster on water repellency. It does all this while being an attractive jacket with a nice overall outline. I got it in the blue, which is very pretty. I love the light weight. I got this jacket to replace something that weighs over 3 pounds to deliver the same things.
I like that it doesn't have Velcro front closures, I'm tired of Velcro snagging my clothes. There's a little bit at the wrist, but it doesn't cause me any problems
I think there could be a couple of improvements. It needs a little bit more room in the bust. It's hard for me to wear my sweater jacket underneath this one because it's too tight in the bust. I wish there was a split away zipper that opens from the bottom so that it's easier to drive in

This jacket was great for a trip in Ireland. I wore it daily for wind, for rain, for cold and I wasn't overheated when it was warmer. Light weight and hooded - worth the price. I'll continue to use it at home

When I received this jacket, I eagerly tried it on. Zipped it up. Looked at me in the mirror. Walked around. Perfect, I thought. Then I realized there was no outer phone pocket. When I checked inside, no smaller inner zip pockets either (for small wallet or glasses), other than the extra large "stow" pocket and the open mesh "stash" pocket. I had failed to check pockets before I ordered it. Hence the 4 star instead of 5 star rating. I thought everything had an outer phone pocket these days; I will have to check more closely next time. I'm returning this jacket with the hopes of finding all the features I liked on this one (like the double rear zippers) along with a few more pockets on another jacket. Although I did not wear this outside or in cold weather (only tried it on indoors), I think the warmth rating (warm) is correct. I bought this for running errands/short walks/traveling in 40-55 degree wet weather - my "grab and walk out the door" jacket all winter in western Oregon.

I purchased this jacket for spring skiing and traveling during cool months. A size small fits perfectly, with a little room to spare (I'm 5'3", 130 lbs) for layering. I love that this jacket is light weight and provides just the right warmth for western temps between 30-50 degrees. It falls a bit short for skiing, however, because it lacks the typical outside pockets in the sleeve and chest area. It could also have one more internal pocket. I manage on the slopes, though, and overall, I love it! LLBean has become my go to source for outerwear.

Nice, attractive jacket. Fits great, repels water, lots of pockets and packs easily. Be aware that the special lining (which is incredibly light and thin) makes it too warm for hiking in temps over 50 degrees. Also despite having a normal length neck the zipper tends to irritate my jawline when not fully zipped. I have to fold it over.

This is a very nice jacket that is well made. It is definitely waterproof which is good. It is good for Spring, Fall, and mild winter days, but not warm enough for our coldest winter days in Wisconsin. For milder winter days I layer with a fleece or down underneath. It looks great, love the color, and the look. It is light weight and easy for packing for trips. Love the pit zips for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. It would be nice to have a little more room at the arm pit, chest, and waist for layering.
