I wanted a warm coat that was also water proof and this was it. I like that it is a bit longer than a jacket (on me) but not full length. I also like the soft fabric around the sleeve enclosure that keeps the wind from going up your sleeve. If I were to get too warm I can unzip the zippers under the armpits! I have never seen that and will be curious if I ever exert myself enough to have to let out the heat. Very cozy and I like the blue color.

I liked this jacket because it is very comfortable on me. It moves naturally with me. It is not stiff and does not crinkle audibly when I move. I usually hate hoods, but the hood actually felt comfortable and even when not wearing the hood up, it falls on my shoulders without being uncomfortable. Note the hood is not removable. The jacket fits just loose enough to fit a fleece underneath for extra warmth. I haven't actually tried it in the rain, so I cannot attest to its waterproof qualities. The sleeves are long.

Was unsure when I first received it, mistakenly thought it was down, not poly fiber fill. However, have worn it to outdoor sporting events and it is very warm and comfortable. The material is soft and is my go to jacket now. Not too warm for errand day.

As fall started shifting towards the colder side here in MA, I was looking for a jacket that was a little warmer than my spring/summer windbreaker but not quite as heavy as my big winter parka. I've only had this jacket for about a month now, but it's fitting those needs perfectly - it provides a good amount of warmth and protection from rain, but is still nice and light. I was a little hesitant to shell out so much money for a jacket (admittedly, I'm a bit of a saver vs. spender), but I'm glad I did, as I forsee this lasting me a long time. On sizing: I tried on an XSS and an XS in store and wasn't quite happy with the fit, so took a chance and ordered an XS Petite online - fits like a glove.

Overall, it is an outdoor jacket with technical functionality that I'm happy to wear around the city because it doesn't *look* like something only for hiking. Purchased in anticipation of a trip to two locations with climates varying from 60 to 20. It's been great for chilly and rainy days, particularly if I'm walking around. The pit zips have been useful to help regulate temp. The waterproof fabric works well and is surprisingly soft. I wish the front had a 2-way zipper, but there are two zips on the back side that allow for more movement. The best part are the pockets - the ones on the outside are HUGE (seriously, I was able to put a water bottle in there), and the multiple pockets inside are also very handy. It's roomy, which will be useful when layering for colder temps.

Purchased the packaway coat a few weeks ago in blue--size Large Petite. Love all the features of this coat---hood, pockets and length. Decided to exchange for Petite Extra Large in Black. The extra large leaves more room for layering. The Large fit fine---but with little room to spare. I purchased this coat for an upcoming trip and I like to pack lightly. I will also layer with sweater fleece or down sweater----making this packaway coat very versatile! Excellent choice for warmth and rain!!

I am 5 ft and 108 lbs. The extra small fits great with room for a bulky sweater. Sleeve length is great for my petite fit. It covers the buttock area completely. I purchased this coat for a trip to Europe. It is a rain coat as well as keeping you warm in temps in the upper 30's if you are moving. I like the hood because it extends beyond your face like a visor so when it does rain it provides you with more protection. It is easy to pack in its own fold up pouch. I am very happy with this and would highly recommend to others especially if you are traveling. I purchased black because it goes with everything.

the size xsp is a perfect fit. I like that it is very light and packable, I can cinch in the waist, & that there are inside pockets. I also like that it is long enough to fall below my hips. I will be using it for my fall trip where it will be cold and rainy. I have not worn it yet so I can't vouch for how warm it will be. However, I am used to rainy & cold conditions so I will make sure to layer up with one of my merino wool base sweaters. I like the very pretty marine blue color. I think it is overpriced but got it on promo sale & I like it a lot so I am happy with my purchase!

I needed a warm, water-proof jacket for a trip to Iceland. This jacket proved to be perfect. We encountered rain, snow, sleet, and lots of wind. I stayed warm, and most importantly dry, day in and day out. I wore layers, but this jacket was the best. Highly recommend.

I absolutely LOVE this jacket! It's exactly what I was looking for -- a lightweight jacket that was actually WARM and could also be worn as a raincoat. I tested it out for the first time on a very cold and blustery day (30 mph winds) in St. Louis. And it stood up to the test. The jacket was extremely warm and no wind came through at all. I have tried other supposedly warm and lightweight (down) jackets in the past and they did not measure up and had to be returned. I really like the knit cuffs on the sleeves that keep out the cold air. The jacket is easy-on and easy-off with a nice smooth lining. I like the adjustable waist ties. My only suggestion would be to have a two-way zipper that could be adjusted at the bottom when driving, etc. But all-in-all, I am so happy I made this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a WARM, lightweight jacket! One more thing: This jacket will actually replace two other jackets I own: a fairly heavy winter parka and a medium weight jacket with a faux fur lining whose water repellency has worn off. Thanks, LLB, for a great winter jacket that really measures up!

Love my Primaloft Packaway Jacket! So I have worn it through two snowstorms, rainy April weather, sunny spring days, and my son's windy soccer games. At each of those events, the Primaloft Jacket provides so much comfort, protection, and enough pocket space to carry my bulky wallet, phone, and earbuds. I plan to wear it, until summer, and then again in the fall. I love it!

This is a phenomenal jacket. I shopped around at competitors and this is by far the best jacket in this category. Absolutely love it. 10 stars out of 5!

This is a perfect jacket. It's warm, waterproof, light, flattering and after having it just two weeks I can't imagine living without it! Very flattering fit, and great pockets/material. Perfect for Maine 'spring' weather and I can see using it on chillier summer days on the water. Great job!

I spend lots of time as a field guide on a nearby wetlands preserve. The weather here in northern Indiana can be really cold and windy in the winter. This coat is the best I have ever had for keeping warm over an extended period of time. The Misses Large fits my 5'9", 165 pound frame perfectly. I usually wear a silk and a wool layer underneath. The jacket is also perfectly rainproof. The large inside pocket is great for storing gloves and the small, inside in-seam pocket is great for my cell phone or car keys. I have recommended this coat to all of my friends!

I purchased this jacket for my upcoming trip to England. One of the things I like about this jacket is that it doesn't look like a raincoat. I will be able to wear it on the entire trip whether it rains or not. With a sweatshirt or sweater underneath, the jacket is warm. I have worn it walking my dog and it keeps me quite comfortable. I purchased the Blue color in Petite S. I am 5 ft. 3 and it fits perfectly. The hood is adjustable to make it a tighter fit. The only negative I have to say about it is the price. It is pricey. The jacket is very nice and I expect to wear it for a long time, but I delayed purchasing it because of the price.

I am one of those people who does not wear a coat in the winter because I do not like being bundled. I saw this jacket while I was on line and thought it looked light and warm at the same time but I will say it was a bit over my price range. While I was vacationing in Aruba I saw a sale and thought "Let me try it" It was the BEST decision I made. This jacket it warm and so light. I never feel all bundled up. I wore it in the snow and rain and the water just rolls off. I purchased the blue and the color is just great. I would give it 10 stars if they let me! Perfect jacket. I am saving my pennies to get another in a different color! You will NOT be disappointed!

I love my new jacket! It's soft, light-weight but warm, a perfect length, waterproof, the hood adjusts to stay comfortably in place without blocking my peripheral vision, the pockets are convenient, AND it looks great on. Really, there is nothing that I dislike about it. One reviewer mentioned that there was no drawcord in the hem as stated in the description, and I almost didn't order the jacket because of this. While it's true that you cannot tighten the hem, the sweep is perfect as is for me, even with my slight frame. (I'm 5'8", 120 lbs, and have somewhat broad shoulders. The misses small fits me perfectly--even the sleeves are long enough for my longish arms.)

I got this in petite, so the arm length was right. Also, I took a risk and got the red/current color so I could be seen in darker conditions but not having a bright orange. The jacket is perfect. I have had many compliments.

I just received this waterproof primaloft jacket in a deep marine blue and I love it. I am 5'6" and weigh 125#. I ordered a medium. It is a loose fit but that is what I wanted. I know that I can comfortably wear anything underneath. This is the jacket I have been looking for! It is attractive, soft, lightweight but warm but not hot. It is breathable and waterproof with a good functional hood. I live in Oregon where it rains a lot in the winter but it is not terribly cold. I have an un-insulated rain shell but I am tired of layering all of the time. Thank you, LL Bean!

Beautiful blue color, fit is awesome for slender gal (med for 5'6", 135 lbs), sleeves are wonderfully long enough, body is trim, yet enough room to move. The P Gold insulation is top notch and the outer fabric so soft and quiet. Like the drawstring at waist and sleeve cuffs. WOW, am really liking this! Thank you, thank you LL Bean.

Very pleased with this purchase! I don't understand some of the ties within the hood & the Red Currant color is a bit toward blaze orange, but offers excellent visibility. Medium size is accurate. Length similar to former parka-style sizing. It is waterproof, not just water resistant! And washable! Nice to have a winter jacket that isn't "puffy," so is great for travel.

The jacket arrived earlier than expected, fits perfectly and I love it. It feels like it weighs nothing yet has warmth and will be wonderful for traveling and at home. And, I love the blue color - which will go with everything.

I have been wanting a good rain jacket, and that is why I bought this despite the price tag. It is not labeled as a rain jacket, but I wore it today in heavy rain and temps in the 40s and was quite warm (with just a cotton turtleneck underneath) and stayed dry after 1/2 hour walk. The description is a little off in a couple of areas; there is just one chest pocket (it is inside), and a second internal pocket on the right side that is lower. I don't see a media pocket at all. The two external hand pockets have zippers, which is nice for securing things. Also, there is not a drawcord hem, but there is an internal drawcord at waist level. The length is great. I'm 5'8" and the coat comes almost to my fingertips when standing straight. For me this is the perfect length for a raincoat. If I could change one thing, I would add a gusset to cover the zipper. However, the zipper seems very well sealed and as I said the coat is waterproof. The blue color is lovely; it's nice getting away from standard navy.

I loved this jacket. But had to return it as it was a little too snug in the hips. BUT it is beautiful!
