Looked forward to getting this in the camp green, but when it came I discovered the sleeves were noticeably too long!! I had gotten this jacket in black last year, and the sleeve length was fine. I tried to make green jacket work by cuffing sleeves but it did not look good. I have sent this jacket back right away.

I love my PrimaLoft jacket that I purchased a few years back and was hoping for the same this go round.
Newer one a tad longer in length and arms as well as not having a nice lining cover on the inside. These things matter and I WISH LLBEAN WOULD STOP CHANGING ITEMS! Ask the customer before you change features!!! Attaching photos of older version with "diamond" stitching compared to new version with rectangular stitching...it matters as I know this new model's stitching will catch more on things like keys or zippers as I have a similar jacket from another company.

I like the color and shorter length. I'd prefer a cut that allows layering. I use this jacket for dog walking. Even for travel, layers are practical, allowing for variable weather. (For travel, your own inner layer would come in handy for cool evenings, air conditioning. And that inner layer together with the jacket would be more comfortable waiting for the airport ride.)

I love this jacket for use when I'm active and would prefer not to overheat or carry the weight of a heavier coat. I have found for maximum warmth, you do need to wear the hood, zip the pockets closed, and cinch the bottom. I've found the jacket to be the perfect weight for shoveling snow, hiking, and doing light outdoor chores. I'm looking forward to bringing it along on trips. I was, however, very disappointed in the cut of the jacket. I have broad shoulders and a "straight up and down" body shape. In my normal size large, the fit was like a straight-jacket in that I could not possibly move my arms. Not even a long-sleeved tee would fit beneath. All the room in the fit is at the hips, so if you have narrow shoulders and wider hips, you might have no problem. I did return the first jacket and sized up one size, which was fine, even if a little loose around the waist and hips. I would still recommend this jacket in spite of the fit problems because it fills a definite niche for lightweight, waterproof warmth.

If I had seen the jacket in the store at its selling price I would not have bought it. I like the jacket. It's not bulky, is a nice fit but for me it is not a cold weather jacket. I would wear this jacket in 40 degree weather with a sweatshirt underneath. If someone runs warm it maybe the perfect jacket for the temperatures it's designated for.

sleeves were too long and I would have liked knitted cuffs instead of the binding. The color was bright and lively - just what I wanted. The body was light weight and a little large for me. I wondered if it would be warm enough. I was sorry to return it.

Got this for wife as a Christmas present. It's her first LL Bean coat. She loves it.

I have bought all my outerwear from LL Bean for many years due to the excellent quality of their products. When I went vegan I was delighted to find that LL Bean offers parkas in primaloft fabric. While this Packaway Parka does not quite deliver the space age technology warmth it advertises, I appreciate the lightness of the design. I have as a backup for the severe winter days my LL Bean Rugged Ridge Parka.
I hope LL Bean never stops making their superior winter products.

The color, the fit, the length of the coat and sleeves and the added hooded were great. But it is a Spring coat, like a windbreaker. I am so disappointed because I struggle to find coats that fit. I can't justify paying $165.00 for a coat that can only be worn in maybe the Spring and Fall. In addition, you can purchase the next "warmer" coat of this design PF503398 for $20.00 less. But the coat has no hood (the reduction in price I assume). However, I am noticing in the reviews the same comments that it isn't warm enough. LL Bean you are in New England did anyone on-site actually put these coats on and go walk by the ocean on a cold day. The pricing of these coats is really out of alignment. It is a sad day.

Plus size winter coats are hard to come by. Was able to zip it up and the coat not ride up arm length was perfect. I tend to be bigger in the hips so this was a good fit.Thank you L.L. Bean. Especially for the active outdoors versus a big parka. I was skeptical when I pulled this coat out of the package. The loft was pretty flat extremely lightweight. But that could be the NASA influence. I've learned outside and 10 - 30 weather here in Alaska. With a light layer underneath colder temps was a little chilled Only downside, but my body heat Warmed me up. The attached pictures are being outside for 2 hours snowblowing in windy conditions. Exterior layer absorbed the moisture some areas it beaded it off. Interior was completely dry. I was wearing a Wool layer underneath which was damp. Quite impressed that my body moisture didn't transfer to the inside of the coat or the moisture on the exterior didn't absorb to the inside. Only questioned if I continue to stay outside would it dry? Otherwise aQuality LLBean coat!

I purchased this jacket with the expectation that it would be a non-bulky, travel easy wind shell. I did not expect it to keep me warm in the dead of Wisconsin winters. I like the material. It does not stick to my clothing, and dog hair is a non-issue - which is big for me, because I have 3 fur pals. I also purchased the longer coat version, and layer them when it is cold-cold. I know it is a lot to spend, having to purchase 2 versions of this coat, but I find the 2 layers keep me plenty warm without having to resort to big bulky outerwear. I also went up a size for more room. I avoid down for my own personal reasons, so this combo works for me.

Love the color and how light weight the jacket is yet you stay warm. I just wished that once it was zipped that you also had a zipper on the bottom to zip up a bit because when I sit it is too snug which is a bit uncomfortable. I had tried on the large but it was too big. I seem to always need a medium and a half!

I really like the fit of this jacket, roomy enough for a layer underneath, fitted enough to look sporty, but not too tight. The pockets are nice and roomy, and because it is not bulky, perfect for doing errands by car. My only complaint is...not very warm. I don't know how they figured the temp rating, but to my mind, it would not be comfortable below mid 20's F.
Easy enough to slip a down vest on top, and it might be warm enough for active sports, but for a winter walk, not so much.

I like the jacket very much, but it's not as warm as I expected it to be. I thought it would be as warm as a lightweight down jacket, the way it was described. Also, a two way zipper would've been nice. I've worn a sweater under it, but not a fleece yet.

My 21 year old daughter is tiny and it is always a problem to buy clothes for her. This one was XXS and petite, but still too large for her, especially sleeves - too wide and too long. We were sorry to return the jacket as we liked it very much. My advice - if your height is 5', it is not for you.

Incredibly lightweight! Like the look and feel of this jacket, and the fit is fine. I am always pleased when an item is offered in petite sizes. Can't comment on the warmth as it hasn't been cool enough here to wear it yet. As one reviewer wrote, the hood would be better if it had a means of adjusting it - the one-size-fits-all elastic means it is too big for my head. However, it could come in handy on a rainy day for a short trip from car into grocery store. The zip pockets are deep enough to hold keys and the breast pocket could hold a cell phone nicely.
One thing I wish regarding sizing: most women - especially as we age - are a little larger in the hips than we'd like to be. Even tho I don't weigh that much this applies to me, too. An extra inch through the hips would be most welcome no matter what size you are ordering.

After 6 years, I needed to replace my primaloft jacket with a rip and a bit snug when an extra layer needed. This jacket can be worn for a slight chill or with an extra layer in 30 degree weather. This jacket which is petite extra large has sleeves longer than necessary but wearable. Great jacket!

I loved this jacket...it was just a little snug for me. It seemed to be cut for a smaller person. I always buy XL but this XL was too tight.

Sizing was a little off on this LL Bean jacket. I normally am a petite large but ended up exchanging for a petite medium. Love the lightweight feel and color. I love that it has a design inside the jacket and hood. Can't wait to try this in colder weather.

I get all my coats from LLBean. I bought this earlier this year for myself and one for my husband because we needed something portable for travel. In that respect it is 100% fabulous! It is lightweight and the carrying pouch is built into the coat. It packs down easily and is small enough for carry on. I wore it in Tahoe (very cold but no snow) and Las Vegas (downpour). Definitely must wear layers underneath as it is not warm enough on its own. The hood is not just part of the collar, it is the collar, and to get the best weather and wind protection you need to wear the hood to protect your neck and keep in the heat. I found this annoying as there were many sunny days that I didn't want to wear the hood but had to, to keep the wind out. The hood is not adjustable but fit pretty well. The coat kept me completely dry in the downpour that soaked my shoes and socks. I ordered the large to fit over the chest and give me room to add clothes; the sizing was right. I gave it 4 stars as I wish the zipper went both ways and I believe it is overpriced; but it is packable and that's what I needed.

Love this jacket. One issue is there are no inner pockets, and I am surprised at that....they are so useful and this type of jacket usually has at least one. Color is lovely. I can't say that it has been tested for super cold weather as I live in the Atlanta area and we thankfully don't get real frigid here. But so are it has kept me warm.

This jacket is soft, comfortable, and packable but it isn't very warm at temperatures below freezing. You must wear moderate to heavy underclothing to stay warm, especially if there is any wind. I bought it to wear on a trip to Alaska, but do not know if it will be sufficient. The catalog states it should be warm down to -15'F.

I loved everything about this coat. It was light weight. roomy, The pockets worked well. An inner pocket and 3 outer pockets. And I loved the kelp green color. I do wish it had a 2 way zipper.
I'm 5'1. 132lbs, size petite medium fit the way I like it.
In high 40's it was not warm.

I first got the regular medium, then exchanged it for the petite medium. As advertised, the length is the only difference, so the petite fits beautifully and looks great. I do wish the jacket were a little warmer. I have to wear a lot of layers to get the warmth of my former light-weight down jacket. However, it's great for when the weather is above freezing.
