The jacket is outstanding. Bought it for an overseas trip and it either rained or snowed every day. It kept me totally dry and it was comfortable to wear. Totally adjustable and breathable it was a godsend to have

Great shell for skiing. Large fit well (6ft 2 in, 195lbs) with layers underneath. Hood fit over ski helmet.

Met expectations. Like a lot of Gore-Tex it is stiff. Certainly well designed and repels water well.

It seems that the "shell" jacket has become somewhat of a dodo bird. I was recently XC skiing with friends and realized that while I had a puffer and several layers I didn't really have a good shell for the wet snow we were getting at the lower elevations. Looking around online I found plenty of rain jackets or waterproof ski jackets but finding a jacket that was big enough to put over multiple layers including a puffy coat but also not so big/bulky as to be inhibiting movement was more difficult than I remember. I was lucky enough to score this with a coupon so I didn't mind paying the price for a real Gore-tex membrane jacket. Happy with the orange color so they can find me from the air if needed.

So I actually use this as my winter running jacket as it's wind and rain proof. The underarms zip open in case I get too warm which is an absolute necessity. Now I know there are running specific coats but, I'm not a running snob, and these seem to work just fine for me. Love it and highly recommend it

I love this thing. I got it four months ago (November) after looking at quite a few different options and then buying a few online to try them on. This was the closest to what I was looking for (not so stiff 3-layer gore tex jacket that wasn't too baggy) and since then it's been a very wet and cold winter. I've gone on walks for more than an hour in it and stayed completely dry. I've taken half-hour walks in 0*F weather with layers and stayed warm without any wind getting in. It's been comfortable on multi-hour bike rides as well with good give in the sleeves and having the pit zips to ventilate if you start to overheat.
One feature I've particularly appreciated is the fact that the pockets are made of the same material as the jacket (as opposed to the mesh I've had on previous jackets). This means I can use the pockets when it's cold without letting heat out or wind in.
Overall would highly recommend since, in addition to the previous points, it costs less than many, if not most, other jackets with similar features.

Nice jacket but my husband is portly and this jacket is slender. I ordered his regular size but it was too tight through the stomach area. I returned it but couldn't replace it because the stock for the next size is depleted.

Awesome jacket! Exactly what I wanted out of a Gore-Tex product. Thicker that most I've tried on in stores. Couldn't be happier...
LL Bean does it right!

Great shell. Keeps the rain out and you are not clammy from your own sweat. True to size.

Sheds rain and wind. If cold out, then wear a warm garment underneath. It's well made for long term use.

There is no substitute for Gore-Tex. You can easily spend $200 more for a Gore-Tex shell like this. Really great price, really great jacket. Totally waterproof and wind proof, but it lets water Vapor out - they aren't kidding, it's amazing how Gore-Tex works.

Great jacket at purchase. I was looking for a new waterproof breathable jacket. The last waterproof non Gore-Tex jacket I purchased does not stand up to the task with even a steady light shower. This Bean jacket seems high quality all around. I compared it to several other popular brand name Gore-Tex jackets of similar price and this Bean jacket, in my opinion, is the best in this price range hands down. Unfortunately Mens Medium is too big for me so I returned it. I am 6'2' 165 so kind if a difficult size. I was disappointed it did not fit but would highly recommend this jacket if you are looking for a sturdy Gore Tex jacket that is not astronomically priced

If you don't own a Gore-Tex jacket, this is a fantastic place to start. Totally wind and water proof, but somehow it creates so water vapour escapes easily. Armpit zippers are nice to vent heat if needed. For a Gore-Tex shell, this price is amazing. I would put this up against a much more expensive Arc'teryx anyday. Same quality, but much more affordable. Great for skiing.

So far it's great. Expensive but so much better that cheaper rain jackets I've been buying. Durable, breathable, and I stay dry even in hard down pours.

Features, workmanship and materials are all top-notch. I ordered an extra-large tall even though I would have fit a large regular because I wanted the extra room and length - not concerned about a trim fit. This larger size is working well, especially when sitting in a stadium with driving rain or in very cold weather when I can wear a thick down jacket as an insulating layer. Researched many options before deciding on this L.L. Bean jacket which kept on coming out on top versus competition. Solid value. Would buy this Pathfinder jacket again, but this one will probably last many, many years.

Great looking waterproof jacket. Fairly trim fit so we purchased a large instead of medium to be able to wear a fleece layer underneath.Functions well for fishing and boating but attractive enough for around town wear.
