I purchased this jacket last year (March 2020) for myself as a replacement to an oversize 3-in-1 LLB jacket from years prior. I have read stories about leaky seams and fragile outer shell. This hasn't been my experience at all. Throughout the past year, I have worn this jacket with a t-shirt in 25 degree weather with blistering winds and on days with light rain - no issues with cold air bleeding through or staying dry. The hood comes in handy on occasion. The chest pocket is the best spot for really easy access to the cell phone. The jacket is totally washable. I wore it around a camp fire and it soaked in the firewood smoke. I tossed it into the washer with a load of laundry and air dried it. After a wash, the down returns to its original shape without flattening or sagging (which was my biggest fear of washing it). I hope this review helps.

Light weight. Looks sharp. Actually I ordered tall medium. I hate short sleeves, and cold wrists. This size is perfect for me. Warm but not too warm. I have a really cold weather coat too in down and gore Tex that'd be too much unless it's really cold. This jacket is very good to quite cold, just not sub zero, but it'd be ok in a pinch. Get one. You'll like it.

I really like this jacket. It is light in weight, is warm and has a nice fitting hood. I've worn it alone as well as under a heavy work coat when the temps were in the teens. The jacket is extremely functional and oh yes, quite good looking. Mine is yellow I guess and I love it.

This is absolutely the warmest lightweight jacket I have ever owned. I play golf 4 or 5 times a week and this jacket allows complete freedom of swing plus providing a comfortable warmth. I could not be more pleased with this purchase.

This is the first down jacket I have ever owned I have used it camping hunting and backpacking during early spring season and I have been very satisfied with how warm it keeps me when the sun sets and for how lightweight and compressible it is. I love the stowaway pocket as well as the chest zipper. now I just wish I had one without a hood so I could have the option of hood or no hood.

I have loved everything about this coat. I wasn't sure on the color when I purchased it, but it looks better in person. The coat fits very well and best of all is very warm. I was worried when I opened the package and got the coat out it seemed very light, but I have worn it out in very cold tempts and it has kept me warm. I will definitely recommend this coat to my friends.

Incredibly warm, incredibly light. Will be my go-to for spring and autumn. Highly recommended. I'd share a photo, but you'd do better looking at the young dudes in the catalogue! Bottom line, I'm impressed. P.S. I am a Veteran and llbean give a discount, so not only a great product, it was a great price.

Despite being a bit pricey, this coat is extremely versatile. Unbelievably lightweight for the warmth level. It can pack into it's own pocket and takes up very little space. It's a great outer layer for chilly days, or a very cozy underlayer that doesn't feel overly bulky whatsoever for those bitter days. Great evening layer for those chilly summer nights, and very stylish as well. It uses a water resistant down that won't clump up and be useless in a little rain. I absolutley love this down sweater and use it all the time, all year round. Go get yourself one!!

I was looking for a new down jacket for camping to be used at night. I am a hammock camper and a backpacker so I wanted ultralight, down and a hood. So this arrived today and I wore it outside to take my dog out and get the mail. I wore it over a hoodie and a t shirt. It's WARM! Not too hot but definitely not cool either. It's currently 3 degrees Fahrenheit (-16c) here. I plan to use this while sleeping. I also will be using a down under quilt and top quilt. This will be great for that as well as for around town. The stitching seems solid and the overall quality looks good. The zippers pull easy. With proper care this should last a lifetime. Just remember down requires special care when washing. Also, due to the ultralight materials I wouldn't go roll around in the briars with this on. However, if you're looking for ultralight, warm and compressible this is an excellent choice. The fit is perfect, arms stop just beyond my wrist joint which I like. Not tight at all, an xl would be baggy on me.

Warm and light. Also great price for this type of gear. Down poked through shell from day one, so unsure of its longevity. Using this as a winter hiking insulation piece so need something durable. Have lots of LL Bean stuff, and it has all worn well (Bean Boots, slippers, PJs, hiking pants) so hopefully this is similar.

It's a decent winter jacket if you have something heavy underneath.

I bought this as an alternate to a similar non-hooded Bean jacket. I moved from AZ to SC and have more rain here. Very comfortable and with the hood keeps me warm and dry without an umbrella! The only issues I've had on previous jackets is cutting the outer fabric with the zipper when using the "stow" pocket. The down starts coming out and I haven't found a way to seal the tear. The fabric is very thin, hence the light weight and comfort, but easily cut.

This is my 2nd ultra light down jacket. Roomy enough to wear a sweater underneath but not too bulky as I sometimes wear a hard shell rain jacket on top. My only complaint is that you removed the interior stuff pocket. That pocket on my older one is perfect for holding my phone or wallet.

A tad expensive for what it is, but the quality is high and it is very comfortable. I am happy I have it and expect to get two or three years of Fall and Spring wear out of it.

Nice lightweight sweater/jacket...wish it had a little more weight to it...other than that, very well constructed, sturdy zippers, warm, great waist adjustments on either side and love the front top cell phone zippered pocket....great Blueish color and stitching design
