It's lightweight, soft and extremely comfortable. My husband loves it!

I purchased this jacket in late Fall 2025 and it is excellent down to about 30 F, unless your being very active. This jacket replaced an 8 year old prior mode. The quality is usual LL Bean, excellent! The fit is very good and can be worn over a mid-layer. The down is very light and surprisingly warm. My wife likes the styling and colors. I have received several comments from strangers about the jacket.

I am very impressed with this jacket. It is extremely lightweight yet it is amazingly warm. It blocks the wind, and the elastic at the wrists keeps the cold from the forearms without binding. I was looking for a lightweight winter jacket, and this one more than fills the bill.

This jacket is warmer than I thought it would be and fits close to the body making it very comfy to wear.

My grandson loves this jacket. He wears it all the time and says it's very light but super warm.

Bought this for my 6'2 son who has a long torso. He loves it, says its warm and fits perfect. He is 180 lbs and has plenty of room under for a sweatshirt.

My husband absolutely loves his Christmas gift! He already had something similar without a hood that he wears all the time so I decided to surprise him with a hooded one.

5++ STARS!! Outstanding performance. I had an older down jacket that was ok, but once it got wet, forget it, didn't trap heat anymore and it was just too big to fit under my hardshell, so I knew I had to upgrade. Purchased this 850 down sweater jacket and it fitted perfectly under my Gore-Tex Pro Patroller hardshell and it provided absolutely Awesome warmth down to zero degrees. The warmth/weight factor is huge for the total weight of this jacket. This is my Go To layer jacket underneath my hardhshell when it is brutally cold outside with the bone chilling Atlantic sea winds. I usually just wear this 850 down jacket by itself around the yard/town. It is slighted fitted so it gives you that athletic appearance and feel, but it still allows you to put a layer underneath, most of the time during the cold winter months I just use this 850 down sweater jacket by itself, perfect! I use all two layers when I go skiing above Colorado timberline, about 12,000+ feet and nothing penetrates these layers. Love the two zippered hand pockets and the zippered chest pocket, the insulated hood is awesome, with the added touch of the elastic cuffs and the drawcord at the bottom of the jacket to keep out any cold/snow. Also this 850 down sweater jacket is packable into it's own pocket, which means this jacket will be in my backpack when I am backpacking over night above timberline elevations. What else can you say about Perfect!!

This jacket is excellent. Kept me warm is sub-freezing temps and high winds with only a t shirt underneath!

Bought this jacket for my husband because he like the blue one so much, he wanted the black one also. It's very light weight but extremely warm without all the bulk. Likes the hood and zip up collar which allows him to wear his baseball cap all year long. Front outside zip pocket is perfect for cell phone or other items. Washed up nicely.

best shoulder season jacket I've ever owned. comfortable in outside temperatures of about 50 -65. will do with a sweater under it from 40 degrees.

I'm 6'1, 175 lbs, and the L Tall is a great fit. Love the design, the hood, the light weight, all pockets and zippers are good. Truly a quality product.

We purchased the down jacket for travel to Japan next month. Traveling light, we only have room for a rain coat. The jacket can be stuffed in a sack to provide warmth on Mount Fuji. The hood is an important feature.

This jacket is true to size (small fits a little big on 5'7", 130 pounds), and is lightweight and comfortable. Easy to travel or hike with, and looks great dressed up or down!

A very good racket, but could be great if they added vents on the sleeves. It can get very hot, very quickly when x-c skiing.

Purchased as a layer for shoulder season and travel. Works well for temperatures 45-55 degrees Fahrenheit. Seems to shed a few more feathers than my winter jacket from Bean. Fit is good, order size up if layering under the jacket.
