The jacket is extremely warm throughout the 30's.Sizing is true.Plenty .of room underneath for multiple layers. The feeling wearing the jacket is simply magical.Ultralight 850 down is something you have to experience yourself . It is so warm and so light that I enjoy wearing it day after day. I strongly recommend this product.

I have owned numerous down hooded jackets from different companies and this is my favorite. Unlike some of the others the outer shell on the Ultralight 850 is more durable. My only issue has been with one of the pocket zippers and the teeth broke off. Since I have the navy Ultralight the zippers are off red so you can not just pick up a new zipper and LL Bean doesn't sell replacement zippers. LL Bean will fix but that means 8-12 wks without a jacket. Fortunately, LL Bean stands behind their jackets

I bought my first two pre covid. I've purchased 2 more since, the most recent a month ago. I have two with hoods and two without. I bought large enough, that I can wear something under them. I've also worn them under a ski jacket on the coldest of days. My wife has four. The non hood version packs right into an inside pocket, and can be used as a pillow on a flight we love them!

Incredibly light weight. Haven't had a chance to wear it in Minnesota cold weather, but it packs away nicely and it's great for the last few days where the morning temps have dropped to the upper 30's.

Warm, packed and unpacked well. It really wasn't that cold to test warmth.

My father is 95 . He hates to feel restricted so it was hard to convince him to wear a heavier winter coat. He loves it so much he uses it putter around the yard and doesn't feel weighed down.

This jacket is a great final layer just before the hard shell. I wear it skiing and it is very warm. I wouldn't wear it alone as the trees might snag and tear the jacket's fabric. It is very light. But seems durable. Definitely a very good last layer on those sub zero days!

Great jacket... light, easy to pack, warm with just a shirt at 30, added a mid layer for 20's. Recommend, you will not be disappointed. (only wish is the elastic went around the entire cuff)

I fell in love with this jacket just by looking at it. I was going to buy a black or red jacket since not many other colors look great to me. When I went into my nearest L.L. Bean store, I was looking to find a lighter jacket for winter but one that would keep me warm. I saw this jacket in blue, with the orange accent and instantly feel in love. The fit was perfect and it was super lightweight. The feel of the material was super smooth. It even has a cool stash function with the left pocket to turn the jack inside out into a small compact package. Price wise it was well over my budget but the quality was well worth it as long as it holds up for a long time cause I don't plan on buying another jacket for a long time.

So this is my third jacket in this style. Why you might ask? Let me tell you. I got this jacket in blue in a large. It's the greatest jacket in the world. Light, dries quickly when it's raining. Keeps me warm in any weather since I work outside all year round. Then I gained 80 pounds. I looked like a stuffed sausage in a large. So I got one in XL. Life was good again. Then my doctor said lose some weight. So i listened because i want to live and i lost 80 pounds. So purchased my third jacket, now in black instead of blue, because the extra large was way too big after I lost the weight. I love this jacket. It is the perfect jacket. Just buy it and thank me later. You won't regret it.

All in all a great everyday jacket (large tall) for a Cleveland, Ohio winter. Lightweight, warm, very comfortable. I wish the outer zippered chest pocket was a little deeper. There's only one inner pocket, on the left side, jacket would benefit from a second, right side pocket. I don't like logos on clothes but they won't go away, will they? However, it's bad enough that there's a logo on the front; there's also one on the back, as well as one on a sleeve. What's the point?! Totally unrelated, if this jacket was cut longer to a parka length I'd buy it.

This is a great jacket...warm in the 30-50 space. It's very light ,warm and good looking. Won't stand up to puppies though. This is my second, the first got torn up by my Portuguese Water Dog puppy who gets over enthusiastic when we go to the beach!

Light, really warm, comfortable, fits well (LG Tall), thoughtful features (chest pocket to keep electronics warm, elastic cinches in the right place), packs down small... Everything I was looking for. I wear this thing constantly around town, it also gets stuffed into my pack on hikes / backpacking trips. Very happy with this one.

This is a beautiful jacket with zippers that work flawlessly. The pockets are built under the down lining so your hands stay warm. Hood is easy on and off. When off, it provides a nice scarf affect that keeps your neck warm. I bought a regular based on the sizing in the Bean chart. I was well within "regular" but found that it was too snug in the chest and felt like it was binding a little where the sleeve joined the body. I had a light shirt under the jacket and felt that a flannel shirt or heavy sweater would be really tight. I returned the regular and bought a Large. It fits perfectly! I've worn it in as low as 3 degrees and it's nice and warm!

As someone with long arms, I've had several down jackets that don't quite fit. This one is perfect! Not only is the sizing perfect but it doesn't shed feathers like some of the others that I've tried. Great job L.L.Bean!
