6'5" 200 athletic build and the medium tall size fit me perfectly. Tried the L tall and it was a little looser than I wanted. Haven't had it in extreme cold yet, but appears to be warm. Very soft filling. Stylish. Would recommend.

My old LL Bean coat is fine but it a bit too big nowadays. This new coat is light weight, weather resistant and warm. It fits well and feels good. Now all I need is a snow storm.

We ordered this for my 18yo son to take to with him to college up north this fall. We live in southern Virginia where we have slightly shorter winter seasons, but it does get freakishly cold here at times. Anyway, my son's rarely had need for a real winter coat here over the years--he usually gets by with layers, so this is his first adult size winter coat. He hasn't really needed it here yet (it's spring), but I've *borrowed* it to walk the dog on a few very frigid mornings (temps in the high 20s) and WOW is it nice and toasty warm. I am tempted to order one for myself (in my size) I like it so much! My son likes the way it fits. We had wanted to get him a *tall* because he has kind of extra long arms, but talls were out of stock. So, we took a chance on regular XL and it seems to work well enough for him sleeve-wise. It's a little bit roomy around the middle for him, but he likes it that way as he often wears large sweatshirts and layers. If you have to be outside in the bitter cold, this coat will keep you warm. It's like walking around in your favorite down comforter with sleeves and pockets.

I bought this for my husband for when he walks the dogs on our cold mornings. He loves it. It has lots of pockets and a great hood. It comes down to his thigh and is wind and rain resistant.

I bought this coat for my Dad who moved from Arizona to New Hampshire this past year. I purchased a larger size since he wants to wear sweaters under the coat. He finally feels warm when he goes outside. He feels comfortable and is happy with his new coat.

Due to a a long stretch of very cold weather I found I did not have an adequate coat for extended walks with the dog. This coat turned out to be the perfect solution. Fit was just right, and light weight but sufficiently warm. Nice appearance and reasonably priced. In short, totally satisfied.

Purchased this coat after my wife purchased the woman's version. I was impressed with how light the coat is. The coat is far warmer than one would think based on the weight. The coat is puffy but not too puffy. Its very comfortable, and has enough room to have several layers on under the coat. Personally I find the coat too warm for days in the low-mid 30 degree F but was ideal for days in the mid 10 degree F. The coat has ample storage to include zippered pockets within the side pockets and a zippered internal breast pocket. The hood is detachable which is a nice feature. The zippers are high-quality YKK zippers and the riveted buttons seem to be high quality as well. This is a true high-quality LL Bean coat. I love it.

This is my husband's first real winter, nice coat. He's always layered coats because he's stubborn and didn't want to invest in a nice coat. Well, after some outdoor wine tasting in Washington in January and watching him shiver, I decided I was going to purchase a coat for him whether he liked it or not. Well, he LOVES it! The fit is a little big, but it's perfect to wear bulky sweaters or hoodies underneath, so I'm saying it a perfect fit. The length covers his bum for extra warmth. Excellent fit, very warm, splendid quality!

This men's mountain classic down parka is perfect for me. It keeps me warm when the temperature drops to -25. In warmer days when I wear it, I don't feel too "warm." It truly keeps one warm +25/-40! Price wise, LL Bean offers the BEST price. I live in Montana. I can not survive the winters here without this mountain classic down parka. If you live in similarly cold states, I highly recommend this parka to you. It is superlight. When you don't wear it during other seasons, simply put it in a zip bag. It does not take much space. When you go camping, you definitely need such a down parka. If you drive through these northern states, this parka does keep you warm, better than a blanket. The design of this parka is up to date. I look more dashing, professional and younger in this parka. I have tried down jackets and parkas by other vendors. They look not nice on me and I don't like their prices. I returned 5 of them in one month.

With outdoor dining here in Brooklyn, NY still in effect, this is the perfect parka! When very cold the hood (with a GP knit cap) is more than enough to keep warm.

I know that this isn't considered a coat but this is a great coat lol. It keeps me very warm in 20 degree weather and is not heavy at all. Perfect weight in case you have to take it off and carry it for a while. I love the concealed zippered pockets inside the main pockets. Took me a week to notice those were even there lol.The material looks great and for a parka I definitely recommend it. I would of course tear easily if you snag some jagged metal or broken tree branch but I think it's perfect for the price and weight. Mine is green and I love how it's not too bright. Anyways, great coat! 10 out of 10 stars!

I have used the Mountain Classic Down Jacket for a few seasons (excellent coat btw). On the extra cold and windy nights, I sometimes wished for a hood. BEHOLD!!! I like the added warmth of the parka but the extra length will take getting use to. Other than being warmer, you can't tell it's longer till you either look down or reach for your pocket. I'm loving it. I'm 5'9, 160lbs and the medium was perfect. I have ample room for a mid layer if needed. This fabric isn't like those paper thin membrane down coats. This wont snag and rip like some coats today. You can expect years of every day use out of this parka. I speak from experience as the Mountain Classic Down Coat is made the same and of the same material. It's tough and it ROCKS! Stay warm friends.

This is the first coat I've purchased in several years and immediately noticed how much warmer it is than my old down coat. The Mountain Classic Parka fits true to size and I love the pockets within the pockets with zippers for keys etc. This is an all around great warm coat. Pleased that I purchased it.

We live in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and I walk my dog mornings and nights. During the winter it can get cold here (high 20s, low 30s) and although I've always been cold by nature I never had a coat that truly kept me warm. This parka is just what the doctor ordered. I like everything about it, and especially the fact that it hits me mid-thing, providing an extra bit of protection from the wind. I got the X-large with the idea that I'd wear it over a suit when the weather got really cold, and it accommodates that. However, it's not too loose if I wear just a sweater. I'd like to have a vertical zip pocket on the chest area, but that's a personal preference and not a knock on the coat. In the online reviews I saw some complaints about the zipper and the snap-on hood, but the former works fine and I detect no air leaks with the latter. My only disappointment is that I did not find this coat years ago.

This coat was a gift for my husband for Christmas and at first we got the large because that is what was recommended to him, but after he tried it on and tried to be "normal" with it a few days, he decided that the XL might be better for him. We did go to the store and they had the coat in the Olive color which he was okay with and he is overall very happy with this coat, which makes me happy too because he is very very picky!
