Super versatile and especially good for commuters - it's very breathable and makes transitioning from outdoor cold to indoor heating less unpleasant. It does not provide the same kind of cozy warmth that a wool or cotton jacket would, but I haven't felt actively cold either - the jacket manages to keep your body temp in a sweet spot most of the time.

This jacket was an unexpected find! It is super comfortable and lightweight, perfect for keeping the chill off. Rain just rolls off it.

Perfect jacket, warm, packable, waterproof, and plenty of pockets and a hood, just what I was looking for in a jacket!

I was asked to write a review. This is a great jacket. The material is a nice new material which should not be hot and sticky like other materials. I am a woman who hikes in all kinds of weather. I layer clothes as needed and when needed. I have rain jackets but none with a little insulation and rains do get cold in spring and fall. Women's did not have the pockets I wanted and I wanted a little longer sleeves and tail. These are all common complaints of women's clothing. I hope the shoulders hold up to regular back/day pack use.

I really like the jacket. It is warm, waterproof and lightweight. I recommend layering for temperatures below freezing.

This has to be the best jacket that I've ever bought for myself. It's comfortable, lightweight, good-looking and can pack away into itself into a small, travel pillow-sized rectangle when I'm hiking/camping and need to put it away. All the pockets are lined, and it even has a large media pocket toward the bottom on the inside that I use to tuck my gloves into on cold days. It's completely waterproof, while not making noise or looking like a raincoat. The only suggestion I would make to improve it and make it absolutely perfect would be to add a two-way zipper, so that it can be unzipped slightly from the bottom when I'm driving or sitting for prolonged periods. The zipper used is waterproof though, so it doesn't require a placket to cover it, making it much easier to zip and unzip the jacket quickly. I hope they continue to offer these for a long time, so that I can buy another one someday if this one wears out. I may just buy another now and store it away for that purpose.

This is a fantastic lightweight jacket with the added bonus of comfort and being 100% waterproof. The weather here in central Pennsylvania changes drastically from day to day, and this jacket is great for all conditions. I also love that it is easily stowed into itself for easy packing in a small backpack. Highly recommended!

I have used this jacket both for skiing and snowmobiling and I love this jacket. Fits great, keeps me warm and the elements out. I have used this jacket on below 30 degree days and colder and I was warm. This jacket is more of a shell, which is what I wanted, so I do layer underneath. For the price, I am extremely happy with my purchase. I would definitely recommend this jacket, and very glad I purchased it.

These coats are very light weight and so very warm. They have replaced bulky down jackets. I have two and my husband has two. If I were to make any changes at all, it would be to offer grey in women's and have the zipper unzip from both top and bottom.

Good fit, very warm and of course waterproof. Like the hood because I have a long neck and it fits just fine. Very pleased with the item.

I enjoy wearing this coat. It's light as a feather but warm as toast. Water repellancy is impressive, not being a plastic type of fabric. If I had one thing I'd change, it would be hood storage loops. Having the hood out all the time is kind of bogus.

This jacket will work perfectly when it gets too cold for a sweater. I was surprised it held up well while shoveling snow around 15 degrees calm wind, stronger winds I will be changing back to my winter coat.

It fit him well. Warm enough that he does not have to wear extra layers in our Seattle wet winter weather. And he stays dry. So, for him, it is a win-win. He decides to go walk his 4-5 mile walks/day and he just puts on this raincoat that keeps him warm. Stepping out of the house without anguishing about layers. Keeps him dry enough, too. He does have to anguish about whether/not to don rain pants, tho

Son asked for this for Christmas to wear while walking the dog. Husband tried it on for fit and liked it. Ordered him one in XXL tall.

My husband owns several LL Bean jackets and for Christmas I wanted to get him something new. I started with a barn coat from another company. That went back. Together we shopped for a replacement at LL Bean. This jacket was selected because it is waterproof and has thin insulation. The jacket came this week and he is thrilled! While taking our dogs out day and night in a variety of weather conditions my husband stayed dry, warm and protected from the wind. The best feature is how thin and comfortable it is. He usually takes off parkas while driving but this jacket stays on. Most of his outerwear from LL Bean is size large but x-large worked best since he is a big built guy and this item has a slim design. This is all from a man who doesn't get excited about any clothing! Like I said to him, if you want the best, go with LL Bean. Highly recommended.

A great jacket. Wonderful smooth, soft outer material. Not 'noisy' and 'crinkly' like some other water/wind-proof materials. The PrimaLoft Gold insulation provides warmth with very little bulk. The wind and waterproof Tek is amazing. It has just the right number, size and placement of pockets. I particularly like the fact that when you zip the jacket all the way up, it forms a nice snug barrier around my neck. And doing this has no impact on the use of the hood. I've also received several compliments on its appearance.

This jacket is great for anything from chilly autumn or spring days to all but the coldest winter days in Boston. When it's really cold out, I pair this with one or two layers and am ready for anything. It's waterproof, it breathes and has a nice hood, so I'm protected. I expect that I'll be wearing this jacket for years.

Just tested the coat out for a 5 mile morning walk. 22F with a 15-25 mph wind (wind chill around 10-15F). The coat is very lightweight but kept me warm with a long sleeve cotton tee-shirt underneath (sweat pants and long johns). Walking into the wind was a tough on my face (I was wearing a beanie covering my ears) and I found that putting on the hood helped break the wind somewhat on my face, which helped a good bit. My head is on the large side and the hood fit extremely well with the thin beanie I was wearing. I'm short and the regular length did cover my bottom. If you are taller (who isn't) you may want the tall length. The coat is also quiet. My wife got a new LL Bean winter coat (another type) and the outer layer "swishes" a good bit as she walks and swings her arms against the coat. This coat, however, is virtually silent in that regards with my arm movement against the coat. With the hood up I could hear a bit of the hood "swish" against my beanie. The coat is very light and seems thin, but really does the job cutting the wind and cold. It is very packable although I have not actually tried that yet. Definitely worth the price.

I have been especially impressed with the water repellency combined with breathability of this jacket. Great color and perfect fit. I haven't worn it in temperatures colder than 48 degrees so far but that will come soon enough. I also liked the lining and waterproof zippers.

I was hoping this jacket would work well for cooler days but thought I'd have to wear a parka for very cold days. The range of temps this jacket covers is amazing. I ended up wearing it for 3 seasons in NY. Great hood, too, and packs up nicely.

I am tall and have a long sleeve length. I ordered an XL Tall jacket and it fits perfect. I wanted a light weight, warm jacket for driving and traveling, and this fits the bill.
