Liked the cuffs on the sleeves best, unfortunately I could not live with the Pit Zippers, they bothered me too much when walking.

Had to stand in line for 45 minutes in 35 degree weather. I was pretty cold by the end of it. Its pretty warm if you layer in a vest, but then you lose some of that light weightness. Great jacket for high 30s low 40s unless you are hot blooded or you layer it up.

It was my favorite winter coat for running around NYC, But this fall 2020, the rain started coming through the shoulder.

I purchased this to replace your Rugged Ridge Parka which I had tried to purchase months earlier but which never arrived because the container ship it was on burned up at sea. The new jacket had a non-detachable hood which I don't like and this was not apparent in your catalogue.

This jacket was rated as warm and winter temps but it is very thin, more like a spring Jacket. First clue was the envelope it was shipped in. Seriously if a men's winter jacket can fit in an envelope, don't call it a winter jacket. It was a lovely teal color and fit well, just not suited to upstate NY winter. It should be sold as a spring jacket, was $200 not worth it at all. We returned it to the store.

First the good. This is overall a nice coat. It has plenty of pockets, like a lot of Bean's coats. The hood is the best fitting hood I have ever used. But this coat is not warm. Here in southern IN we have a lot of different weather in the winter. I have tried this in several different conditions and have never been warm it it. The insulation feels extra thin across the back of the shoulders and that is with a heavy layer under it. It might be a good coat for cool, wet spring conditions but not a winter coat. I have been a Bean's customer for years and own several of their coats and this is the first to disappoint.

I've been a loyal Bean customer for 40 years; however, this jacket was a (very rare) disappointment. It is well made and prevents cold air from entering around the neck, wrists, and waist, but it is not warm. It is more of a thinly insulated wind-breaker than a winter coat. (I suppose that the adjective "packaway" should have been a tip-off.) Not worth the $250 that I paid for it.

Inside pockets catch on skin (made with polyester material). Otherwise a solid jacket. Had to return.

I have only received excellent feedback from the person I gave a winter coat to for Christmas. This person has told me it is the best coat they have ever received and keeps them warm in cold New England winter weather.

No heat and wind protection, this jacket looks like only for looks, it's not tuff, it feels like a tissue mixed with a recycled trash bag.

I purchased this jacket for travel because of its weight and waterproof fabric (TEK). In Italy my party was caught in a downpour for 3 miles while hiking and this jacket completely failed to keep water from soaking though and drenching me. I would not buy outerwear or boots that rely upon TEK for waterproofing.

It is terribly over priced and not what the LL Bean rep led me to believe it was. I will return it and am upset that I will not have the perfect jacket for my husband's Christmas gift.

Jacket lasted about 2 months before the paper thin outer layer was ripped by a piece smooth plastic. LL Bean refused to replace or refund or offer anything. They should discontinue putting this outer layer fabric on anything. Very disappointed

Multiple problems with this item. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM! I've been buying from LL Bean for 43 years and can not recall ever leaving negative review before this. This coat does NOT keep me warm and LL Bean will not let me return for refund! I do not generally feel cold; I never even reach for a jacket until the temps are in low 50's. This coat is rated for temps of 25 with mild activity and -25 for moderate activity. That is nonsense. I wanted the coat for temps of about 32 to 50, and the waterproof feature was a plus so I could use it for cold/wet rainy weather when my warmest coats are too warm. I've tried wearing this coat in various conditions and even with temps in the 40's I am too cold. It does not keep me warm. I bought it at LL Bean store in King of Prussia PA, clerk never gave me receipt (said it was being emailed, never got it) and now LL Bean refuses to give refund because I do not have receipt and its not in their system (clerk error at the store)! I even still have all the tags but they insist no refund without receipt. Let me assure you that you do NOT want this coat. Two-thirds of my clothing is LL Bean but after the way they handled this attempt to return, the next thing that will NOT be returning is ME.

Only worn this jacket a few times and it ripped on the back side while taking a fall downhill skiing in icy conditions. I don't recommend this jacket for downhill skiing as the material seems very light and easy to damage. Unfortunately, the rip is not covered under warranty. I do recommend purchasing the Rugged Ridge Parka. I originally purchased the the Parka (older style) but had to exchange it when the weather prof pocket sippers needed repair after a few years of use. They were not able to repair the sipper and didn't have a similar jacket to exchange at the time, so I went with the primaloft Packaway Jacket instead. I'm regretting that decision and I wish I had the Rugged Ridge Parka with the broken zippers.

Paying $259 for a windbreaker is a cruel joke. I've worn my Maine Warden's Parka in January in Kansas City and Cedar Rapids in below zero temperatures while on business travel. I've no complaint with that product... it was wonderful. I've also purchased a couple of Bean's 3 in 1 jackets and they were equally warm if used with a thick sweater. When I used the Primaloft Packaway Jacket (tall size) in 16 deg. weather with a 10mph wind, I also had on a Bean's lined flannel shirt, a Bean's heavy wool sweater and a Bean's fleece-lined hoody. While on evening walks I froze to the point of shivering. I purposely got the XXL size to allow for layering. The Packaway jacket was worse than useless for keeping warm. The Packaway is only good for breaking the wind and keeping the rain off. The sizing was excellent for length and layering. The wrist snugs were very effective. The drawstrings were good at keeping the drafts out, but there is no way this Packaway is good to minus 25 degrees F. As I said before... it is a cruel joke for any of your people to maintain the claim of minus 25 degrees F. I haven't returned the Packaway because the zippers are gone in my other jackets. If a replacement zipper costs $100, I'd rather put that $100 toward a new jacket. You got me this time, but it will be difficult to forget.

The zipper broke on this coat after only 2 years. L. L Bean does NOT guarantee their products anymore except for within year, and you must have your receipt!!!

quality of LLBs winter coats is not what it was like 3 years ago. Obviously, LLB IS CUTTING CORNERS ON CRAFTSMANSHIP. It as if these clothes are made in China or something? This is not a $250 coat. I wouldn't pay 80 bucks for this thin non- winter coat. I bought this to replace same style LLB coat that I purchased about 6 yrs ago. I am returning the newer coat. All I can say is if you order this coat you'll likely return it. It is too thin and too light weight for warmth... the very reason why you would spend $245 on a coat.

Wanted a bit of a lighter jacket for winter and after reading the reviews decided to purchase this jacket. When it arrived, the package was so very thin and light I had my doubts about how warm it would be. Tried it on during a couple of pretty chilly nights here in upstate NY and knew immediately that this jacket is NOT for cold winter weather. Nice jacket, but the claims of it being warm and description saying +25 to -25 are horrendously exaggerated. This is NOT a warm winter jacket. Returned for refund.
