Hands down the best winter jacket. Keep you warm with out being big and bulky. Would 10/10 recommend if your shopping for a new winter jacket.

Surprisingly warm. For two winters now, this has been my primary jacket, even in temps down to the single digits. Even the hood keeps your head warm. The only thing I'm adding is a scarf. It is truly waterproof too.

This jacket performed just as promised. It folded nicely into the pocket for easy transport to Europe. There are a lot of secure pockets to protect passports and other valuables. The hand pockets are very warm. The fit was just right. I would buy again.

Had been looking for a multi purpose jacket for some time and came across this one, so decided to give it a try. It surpassed my expectations. Fit is spot-on (medium- 5'11", 165lb). Have used on multi day hikes and week long backpacking trip in Olympic National park. We were exposed to raining conditions for the entire trip and it did a good job shedding water throughout the day, but did have some dampness by the evening. However it dried well overnight. The pit zips work well to reduce heat and the pockets are well placed with adequate storage space. It provides the perfect level of warmth with light shirt down to 40 degrees and gives adequate room to layer for lower temperatures. This has become my goto jacket!

I bought this coat to take on a European riverboat cruise in November. It was the perfect coat as it kept me very warm in cold and windy weather and dry in the rain. I love how it is so packable and easily fits in my backpack.

I was gifted the blue jacket 4 winters ago and it has endured many conditions in Illinois. But a lightweight jacket enabling versatility and warmth is unsurmountable. It's the best jacket I've owned in my life. Unless it's colder than 15F out I only need to wear thermals, a regular shirt, and sometimes a sweater. It's to the point where my other layers of clothing need to catch up because this checks every criteria I would hope for in a jacket.

This jacket has exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend. It is lightweight, fits true to size, and performs well. I've worn it on warm-ish days (50's and sunshine) and on cold and windy days (30's on a very windy beach). Layers will make a difference, though so will how warm you are feeling. The versatility of this jacket make it a top choice, as well as it's light waterproofing (think water resistant), and waterproof zippers. The gusseted liner cuffs help keep out wind. The pit-zips are a nice touch and have a mesh lining to keep out bugs, etc. The jacket packs down into the internal pocket which is handy for travel. I own a few Arc'teryx jackets and have looked at similar models from them. I can't justify any "upgrade" to that brand since this jacket is so good. This jacket provides comfort, functionality, and performance that raises my expectations of what to expect from an always great L.L. Bean product.

Fantastic coat. Lightweight. Super comfortable. Super warm for Wisconsin winters. Especially because it stops the wind.

I bought one of these for myself and liked it so much I got one for Hubby. I picked the Bronze color for him because it was different. He did not say much at first then the color grew on him, and he loves it. He has had it in the rain, and very cold wind.

Nice jacket for "warmer" winter temps .. layers extend the range. Sheds moisture and wind real well too.

Very nice jacket. It's a little long which is good for rain or snow. It's warm but you should layer underneath if the weather is very cold.

I've had this jacket for about a month of use. I use it primarily as a work jacket when it is raining and temperatures are in the 30's and 40's. I have another primaloft jacket and a vest that are not waterproof. The outer waterproof layer combined with the primaloft insulation make this jacket warmer than I expected. The knitted inner cuffs also add to the warmth. The zipper is a one way zipper, which works well and is what I prefer, as I have had some difficulty with LLB two way zippers on a prior purchase. I am between sizes and purchased the larger size, which gives room for an additional layer if it is cold. I am glad I purchased this jacket and recommend it.
