My husband and I both have this jacket. I bought mine in the Bean store after it was recommended by a sales associate. I had the opportunity to wear it on a rainy day dog walk and I was warm and dry. It is light enough to pack easily for travel. I then ordered one for my husband and he loves it. Much better than Goretex. Highly recommend!

I was skeptical that a jacket this light could be warm, but was pleasantly surprised. The fit is great. My third Bean jacket, very satisfied

Perfect jacket. Ll bean nailed it with this one. The fit is great, it's lightweight, but super warm. Have had zero issues in full downpour, it's waterproof. I wear it everyday regardless of how cold it is in Massachusetts.

Purchased for an early spring European holiday and it proved to be perfect. Light enough for days that warmed and yet insulated enough to ward off chillier weather. Worked well as a rain jacket too. The many pockets were a big help when shooting photos. Its ability to self-store in its pocket is great for packing (although it did take a few tries to perfect the method). All in all, I recommend this jacket. Very happy I purchased it.

Purchased this jacket in 2019 for lightweight travel in December to the markets in Europe. It performed exactly as rated for temps down to 25 degrees. For temps in the high 30's on down you need to layer a bit as recommended. I use merino light to mid weight base layers, or a light sweater type garment and it was perfect. If any downside in warmth I say it feels cool across shoulders down through the upper arms if not used with layering in those temps in mid-low 30's and down. Thats it. A primo jacket overall. Very pleased

I already have the LL Bean waterproof light weight jacket which is perfect for spring & summer. This coat has the same Tek waterproof quality but the primaloft gives me the warmth I need for fall and winter. My 850 down coat provide me the protection for those blustery, northern Michigan winters.

I bought this jacket for my husband because he wanted a water repellant jacket that he could wear during the cool rainy days of Wisconsin spring, without looking like he's wearing a "raincoat", and could still wear for warmth on days when it's not raining. He says it is good for blocking wind as well. He is happy, so I'm happy. By the way, I have the women's version of this jacket that I use for walking the dog in the rain. I also love mine.

Packaway Jacket has a light weight exterior shell. It has good length and plenty of pockets for town, boating or walking the dog. All pockets have zippers and are large enough for a pair of gloves, chest pockets are wonderfully oversized for a phone and with charger. With all of these features I can stuff it in a duffle for a cool weather sail.

It's pretty warm for how light it is. I'm pretty comfortable down into the upper 30s in it and it does a great job of blocking wind and rain. Haven't had it long enough to really comment on durability but you can tell it's well made. Fit is a tad snug around the chest and armpits but otherwise on point. I like all the pockets too

The jacket is water and wind proof. It met my expectations. It took a while to get used to the plastic zipper.

Comfortable, warm, waterproof, great fit. Bought for husband for upcoming trip to Iceland. Like that it's not bulky and will pack well. The trip is in June and although it's summer it will be rainy and temps in the 40 to 50 degree range. Liked that the material is softer and not as noisy as most waterproof rain jackets.

This jacket is fantastic and works well in wet and cold conditions. It is very lightweight and is the only jacket I need for NH winter. It kept me warm at -14. Am totally pleased with it!

I ended up not keeping this coat because my current coat still has life, but I was very tempted. This coat earns 5-stars. It is light, flexible, 10K waterproof and 30K g/m2/24hr breathable, and I believe it. I love the pocket arrangement, the adjustments built into the hem and hood, the insulation is top of the line synthetic and the right amount for most activities. My only concern is that perhaps the TEK coating may not be extremely rugged, but that is just because it is so light and supple. I think it is true to LLBean sizing, which for me requires me to size down. My wardrobe is split between small and medium, and I definitely need a small for this coat. 5' 8" 165 lbs.

This is the best jacket I have ever owned. It is light and thin enough to wear well above freezing, especially with the armpit venting, but with good layering it can stand up to extreme cold. I spent an hour in 10 degree whether (-7 with wind-chill) today and was comfortable the whole time. The hood is well-built to keep out rain and cinch down snugly. The wrists have a soft inner layer that seals around your hands, and it packs down to the size of a sub sandwich.

Excellent protection from the cold wind off the ocean; an exceptionally lightweight winter jacket -- it does what the store display indicated... keeps you the "warmest"! Definitely would recommend this. I also like that it has plenty of pockets, inside and out. Only downside is the price -- but I'm learning that it was worth the expenditure! (Located at the south Jersey shore)

Bought this for times when a regular down jacket wasn't enough due to snow or freezing rain and this thing works perfectly. Definitely waterproof, extremely warm, and packs down small enough to bring most places. Perfect for travel when you don't want to have to bring more than one jacket.

So far, my son who lives in Chicago, loves this jacket! He said it is very warm. He needed a waterproof jacket which was warmer than the one he had. His main mode of transportation is his bicycle even in inclement weather. He is 6'4" and had an athletic build. The large size did not fit well. It was tight in the shoulders and arm length was a little short. The large tall is perfect. I will be updated when those wind chills in colder weather hit again!

New to LL Bean clothes. Came across this on sale at Nord Rack and took a chance. I am a picky shopper and a fan of jackets. This stands above them all. I usually wear a L (I am 5'11" with normal build) but the medium which I purchased fits me perfectly. I can wear a light sweater under if need be. It handles the rain here quite well. It's waterproof, breathable, fashionable and a fraction of the price for another brand. I get a lot of compliments about it. Glad I bought it.

This is an amazing coat. Light, warm and very functional. Excellent for travel due to how thin it is and how well it packs. Don't let the thinness fool you however, this is a warm and water resistant coat. Going on my second winter with this coat and it's one of my favorites. I used it on a recent trip to Iceland this past November and it was my go to (temps upper 20's to mid 40's F). No issues in the 20's, not sure in the teens. The water proofing (resistance) really does work. Thoughtful design including great zippers, pockets and I love the wrist extensions to keep them warm and the wind off. Hood is great too. I got gunmetal which looks really nice. Size true to fit on the medium. Highly recommend this jacket and I hope they never stop making it, it's simply fantastic.
