Very comfortable walking show- No breaking in! I bought this shoe in W, and find it is a bit wider than I expected, compared to Merrill shows I've purchased. However a good shoe -and waterproof -

I like them. my only issue- is they are always coming untied. Its right where my foot and ankle move. I wish I had picked the boot instead of the shoe. They fit well, and keep my feet dry

Love the Moab 3 waterproof. I chose size 7.5 wide. They held up fantastically during a muddy trail hike. Feet stayed dry during the hike in puddles. Have not submerged them in anything deeper to check their waterproof claim. Easily rinsed/wiped the mud off. They were lightweight and gripped rocks and slopes well.

I had heard from so many people how comfortable these shoes and boots were so I finally decided to get some for hiking. Most my shoes have inserts that I need to keep my feet comfortable. I did not put inserts in them for our first hike of six and a half miles. I was tired at the end of the day but the next day I felt wonderful and my feet did not hurt. I would highly recommend these.

I was able to wear these right out of the box and do a 7k hike. No need to break them in. But I had quite a bit of moisture that leaked during an early April hike, so I'll have to stay away from water when I'm using them in the backcountry.

Bought a pair to replace my worn out Moab 2s. Bought a 9W. The shoe length is good for a 9 & the left foot is great, however, the right shoe is a bit snug for a wide foot. I hope they stretch out some. Like the new sole, which feels softer. I hope it isn't as slippery on wet granite rock, which was my only complaint about the Moab 2.

The moab3 withstood a steady hour long walk during a downpour, my socks got a little damp but it kept the feet insulated and comfortable

I wore these Moab 3 Waterproof shoes on a recent trip to Colombia. They were quite comfortable, but the right shoelace is about 2 inches shorter that the left shoelace. I was able to double knot the left shoe but not the right shoe, so the right lace opened a few times.

So supportive, great grip, definitely not waterproof. My toes get a bit wet after only a short walk in rain, puddles, or slush. If you walk for awhile your socks will be wet at the toe by the end. I would say they're fairly water resistant at best.

I usually love the Merrill products.
However I bought this shoe and found it comfortable enough but holes quickly emerged at the big toes through the material.
I use them as mud shoes for around the house.
I dont recommend them at all.

I had to return these shoes because they were too narrow. That is right, I ordered wide shoes and they were too narrow. My feet have not changed since the last time I ordered these shoes in regular or wide, but the shoe design has. In addition to not being wide enough, the toe has a taper to it. I like to wear thick socks when I go on a long hike, and the wide shoe has accommodated that in the past, but not any more. Even with regular hiking socks that are not too thick, this shoe is narrow at the toes. I am sorry Merrell had to change a good thing because the Moabs have been my go-to hiking shoes for several years now.

Comfortable and nice looking. Laces won't stay tied without double knotting them. Good traction but they hold mud and dirt in the treads. They seem durable.

I purchased these and the non-waterproof. These are heavier than the non ones, which was interesting. However, my issue with these is the tongue. They bunch together and rub on the top of the foot. The non-waterproof do not bunch together and the fabric is softer.

I've had the Merrell Moab 3 and find it really comfortable for walking. I bought this pair so as to have a waterproof pair, and now I have the comfort and support in a waterproof shoe. I'm pleased with them!

I have been wearing low profile Moabs for years. Ordered a new pair knowing what to expect. Was pleasantly surprised to see a slight style change. Instead of all leather they now have a mesh on top of the toe box. Hmmm, might even improve air circulation in summer. Still as superbly comfortable and waterproof as ever. Good thing as I can only were Merrell hiking shoes and boots.
