Love the ankle support. But they are kinda warm. Really make my feet hot

The wide width of the Moab 3 is NOT as wide as the Moab 2. There is a little squeeze on my toes but not unbearable. What I do like is that the rest of the shoe towards the heel is narrower (my foot is shaped like a pizza slice). These also seem a bit grippier. Ive never gotten more than 3 months of waterproof out of Merrell, so Im about 2 months until wet toes.

They seemed to be well made. The insoles are a bit thinner than I expected. But if I use my own orthotic insert, the shoes are too tight for comfort. I ordered size 8 wide, my normal size for trainers. Will keep them because there are not many waterproof boots that comes in wide width.

Usually I wear a 9W in hiking boots from Merrell but these fit about a half size too small. I returned the 9W for a 9.5W and that fits better. The 9.5W is still a bit narrow but I think that will be remedied once they get broken in.

I was sure these would be perfect and am so disappointed. I've had a pair of Merrell Moab 2 Waterproof hiking boots for the past 5 years and love them but, while they still look pristine on the outside, despite many, many miles of trails, the insoles were shot. I tried replacements but they made the boots too tight. I'd opted for a size 6 when I got the last ones and wore them with thinner wool hiking socks, but often wished I had the option of thicker socks, so I went for a 6 1/2 in these. The length is perfect even with thin socks, but they are ridiculously wide for me no matter how tightly I lace them. I know sometimes 6 1/2's run a bit wider than 6's, but they look like entirely different shoes. The style is different than the Moab 2's - instead of a regular tongue, the tongue is attached along much of the side - maybe for better waterproofing? - though the Moab 2's were great in rain and soggy mug (and brushed off easily when they were dry), so they didn't need this improvement. My husband just headed off to UPS to return the for me, or I'd take a photo to show the difference in width between these and my old ones. I bought a pair of Merrell winter boots this year, also in a 6 1/2, and ironically, they were the only winter boots of several I tried that weren't too wide. I have to say, I generally love Merrells for their quality - they really hold up well - and for comfort. But these fell down there too. I have flat feet and I usually love Merrell's arch support - just enough to keep me from over-pronation, but still very comfortable. Not these. The arches were painfully hard as soon as I put them on. And, despite the length being perfect, it didn't feel like the arches hit me in the right place. Moreover, despite being the perfect length (I even took the insoles out to double-check), I felt like my feet were swimming in them because they were so wide. I tied the laces as tightly as possible but I could not make them narrow enough. My feet are on the narrower side of average, but not so narrow that I can't wear a regular shoe. In nearly 20 years, I never had a Merrell shoe that was too wide for me before. I have a pair of "winter sneakers" from last year that are very similar to the Moab style, also a size 6 1/2 like these, and they fit perfectly (but aren't warm - hence the new winter boots). And I bought a pair of lightweight trail runners with the same partially attached tongue style as the new Moabs that are comfortable and nice and narrow - but the 6 1/2's were much too long - I needed a 6 in those. Merrell's sizing seems to be off this year. I'd ordered other sneakers and the shoes, though both were marked 6 1/2, were two different lengths. One fit and one was too small. To be sure, I took the insoles out to measure them and there was a noticeable difference in length. That's not the case here, but Merrell's sizing seems to have changed. If you have wide feet, I'd say go for it. If they hold up as well as the Moab 2 (and they look similarly well made), you'll have a great pair of boots.
I'd also recommend:
All my hiking boots for the past 15 years have been Merrell

Very warm and conformable winter boots. On the other hand, the breathability is a bit low.

The boots cut just below the balls on your ankle (for me anyways) i personally like a shoe that goes above them. Fit well and support your footing on the trials

No one does out of the box comfort like Merrell! I did a challenging 8km hike on the first day without a sore spot or blister. This is my second pair of MOABs, I love them. My last pair were a fabulous light blue, my favourite. This pair is charcoal with teal accents. I know black, brown and/or grey boots don't show the dirt but those colours don't out a smile on my face either. I am not a fan of Merrell's treads, I do NOT find them to be grippy. I exercise caution encountering wet surfaces. Otherwise, these boots rock!

Great Fit, and very comfortable. Usually have a hard time finding boots that are wide enough around the lower calf to fit or be comfortable to wear. These while not as wide as I would like on the lower calf, they are good and are comfortable to wear.

These are a Christmas present so haven't been tried on the trails yet. I did try them on and they feel great. Always have luck with Merrells - need a good, roomy toe box for hammertoes and these have it. Hoping these are as good as my worn out pair!

The fit and size were a good match. I can't verify the arch support as I didn't wear them long enough but felt like moderate arch support. I bought 3 Merrell waterproof hiking shoes trying to find one that fit my needs. Even though this shoe fit well enough and liked the style, the price was a little too steep for shoes that I won't wear that often. Hiking boots are for a cruise we're taking to South America and Antarctica.

I purchased these in July and finally got to test out how waterproof they are on a rainy 8.5 mile long hike in the Catskills. Unfortunately, these only lasted about 3 hours before my feet were soaked. I have been struggling to find a pair of wide boots that actually fit me; regular width boots don't leave enough room for my pinky toes to not suffer blisters. These were really bulky around the toe box. There was too much vertical space so I needed to lace them tightly to counteract. I wish I could return them, but I don't know if that is possible at this point.

Very comfortable. Good support. Have only tried them a couple of times. They were very slippery but I think that was due to all the dead leaves and steep incline.

They are like walking on air. Very well cushioned shoe. Could have stronger support around ankles bc my ankles give out when I do uneven trails. I've taken them on at least 5 trails so far and they hold up great. I'm very new at hiking so I feel this boot gets heavy going up really steep hills. If it wasn't for my dog, I'd never make it up these hills.

I ordered them online in my size, 7.5, after trying on a 7.5 in a store carrying the boot. They didn't have the colour I wanted so I ordered directly-shipping was fast, 3 days. I walked around the room in them when they arrived but the left toe felt too snug. Shipped them back and will have to find another store to try them in a size 8. I had to call customer service in order to get my refund processed after they sat in the return warehouse for a week.

Totally fit to my feet (22.5cm), then it is a bit tight, not very comfortable when first wearing. The color is a bit darker than one showed in the picture online. Good material!

Look clunky and wide, but if I lace them tightly, they fit my 10 narrow feet. Most other hiking boots are too wide in the heel, but these seem to be okay.

I have only worn these twice for some fairly easy walking. The fit cradles your feet as Merrell's shoes always have for me; I was comfortable the entire time I wore them. They are perhaps a tad heavy and warm. Of course, they are a hiking boot, not a sandal. I feel stable and secure wearing them. I do not know how they perform in rain yet. They are also smart looking and easy to put on/off.

These hiking shoes are great! They're a little chunky but they do the job, are comfortable and have a good grip. The colour is as advertised with a grey tone. The grip is good for hiking and ensure non slip
